s long as jewelry designer Penny Previ l le can remember, she has been in love with Art Deco. “I studied art history in school, and Art Deco was always my favorite era,” she says. “The clean lines and geometric shapes always appealed to me, whether it was architecture, furniture, or jewelry.” So enthusiastic was she that she remembers encouraging her mother, an interior designer, to abandon her antique focus and adopt a more Art Deco style. PENNY PREVILLE’S LOVE OF ART DECO SHINES THROUGH IN HER LATEST COLLECTION

Penny’s jewelry designs have always reflected this design sensibility, and this year she releases the most deco of her designs in the Moderne Deco collection. “As a New Yorker, I always admired the elegance and sleekness of the Art Deco buildings in NYC, such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. I have incorporated their clean lines, smooth and polished surfaces, and geometric shapes into the chain designs from my Moderne collection,” she says. “My designs stand the test of time,” says Penny. “10 or 20 years from now, they will still look stylish and relevant.”
