C L A S S I C S R E V I S I T E D 20 21 YURMAN DAVID David Yurman works with his favorite motifs and iconic designs this year to bring us new collections that are fresh and classic at the same time. Whether it’s a new interpretation of the Art Deco aesthetic, a renewal of the signature Cable motif, or a flash of light represented by rays of metal and diamonds, David Yurman’s creative genius shines through.

ANGELIKA: The Angelika collection incorporates many of the technical refinements explored through David Yurman’s high jewelry creations.Angelika was a year in development, and what makes it unique are the individual sculptural filaments radiating from a central point in the collection’s designs. Each delicate filament has its own square shape with a surface textured by Cable, diamonds, or a smooth, high polish. When bundled together, the fineness and delicacy of the filaments create not only movement but an ethereal play of light. The collection is available in both 18k gold and sterling silver. Each metal ray is hand finished, and the diamonds are hand set.

He continues to explore Cable with new, modern expressions in Silver Ice — sterling silver and diamonds — and 18k gold with diamonds. Hand set in unique double crescent shapes at each end, diamonds evoke the Art Deco accents in iconic New York City architecture.

LEXINGTON: Named after the street of Art Deco icons like the GE and Chrysler Buildings, Lexington celebrates the sleek sensibility of 1930s Manhattan architecture. Clean lines and the juxtaposition of smooth and cabled metal transform David’s signature oval-link chain into a city-chic essential that can be styled with unique amulets or the collection’s faceted pendants.
THOROUGHBRED LOOP: This season, DavidYurman returns to his equestrian roots with a new collection inspired by boleadoras or the bolas, a loop used by Argentine and Uruguayan gauchos to round up cattle. David transforms this simple form into sculptural bracelets, rings, and handcrafted chains. As with all of his equestrian-inspired collections, Thoroughbred Loop mixes silver and gold, emphasizing the beauty of metal without gemstones.

BC Clark Named
COOLEST STORE IN AMERICA
“Every year, we feel privileged to bring our readers the best of the best in our industry,” said Trace Shelton, INSTORE ’s editor-in-chief. “From its expansive, dramatic showroom to its chain- draped bridal enclave and exceptional lighting design, BC Clark certainly qualifies. But a store wouldn’t really fit our ‘cool’ criteria if it weren’t for such aspects as innovative marketing, creative retail environment, and unique work culture.”
BC Clark at Classen Curve was recently named America’s Coolest Jewelry Store by INSTORE , the magazine. Oklahoma’s newest luxury store in Oklahoma’s premier shopping district took first place in the ‘Big Cool’ division for the largest independent jewelry stores in North America. “We are particularly excited about this recognition as we opened the Classen Curve location exactly one year ago amidst a global pandemic. We believe this store represents our determination to deliver a great customer experience and an ability to evolve during challenging times. That is vital for a company that’s been in business for more than 129 years,” said Coleman Clark, president of BC Clark. “The Classen Curve store stands for our commitment and faith in the future.” In the annual contest, BC Clark at Classen Curve was chosen frommore than 80 jewelry retailers across the country.

Judges cite the ability to grow through challenging times, innovate and prioritize company culture. The Classen Curve store is Oklahoma’s largest and most prestigious jewelry store. The first floor is 10,000 square feet, most of which is retail space for jewelry and watches. This includes an expanded Rolex environment that is the largest of its kind in the region. The second level features another spacious showroom, home to the Life:Style department including home decor, tableware, and bridal registry. Judges also cited the memorable components of BC Clark’s marketing, including their famous jingle, and campaigns like Pray for Rain and the recent Faith + Hope + Love initiative.
According to the judges, BC Clark demonstrates authentic caring for their staff and their community. The judges cited closing on Black Friday so their employees can stay home with families, focusing on charitable giving, and encouraging voluntarism as examples. Judging included exterior appearance, interior appearance, store biography, marketing, web presence, and overall individuality. “We are thrilled to accept this award, especially because the Classen Curve location is truly a collaboration between local partners. These partners include our architect Todd Edmonds of HSE Architects, Traction Marketing, and our retail neighbors at Classen Curve. We also could not have done it without our loyal employees. If you have not made it out to our Classen Curve store, we would love to personally invite you in for a tour.

