OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST

MAKE A DATE OF A DAY

A MILESTONE IN WATCHMAKING HISTORY, THE OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST WAS THE FIRST SELF-WINDING WATERPROOF CHRONOMETER WRISTWATCH TO DISPLAY THE DATE IN A WINDOW AT 3 O’CLOCK ON THE DIAL. THESE NUMBERS ARE A REMINDER THAT THOUGH 24 HOURS MARK A DAY, IT’S ON US TO MAKE THOSE A DATE TO REMEMBER.

WITNESS TO A SPECIAL DAY At the beginning or pinnacle of a career, under the spotlight or behind the scenes, dates with destiny come to those who succeed in seizing the day. A unique, classic and timeless watch, the Datejust spans eras. Rolex Testimonees Roger Federer and Iga Świątek are among those associated with the Datejust.

EMBODYING ROLEX KNOW-HOW

The perfect embodiment of the classic Rolex watch, the Datejust, launched in 1945, showcased all the major accomplishments developed to that point by the brand. It thus echoed the quest for excellence of Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, who believed that watchmaking progress should encourage human progress. In a period of great change, people’s relationship with time was shifting. Modern life moved to the rhythm of the passing days and was less connected to the seasons. The Datejust offers enhanced comfort in terms of legibility and daily time management.

Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41

“It is a masterpiece of horological science. It is, in fact, a synthesis of all that has been achieved up to the present day.”

THE CYCLOPS LENS: AN OPTIMIZED READING

Created to improve the legibility of the date, the Cyclops lens is both an aesthetic and a technical brand signature. This Rolex invention was patented in the early 1950s and presented for the first time in 1953 on a Datejust. Its magnifying effect makes the date easier to read. Initially in plexiglass, it has been crafted in sapphire since the 1970s, like the watch’s crystal. THE JUBILEE BRACELET: COMFORT AND ELEGANCE Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Rolex in 1945, the Jubilee bracelet was specially designed for the Datejust. This fluid and comfortable five-piece link metal bracelet is integral to the Datejust’s identity and enhances the timeless elegance of the model. The Datejust is also available with an Oyster bracelet or, on precious metal versions, a President bracelet.

A CONTINUALLY UPDATED WATCHMAKING ICON

a meeting point between the personal course of each wearer and the passing of time. Seen on the wrists of such major figures as Winston Churchill, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Martin Luther King, the Datejust has spanned eras without ever losing its modern touch. Among the Rolex Testimonees associated with the Datejust, we celebrate Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer, Polish tennis player Iga Świątek, Swiss skier Lara Gut-Behrami and Canadian singer Michael Bublé.

The Datejust is constantly reinventing itself. Its varied reinterpretations express and showcase Rolex’s expertise in dial-making. Featuring smooth, domed, fluted or diamond-set bezels, the Datejust has stylishly spanned eras while perfectly adapting to the personality of its wearers.

SYMBOLIC & SWEET Hearts and butterflies — both aflutter and full of whimsical meaning. Hearts = love, of course, so there is no mistaking the aura when you spot the Italian corazone gracefully hanging close to the skin. Butterflies — mesmerizing to watch, lighter than a feather, colorful, and delicately beautiful — are symbolic of new life and rebirth. Both provoke feelings of happiness, and a little happiness can go a long way.

GET IN THE MIX Taking a cue from the popularity of textures, we are now seeing a mix of different diamond cuts in single pieces of jewelry. Looks are organic, like different shapes sprinkled onto a ring, or diamonds puzzled together side by side. Beautiful and creative, for those who really like a unique style.