YOUR MIX match HOW TO MAKE EVERY LOOK YOUR OWN
Layering and stacking jewelry to curate your individual style is one of the strongest trends to ever happen in fine jewelry. It’s bigger than the tennis bracelet, the Y-necklace, or the statement pendant, because it’s all of these together and more! Why wear just one piece of beautiful jewelry when you can wear several? And why let one designer dictate your style when you can combine several and create your own? Layering and stacking gives you the opportunity to get creative and let your own personal flair shine through. Mixing and matching can be a way to dress up or down by using several pieces together to create either a bold or casual look, with just a few subtle adjustments. To start a layer, choose a center piece that anchors everything and then build the look around it. It could be a spectacular necklace, a bold ring, a watch, or a cuff bracelet. Everything else flows from there, and that’s where the fun begins. You can add texture, color, and dimension, layering in pieces of varying lengths and thicknesses. Build the layers in levels, starting with a short chain like a choker and then lengthening them downwards to create a cascading look, ending with a pendant or lariat. It usually starts with 14 inches and goes down to 33 inches. Generally choose an odd number of necklaces, like three or five, but sometimes just two necklaces can work well.

Mix a medallion pendant with a Y-necklace and maybe a trendy paper-clip chain or a chunky Cuban link with a diamond or gemstone solitaire attached to it. Finish it off with something set with a hardstone, like malachite or lapis, or a row of colored gemstone accents. Color adds some punch to an otherwise monochrome look, and gemstones are a perfect way to add some drama. Pick a gem that means something to you, like a birthstone, or one that carries a symbolic meaning. Or simply match your outfit. You can also create color with metals. Mix and match white, yellow, and rose-colored metals for a textured look. Anything goes! The well-stacked wrist often starts with one main piece. From there, you could wear a stack of similar pieces, like a set of bangles in different patterns or colors. Alternatively, you could mix the standout piece with a collection of more subtle designs in slack bracelet or hard bangle form. If clashing isn’t for you or won’t suit the occasion, then choose pieces that share a similar aesthetic but aren’t identical.

The ears are an important focus right now, and earrings also offer an opportunity for multiple wearables. Mix an ear jacket with drop earrings, studs, and hoops all on one ear. Or if you want an asymmetrical look using both ears, you could wear a drop earring on your right ear and studs or small hoops on your left. There is only one rule to layering and stacking jewelry: don’t overdo it. Wearing jewelry in layers does not mean wearing everything all at once. It’s about carefully selecting pieces that work together for the look you want for the moment, and having some fun with the process!

To Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, the world was a living laboratory. He sent Rolex watches to the world’s most extreme locations, supporting explorers who ventured into the unknown. The world has changed since then, and as the 21st century unfolds, the company has moved from championing exploration for the sake of discovery to protecting the planet. Rolex still sends its watches into the unknown, but today, it also supports individuals and organizations who use science to understand the world’s environmental challenges and devise solutions that will restore balance to our ecosystems. The Rolex Awards for Enterprise, launched in 1976 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Oyster chronometer, are one of the three pillars of the Rolex Perpetual Planet initiative. It is dedicated to helping exceptional individuals with innovative projects that expand our knowledge of the world, improve human well-being, and protect the environment. Here are this year’s five laureates:
The five laureates in this year’s Rolex Awards for Enterprise are pioneers whose visionary projects have the potential to help reinvent the future. They include a wildlife conservationist, a polar explorer, a climate change scientist, a marine scientist who is exploring coral reefs, and a social entrepreneur fighting malnutrition in Africa.
RINZIN PHUNJOK LAMA is a scientist and environmentalist from Nepal who works to protect the diverse ecosystems of the Trans-Himalayan region, home of iconic and globally threatened mammals. Lama’s project is science-based, using field surveys and camera-trapping techniques to establish the baseline number of mammal species, while supporting the development of new enterprises that will expand the possibilities for local people’s income.
FELIX BROOKS-CHURCH is a social entrepreneur from the U.S. who, after witnessing malnutrition while working on educational programs in developing countries, devised a program to tackle malnutrition in Tanzania. He does it by equipping rural flour mills with dosifier machines, which fortify staple foods with micronutrients.