It’s an interesting journey traveling to Alys Beach from just about anywhere in the country. Perhaps that helps make this destination all the more special. A flight might take you through Atlanta and then onto Panama City. From there a 30 minute drive will bring you to a paradise designed to facilitate a rewind and refresh. The original vision of Alys Beach included Moorish and Mediterranean flairs, with architectural styles founded in the beauty of Bermuda and with courtyards inspired by homes in Antigua, Guatemala. A combination and experience you will have to see to believe. To be a part of the Alys Beach community — as a resident or vacationer — is to become one with a life defined by excellence and beauty. Every piece of this vibrant, coastal, New Urbanist community has been built with intention, from the master design of the town to the detail in each doorway. The place is reminiscent of the world’s most beloved seaside towns. Alys Beach can trace its modern history to the 1970s, when the Stephens family purchased the property at auction. They had been vacationing in the area for years,

and the spur-of-the-moment purchase was intended to provide a retreat for the family and their employees. Smart man that he was, patriarch Elton Stephens named the paradise after his beloved, Alys. All of Alys Beach’s 158 acres are within a short and pleasant walk of the coast, and walkability was the intent, with easy access to the town center’s many shops and restaurants.

is defined, but if you haven’t heard of it until now, you are not alone.

Alys is beyond a respite or a retreat. The word “vacation” simply does not do it justice. With brilliant beaches, warm water, and lush vegetation, this tiny swath of

land creates an experience like none other. Dazzlingly beautiful white buildings fill the horizon, lined by pristine sands and azure waters. This is a place of dreams.

A GOLDEN LEGACY ITALY’S RICH HERITAGE OF GOLDSMITHING

A s you stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets of an enchanting Italian town, the warm sun casts a golden glow on the vibrant facades of centuries-old buildings. The air is filled with an unmistakable artistic aura, drawing you deeper into the heart of a place where creativity thrives. The melodic sounds of clinking tools and hushed conversations spill out from open workshop doors, teasing your curiosity. It is here, amid the timeless charm and whispered legends, that you begin to sense the intangible spirit of Italy’s illustrious goldsmithing heritage. A land known for its artistic mastery and rich cultural heritage, Italy has long been synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship. Among its many treasures, the tradition of goldsmithing stands out as a shining symbol of the nation’s cultural wealth and artistic brilliance. For centuries, Italian goldsmiths have been renowned for their exceptional skills, transforming precious metals into intricate and timeless works of art. Goldsmithing in Italy can be traced back to ancient times. The Etruscans, an ancient civilization that thrived in Italy between the 8th and 3rd centuries BCE, were revered for their masterful goldsmithing techniques. Their intricate gold jewelry, often adorned with detailed filigree and granulation work, showcased their unparalleled artistry. Roman goldsmiths further refined these techniques, creating stunning pieces that reflected the grandeur and opulence of the Roman Empire. THE RENAISSANCE ERA The Renaissance period marked a significant milestone in Italian goldsmithing. Artists and goldsmiths collaborated closely, resulting in extraordinary creations that merged the worlds of art and craftsmanship. Cities such as Florence, Venice, and Rome became vibrant centers of goldsmithing, attracting talented artisans from across Italy and beyond. The Medici family of Florence played a pivotal role in fostering the art of goldsmithing, supporting renowned artists like Benvenuto Cellini, whose exceptional skill and creativity left an indelible mark on the craft.

DISTINCTIVE TECHNIQUES AND STYLES Italian goldsmiths developed unique techniques and styles that set them apart. The art of filigree, delicate metalwork created by twisting and shaping fine wires, became a hallmark of Italian goldsmithing. Granulation, the meticulous application of tiny gold beads, added intricate texture and dimension to jewelry. These techniques, passed down through generations, continue to be cherished and practiced by modern Italian goldsmiths.

CONTEMPORARY GOLDSMITHING In the present day, Italy’s goldsmithing tradition thrives with a blend of timeless craftsmanship and innovative design. From the historic jewelry houses of Milan to small ateliers in artisanal towns like Arezzo and Vicenza, Italian goldsmiths continue to create breathtaking pieces that captivate the world. They embrace both traditional techniques and cutting-edge technologies, blending the old and the new to produce jewelry that is both classic and contemporary.