LUIZ ROCHA , a marine scientist from Brazil, is working to explore and protect coral reefs and their biodiversity in the Indian Ocean. His aim is to strengthen conservation of these largely unknown ecosystems. Rocha will research their suitability to shelter at-risk species from shallower reefs that are threatened by global warming.
HINDOU OUMAROU IBRAHIM , a climate activist from Chad, uses indigenous peoples’ traditional knowledge to map natural resources and prevent climate conflicts in the Sahel region of west-central Africa. Ibrahim believes women are key to her initiative because they remain close to nature, using the terrain and powers of observation to solve problems. She compares women’s wisdom to apps on a smart phone. “My best app is my grandmother,” she says.

GINA MOSELEY , a polar explorer and climate change scientist from the United Kingdom, aims to lead the first expedition to explore the planet’s northernmost caves in Greenland to improve our knowledge of climate change in the Arctic. The Arctic is warming at more than twice the rate of the global average, Moseley says, and understanding more about how this sensitive part of the world responds in a warmer world is crucial.

“Rolex has long recognized its responsibility to play a part in creating a sustainable planet, a Perpetual Planet,” says Arnaud Boetsch, Rolex’s director of communication and image. “Rather than venturing into the unknown and discovering uncharted lands, the new breed of explorer is committed to protecting the planet. The five laureates are prime examples of these guardians of the future.” They will receive funding for their projects and other benefits, such as
worldwide publicity, which often engenders further support. “The 155 projects supported by the Rolex Awards for Enterprise for nearly a half century have had a real impact on the world, with millions of people around the globe benefiting,” says Boetsch. “Marked by individual achievement, excellence, and performance, the Laureates and their projects reflect the values that have underpinned Rolex from its earliest days.”

We emerged from lockdown in the spring to the vibrant neon energy of bright pinks, yellows, greens, and aquas. Those colors linger as accents as we transition into a range of comforting new neutrals for the fall, including saturated oranges, deep reds, and forest greens. Some of this year’s color combinations are
surprising: Pantone’s top two colors of the year are the stony shades of Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, a golden buttercup yellow that will warm your heart. The two colors look great together — who would have thought? — and Vogue magazine called them the standout colors of 2021.

“Ultimate Gray is emblematic of solid and dependable elements that are everlasting and provide a firm foundation,” says Leatrice Eiseman of the Pantone Color Institute. “It is the color of pebbles on the beach whose weathered appearance highlights an ability to stand the test of time. It quietly assures, encouraging feelings of composure, steadiness, and resilience.” The second color, Illuminating, is one of strength and positivity, she says. “Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow, sparkling with vivacity. It is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter.” Likewise, the new colors released by paint companies this year are all about comfort. A new generation of saturated, restful neutrals provide a sense of sanctuary. Sherwin-Williams likes Urbane Bronze, a gray shade that is slightly darker than Pantone’s Ultimate. The company also released a light burgundy called Passionate, along with a pale apricot it describes as having overtones of “barely there pink,” like “minimally finished hardwood.”

Benjamin Moore goes earthy with a goldish hue it calls Chestertown Buff, and follows up with the blue-green Agean Teal, a color that “invites us to take a moment to reflect and reset.” Glidden likewise likes blue hues right now, introducing Aqua Fiesta, the tone of crystal-clear tropical water, and PPG released Misty Aqua, which it says is “all about looking ahead to cloudless skies and imagining destinations.”