PRESERVING A LEGACY Italy recognizes the significance of preserving its goldsmithing heritage and has taken measures to ensure its longevity. Institutions like the Vicenza Jewelry Museum and the Goldsmiths Guild of Florence actively promote and support the craft through exhibitions, workshops, and educational programs. These initiatives foster the growth of new talent while honoring the legacy of the master goldsmiths who came before.

EXHALE NEGATIVITY — BECAUSE LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO HOLD IT IN breathe just

28 ROMAN JEWELERS MAGAZINE

“THE QUALITY OF YOUR BREATH DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE.” –Thich Nhat Hanh

I n our fast-paced world, we often forget to take a moment to just breathe. Breathing exercises are an excellent way to reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and even boost physical health. Let’s explore the benefits of breathing exercises and how you can incorporate them into your daily routine. First off, breathing exercises can help reduce stress and anxiety. When we’re stressed, our bodies enter a state of fight or flight. This is a natural response that’s designed to help us respond to danger, but when we’re constantly stressed, it can wreak havoc on our bodies. Breathing exercises help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the body’s relaxation response. This can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and even lower blood pressure. So, when you’re feeling like a hot mess, take a deep breath and let it go.

Breathing exercises can also improve mental clarity and focus. You know that feeling when you’re trying to focus on work, but your mind keeps wandering to your plans for lunch? By focusing on your breath, you can quiet the mind and reduce distractions. This can help you become more present in the moment. Mindfulness has been shown to improve cognitive function and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Breathing exercises can also have physical health benefits. For example, diaphragmatic breathing (also known as belly breathing) can improve lung function and increase oxygen delivery to the body. This can help improve athletic performance, reduce fatigue, and even improve sleep quality. So, if you want to be a total boss in the gym, or just get a good night’s sleep, take a few deep breaths, and feel the benefits.

“BREATHE. LET GO. AND REMIND YOURSELF THAT THIS VERY MOMENT IS THE ONLY ONE YOU KNOW YOU HAVE FOR SURE.” –Oprah Winfrey

So, how can you incorporate breathing exercises into your daily routine? There are many different techniques you can try, but one simple exercise is deep breathing. To do this exercise, sit or lie down in a comfortable position and place your hands on your belly. Take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your belly to expand. Hold your breath for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth, allowing your belly to deflate. Repeat this exercise for several

minutes, focusing on the sensation of your breath as it moves in and out of your body. Another technique is the 4-7-8 breath. To do this exercise, sit or lie down in a comfortable position and breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. Hold your breath for a count of 7, and then exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of 8. Repeat this exercise for several minutes, focusing on the sensation of your breath as you inhale and exhale.

“THE KEY TO A MORE RELAXED, CONTENTED YOU IS RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE.” –Donna Farhi

Breathing exercises can be done anywhere and at any time, making them a convenient tool for improving your overall health and wellbeing. You can try them in the morning to start your day off on a calm note, during a break at work to reduce stress, or before bed to improve sleep quality. They are a simple yet powerful tool for improving your health and wellbeing. By reducing stress, improving mental clarity, and even boosting physical health, they can help you lead a more balanced and fulfilling life. So why not take a few moments each day to just breathe? Your mind and body will thank you.

SIMON G . LIFELONG PURSUIT OF BEAUTY IN SIMON’S WORDS “My parents handed down the values of honest, hard work to all their children. We were taught that if you could build something with your hands, you’d never go hungry. When I first came to America, I had $200 in my pocket and a dream of going to college to be an engineer. But when I tried to sign up for classes in New York, they were thousands of dollars! Luckily, I had a relative working in the diamond district who invited me to work there and save up for school. I started setting diamonds and soon fell in love with the process, artistry, and details of jewelry making. Before long, what started as a hobby became a passion. I began making my own designs in my spare time and saving up for more jewelry-making materials instead of classes. “My, how things have changed since then. Now, Simon G. has many designers from all around the world, and our handcrafted work is sold in over 900 stores across North America. As proud as I am of what we’ve accomplished, I still get my biggest thrill from creating a new piece. Sitting down and sketching out an idea is as magical to me now as it was the very first time I did it, whether it’s a traditional wedding ring or a bracelet with multicolored gemstones.”

Simon Ghanimian came to the United States from Armenia with only $200 in his pocket. He saved up enough money to obtain materials to make jewelry and began selling his creations by going door-to-door. Later, he moved to Los Angeles to open his own business. Today Simon G. blends inspiration from jewelry history with modern and bold details to create a unique and exquisite range of jewelry designs.

FOCUS ON QUALITY Simon G. is committed to producing only the finest quality jewelry in order to do justice to their creative visions. As a concept is formed into reality, the jewelry piece is monitored at 10 separate quality-control stations. Metals are alloyed in-house to ensure enduring hardiness and perfectly matching color tones. Details are celebrated in extraordinarily delicate beadwork, filigree, and engraving that set their pieces apart. All pieces are polished, not only on the top surface, but also on the back, interior, and underneath the stones to create the most light-reflecting surfaces.

PREMIER PAIRINGS

fall and the holiday season — time to DRINK THE CLASSICS!

BY CHRIS CREE, MASTER OF WINE

W hen the fall weather arrives, there is no doubt that my tastes start to lean towards the classic regions of Europe and their iconic wines. I make the switch from more casual summer cooking to cooler weather’s call for heartier fare, and as a result, I look for wines to match. If there is one country that seems to capture the idea of classic wines the best, it is arguably France. Its well-known regions of Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Loire, Rhone, and Champagne produce some of the most famous wines in the world. They are the benchmarks to which so many other wine regions have aspired and emulated with their own wines. Their wines also work extraordinarily well with the season’s heartier fare. While top wines from the best domaines in France can reach four figures (and more), you can also find value, even in such storied regions as Bordeaux and Burgundy. At Cree Wine Company we take pride in selecting only the very best wines, tasting thousands of wines every year and only bringing in the best, whether it’s an under $20 everyday red or white or a $1,500 collectible. Here are some of my favorites for the season, with a top-tier example for special occasions and a value- price alternative that has all of the elements of the top wine at a much lower price — great for larger groups, friends, and family. Cheers! BURGUNDY Located in central eastern France, the Burgundy region produces some of the finest expressions of chardonnay and pinot noir in the world. The moderate continental climate, ancient marine soils, and long history of winemaking in the region create the perfect environment for these two grapes. And while the best burgundy today can be very expensive (into the tens of thousands of dollars per bottle for top wines like Domaine

de la Romanee Conti), there are also excellent values to be found, with enough perseverance. The wines are extremely food-friendly and pair well with a wide range of fare, both red and white. Both can age very well in a cold cellar, developing complexity and nuance that only comes with time. Whites can range from crisp, mineral chablis, to fuller, richer expressions from the great villages of Chassagne, Puligny, and Meursault. They work with cheeses — Epoisses, Délice de Bourgogne, Camembert, Comté — meaty fish, and roasted chicken or turkey, quail, and other game birds. Red burgundy picks up where the whites leave off. They are best with grilled or roasted meaty fish, pork, veal,

duck, squab, pheasant, prime rib, or filet mignon. Bourgogne rouge or blanc are the starting points, often $20-$50 per bottle; then the wines move up through village level, premier cru, and finally grand cru, with each step being higher in quality and, of course, higher prices, too. WHITE BURGUNDY Fontaine-Gagnard Criots-Batard-Montrachet grand cru 2021, $450 : This small family domaine has vineyards in some of the best sites in the world for the chardonnay grape. This grand cru wine is simply stunning — layered and complex, with bright acidity, minerality, richness, and well- balanced oak. While this is drinking very well

now, I’d recommend opening an hour or so before serving or even decanting, even though it’s a white. If you want to see the highest levels that chardonnay can attain, Gagnard’s Criot-Batard is a terrific place to start. Château de Chamilly Bourgogne blanc 2021, $30 : This terrific domaine in the Côte Chalonnaise crafts wines that will give many a chardonnay from the more prestigious Côte d’Or a run for their money at a fraction of the price. You will find aromatic yellow fruits and apple notes joined by beautifully balanced oak, lovely minerality, and a fresh, long finish. It provides classic burgundian character at a minimal price.