HERE ARE SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT COLOR, INCLUDING SYMBOLISM AND LORE, TO REMIND US OF HOW IMPORTANT COLOR IS TO OUR WORLD, AND HOW DULL THINGS WOULD BE WITHOUT IT. RED IS THE COLOR OF LOVE. IT RADIATES PASSION AND VITALITY. TWOMAGICAL ELEMENTS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH RED: FIRE AND BLOOD, WHICH REPRESENT WARMTH AND LIFE ITSELF. IT IS THE COLOR OF INTENSITY, APPETITE, AND ADVENTURE. IT’S AN ATTENTION-GETTING TONE, HENCE THE RED STOP SIGN AND THE RED FIRE ENGINE — AND 77 PERCENT OF ALL NATIONAL FLAGS INCLUDE RED. YELLOW IS THE MOST LUMINOUS OF ALL THE COLORS IN THE SPECTRUM, AND IT THEREFORE CAPTURES OUR ATTENTION MORE THAN ANY OTHER — THE HUMAN EYE PROCESSES YELLOW FIRST. MANY DIVE WATCHES HAVE YELLOW DIALS OR MARKINGS FOR GREATER VISIBILITY UNDER WATER. IT’S A HAPPY COLOR THAT REMINDS US OF SUNSHINE, DAFFODILS, LEMONS, AND THE HAPPY FACE EMOJI. BLUE IS THE WORLD’S FAVORITE COLOR. IT IS COOLING AND SOOTHING AND ASSOCIATED WITH WISDOM AND CLARITY. SOFT BLUES ARE THOUGHT TO CALM THE MIND AND AID CONCENTRATION. DARK BLUE IMPLIES TRUST, DIGNITY, INTELLIGENCE, AND AUTHORITY. BRIGHT BLUE SIGNIFIES STRENGTH, DEPENDABILITY, AND COOLNESS. BLUE IS A DEPENDABLE, LOOKS-GOOD- ANYWHERE COLOR THAT IS ALL ABOUT PEACE AND SERENITY. GREEN IS A PERENNIAL FAVORITE THAT HAS COME TO REPRESENT THE VERY PLANET WE SHARE. IT IS THE COLOR OF ECOLOGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT, OF GREEN SPACES, SPRING, REGENERATION, AND FERTILITY. IT’S A LUCKY COLOR TO THE IRISH AS WELL AS MANY OTHER CULTURES, AND IT REPRESENTS RENEWAL AND ENERGY. A GREEN LIGHT MEANS GO! THERE ARE MORE SHADES OF GREEN THAN ANY OTHER COLOR, FROM THE LIME GREEN OF PERIDOT TO THE DEEP RICH GARDEN GREEN OF EMERALD. ORANGE IS THE ONLY COLOR NAMED AFTER A FRUIT — OR IS THE FRUIT NAMED AFTER THE COLOR? EITHER WAY, IT IS A VIVID, BRACING HUE THAT CAN MEAN LUXURY IN SOME SHADES AND SERVE AS A WARNING SIGNAL IN OTHERS — THINK TRAFFIC CONES AND POLICE VESTS. IN NATURE, IT SHOWS UP IN SUNSETS, RAINBOWS, FIRE, AND FLOWERS. IT IS THE COLOR OF HALLOWEEN, CHEETOS, AND MARMALADE. IT REPRESENTS VITALITY, WARMTH, CHEER, AND ADVENTURE. PINK HAS BECOME A STAPLE COLOR IN FASHION AND DECOR. SHADES RUN THE GAMUT FROM SOFT NEUTRALS TO VIBRANT NEON STYLE STATEMENTS. PINK SYMBOLIZES BLOSSOMING LOVE AND THE FRESHNESS OF YOUTH. IT IS THE COLOR OF ROMANCE, WARMTH, AFFECTION, AND TRANQUILITY. MORE SOOTHING THAN STIMULATING, PINK REPRESENTS THE FEMININE PRINCIPLE, REPRODUCTION, AND THE SURVIVAL OF THE SPECIES.

s long as jewelry designer Penny Previ l le can remember, she has been in love with Art Deco. “I studied art history in school, and Art Deco was always my favorite era,” she says. “The clean lines and geometric shapes always appealed to me, whether it was architecture, furniture, or jewelry.” So enthusiastic was she that she remembers encouraging her mother, an interior designer, to abandon her antique focus and adopt a more Art Deco style. PENNY PREVILLE’S LOVE OF ART DECO SHINES THROUGH IN HER LATEST COLLECTION
Penny’s jewelry designs have always reflected this design sensibility, and this year she releases the most deco of her designs in the Moderne Deco collection. “As a New Yorker, I always admired the elegance and sleekness of the Art Deco buildings in NYC, such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. I have incorporated their clean lines, smooth and polished surfaces, and geometric shapes into the chain designs from my Moderne collection,” she says. “My designs stand the test of time,” says Penny. “10 or 20 years from now, they will still look stylish and relevant.”

The geometric silhouettes of the linked chains in the collection seem especially contemporary, despite their Deco influence. Some of the chains are convertible, which means they can be worn in different lengths or divided into chokers and bracelets and even Y-necklaces that can be worn with clip- ons that turn them into bold pendants. In this way, they are designed to truly maximize your jewelry wardrobe. Art Deco jewelry was known for its exquisite finishing details, and these chains are no exception, with links crafted to incorporate tiny balls of gold on the surface. Combined with polished surfaces, this pure goldsmithing detail adds extra dimension and light reflection. Some of the links are set with diamonds — not just pavé, but substantial baguette-cut gems that are set between the long, stretched-out links. Earrings from the collection hang in perfect geometric alignment, with a combination of round and baguette shaped diamonds, resembling the dazzling Chrysler Building. They can be worn with matching bar necklaces that spread out horizontally across the cleavage and rings set with round and baguette diamonds with minimum metal and maximum sparkle. The overall look is true to its name: it is utterly modern and in sync with today’s jewelry trends, yet deliberately and carefully designed with an eye to the unmistakable elegance of the Art Deco style. This combination gives the Moderne Deco collection a classic quality. “My designs stand the test of time,” says Penny. “You will be able to pick them up 10 or 20 years from now, and they will still look stylish and relevant.”

THE 5 TOP FEATURES OF A SMART HOME Before the smart home revolution, home-based technology featured advanced appliances, internet connections, and the occasional smart air conditioner. In 2021, the revolution aims to create homes that are fully sentient and self-functioning.
THE USE OF GREEN TECHNOLOGY With climate change becoming a growing concern, most people opt to go green and cut down on their carbon footprint as much as possible. Major companies such as Samsung, Amazon Inc, and ABB Ltd. have joined the fight by implementing sustainable manufacturing processes and creating products that are more environmentally friendly.

IT COULD EVEN BE THE NEW STANDARD.
A good example of a green technology feature is a smart thermostat connected to a heating/cooling system to enable more precise and even automated temperature control. It is estimated to reduce energy waste by as much as 30%. Other appliances are also following suit, with features that minimize their carbon footprint. You will find green technology like motion sensors and other automation that will help reduce energy consumption by only activating devices when they are needed.

CONSCIOUS FURNITURE AND APPLIANCES Sentient furniture and appliances are those that read the environment and react accordingly on their own. These aim to improve convenience and increase the security of homes. A great example is the kitchen shelf that remains closed if a child attempts to open it and doors that let you know when your child or pet passes through them to make you more aware. IKEA announced that they will spearhead this chapter in smart home technology with the introduction of the wireless charging lamp. This is just one of the upcoming innovations in connected furniture technology. This lamp will charge devices that share the same charging standard wirelessly.
IMPROVED SECURITY AND SAFETY SENSORS One of the biggest concerns for home-owners is security. Why invest in all of this technology is if it is only going to get stolen, right? Smart home trends in 2021 will therefore strive to improve existing security technology. This includes better sensor technology that will help detect invasions more quickly. These sensor systems will not only help keep human invaders at bay but also curious animals and destructive insects. In 2021, advanced sensors are predicted to have the capacity to detect termites, roaches, and houseflies and either release an electric pulse to scare them off or a small dose of insecticide. For now, confirmed technology will let you know when an insect infestation is taking root in your home.

You will find green technology items like motion sensors and other automation that will help reduce energy consumption by only activating devices when they are needed. BETTER DATA SECURITY Data theft and hacking have become serious concerns for owners of smart homes. 2021 smart home trends will therefore include a lot of antivirus and anti-hacking software that you will need to purchase to safeguard all networks and appliances in your home. More appliances will also be made with hardware and software that is harder to infiltrate externally.
LOCKDOWN FITNESS TECHNOLOGY Following movement restrictions due to the pandemic, smart home technologies will prioritize home fitness appliances and applications that will encourage physical activity. This could be in form of webcams on your television to help keep track of your workouts and other connected appliances that will remind you to use your fitness equipment daily. Your ho e should be your safe space, the one place you will feel relaxed and at ease. With smart home technologies, your tasks are made easier, you get help staying healthy, and invasions are kept at bay. 2021 is a good year as any to go smart and improve your living experience.

BREITLING CHRONOMAT MAKES A COMEBACK
I N C L U D I N G A R E V I V A L O F T H E F A M O U S R O U L E A U X B R A C E L E T
Breitling has completely redesigned its Chronomat collection, keeping it true to the original, which became a cult favorite when it was launched in 1984 because of its distinctive tube-like linked bracelet. The redesign leaves most of the model’s signature features intact, including the integrated onion crown and the distinctive rider tabs at 3 and 9 o’clock that allow the bezel to be used as either a count-up or a countdown timer. Most notably, though, is the unmistakable rouleaux bracelet with its rounded, tube-like stainless steel links. “There are very few distinguished steel bracelets out there,”
says Breitling CEO Georges Kern. “A design like this is very unique, but very recognizable. It’s like the Porsche 911, which is a classic design that has evolved over time but essentially remains the same.” The new collection includes a Bentley edition, with a British racing-green dial to mark its ongoing partnership with the British luxury car brand. There is also a Frecce Tricolori Limited Edition, celebrating the acrobatic flight team that inspired the original Chronomat. The chronographs in the line are powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, with a 70-hour power reserve.

Breitling has also finally introduced a ladies’ version of the Chronomat, and it’s a full collection with several options in two sizes. The design is classic and minimalist, with markers rather than numerals on the dial and a diamond bezel to add a feminine touch. There are 10 references, with case options including stainless steel, 18k gold, or a combination of both. Dials for the 36 mm include lacquered white, pale green, midnight blue, or copper, and for the 32 mm, white or midnight blue. The 36 mm contains a Breitling
automatic mechanical movement, and the 32 mm contains an in- house SuperQuartz movement with a 3- to 4-year battery life. The ladies’ Chronomat was launched with help from a squad of celebrity Breitling ambassadors: Charlize Theron, an Oscar-winning actor; Misty Copeland, a ballerina and the first African American woman to become a principal dancer; and Yao Chen, an award-winning Chinese TV and film actor. Breitling also debuted new packaging that is made from recycled fishing nets and can itself be recycled.

ROADSTER
T HE F I R S T SU P E RCAR TO S E T E V E R Y P E R FORMANCE R ECORD AND S T I L L F I T S E A T I NG FOR FOUR .
The second-generation Tesla Roadster, originally unveiled in 2017 and expected to enter the market in 2022, is the quickest car in the world, with record-setting acceleration, range, and performance. With SpaceX’s package it will go 0-60 mph in 1.1 seconds! WHAT’S OLD IS NEW AGAIN The Roadster will be a new addition to the Tesla lineup when it eventually enters production, resurrecting the nameplate worn by the company’s first model back in 2008.
DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE AND AERO EFFICIENCY
As an all-electric supercar, Roadster maximizes the potential of aerodynamic engineering — with record-setting performance and efficiency. GLASS ROOF A lightweight, removable glass roof stores in the trunk for an open-air, convertible driving experience.
FOR REFERENCE, IF THAT 60-MPH TIME HOLDS UP, IT WILL MEAN THE ROADSTER IS A FULL SECOND QUICKER THAN ITS KEY RIVAL, THE GASOLINE-POWERED MCLAREN 570S.

JUST PLAIN FAST In November 2017, Tesla revealed the second-generation Roadster. Plans were made for a 2021 release, but it’s now expected to arrive for the 2022 model year. The good news? Until then, you could visit one on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California. Tesla hasn’t been bringing out the new Roadster prototype often since the unveiling. This is understandable, considering the production version has been delayed several times. Tesla is not looking to promote it too soon or too much. But this past summer it was in the rare situation where anyone who wanted to buy a ticket for the Petersen Automotive Museum could go and see it. And now you can order it as well. There, next to the car, was an interesting plaque that reveals a startling zero-to-60 mile-per-hour time of 1.1 seconds, when equipped with the SpaceX package. Huh? Musk took to Twitter to confirm the revelation, saying that it’s possible with “the SpaceX rocket thruster option package.” In true James Bond fashion, the Roadster might have cold air thrusters, supplied by compressed air tanks, with the thrusters hidden behind the license plate that’ll help propel the all-wheel-drive sports car to cruising speeds. Without the package, Tesla claims the car should be able to hit 60 mph (96 kilometers per hour) in 1.9 seconds, still mind-blowing, to say the least.
Musk has made a lot of promises with the Roadster, claiming the car will offer 620 miles of range with its tri-motor configuration — one in the front and two in the back — that will power all four wheels. The power and range will come from a 250-kilowatt-hour battery. When Tesla revealed it in 2017, the company said the car would offer 7,375 pound-feet (10,000 Newton-meters) of torque and that it would hit 100 mph (160 kph) in 4.2 seconds, which is quicker than most cars to 60. It would complete the quarter-mile in 8.8 seconds. All that performance won’t be cheap, as the car will be capable of reaching speeds over 250 mph (402 kph). The base Roadster starts at $200,000 with the Founders Series car, of which only 1,000 will be made, costing $250,000 each. Tesla required $50,000 to reserve one, and it should be a stunning performance car when it arrives. Musk often remained vague about a new official timeline for the electric hypercar program, but he confirmed earlier this year that the engineering of the new Tesla Roadster will be completed this year in order to enter production in 2022. He even said that he expects Tesla to have a new drivable release candidate by the end of the summer and that version should end up being the production version available next year.

Tudor began updating and relaunching its dive watches in 2012 with the introduction of the Heritage Black Bay. Since then, the award-winning Black Bay has become a favorite in an era when the steel sports watch reigns Tudor BlackBay
supreme among collectors. Today’s models retain many of the design signatures of the original 1950s and ’60s Tudors, but they are stronger, with sleeker designs, state-of-the-art movements, and other modern updates, including intricately constructed bracelets and luminescent markings on the dials. The dial retains the model’s
signature snowflake hands and square hour markers, which first appeared in 1969. The goal of the thick hands with large counterweights was to allow for abundant luminescent material, thus guaranteeing high legibility in all conditions. Some of the largest navies in the world have also chosen to use these for their diving personnel, including those from France, the U.S., Canada, and Italy. In the 1960s, the snowflake hands were used on two different diving models, references 7016 and 7021. It wasn’t until the 1990s that watch collectors nicknamed them snowflake hands, because they are reminiscent of the shape of a partial snowflake.