making much more affordable wines. The reds are typically blends of what are commonly referred to as the “bordeaux varieties,” mainly cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc, along with small amounts of petit verdot and malbec, all blended in various proportions depending on the location of the vineyards and the vintage. The wines age exceptionally well, are perfect for fall dining, and are great with all kinds of roasted meats, steaks, prime rib of beef, venison, game birds, and even Thanksgiving dinner. Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande Pauillac 2010, $289 : Other than ponying up for one of the first growths like Château Mouton Rothshild, Château Latour or Château Lafite Rothschild (they’ll run you $600 to $1,000s per bottle),

make up its beautiful bouquet. It continues on to the palate with solid dark fruit and earth tones. It is deep yet balanced and classy, with moderate tannins and a long, lingering finish. Drink now and over the next 5-8 years. Why is this such a great value? Château Bernadotte is a 30-hectare vineyard in a superb location in the commune of Saint Sauveur. It is very close to Pauillac and just beyond Saint- Estèphe. Built in 1860, it was originally known as Château Fournas until it was purchased in 1997 by Madame May de Lencquesaing, former owner of Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande. She changed the name and put the crack team from Pichon to work, completely renovating the property and making major investments in the vineyards and cellars, dramatically raising the quality of the wines as a result. In 2007, Pichon Lalande and Bernadotte became the property of Champagne Roederer, further increasing the quality under the guidance of the Rouzaud family. ABOUT CREE WINE COMPANY Cree Wine Company was founded by Chris Cree, New Jersey’s only Master of Wine, and one of only 56 Masters of Wine in the country and 418 worldwide. RED BURGUNDY Domaine Arlaud Charmes-Chambertin grand cru 2021, $425 : Domaine Arlaud is located in one of the finest terroirs in the world for the pinot noir grape. But it takes more than that to create some of the best burgundy on earth. Currently the winery is run by Cyprian Arlaud, who has taken his family estate to entirely new levels. He employs organic and biodynamic farming methods, plowing by horse to avoid soil compaction, with zero use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides in the vineyard. In the cellar, minimal intervention is the goal, with elegance, precision, finesse, and complexity the focus. The cellar in Morey St. Denis is one of the coldest in the Côtes de Nuits, allowing a slow, gentle vinification with minimal use of SO2. All of his wines are also bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is simply an outstanding wine. Drink it now with decanting or cellar it for a decade or more. Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard bourgogne rouge 2021, $45 : When looking for value one of my strategies, especially in Burgundy, is to go to the top producers and buy the entry level wine. In this case it’s Fontaine Gagnard, and the wine is their bourgogne rouge. Sourced from vines in and around the village of Volnay, one of the best in the Côtes du Beaune, it offers a classy expression of burgundy and a very reasonable price. Ready to drink now and over the next decade, it would be perfect with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, roast loin of pork, duck breast, or a standing beef rib roast. BORDEAUX Located in the southwest of France on the Atlantic coast, this region produces powerful yet elegant long-lived red wines that are among the most expensive and sought after in the world. But along with the grand cru châteaux there are also thousands of small growers and domains

you can’t do much better than Château Pichon Lalande. Always at the top of the ratings, this classic Pauillac is what is referred to as a “super second,” one of the deuxieme grand cru classés that would be considered for promotion to 1er grand cru classé if they redid the classification today. From the outstanding 2010 vintage, this wine displays a beautiful Pauillac character — dark earthy aromas on the bouquet, cassis, cedar, cigar box, graphite, warm dark fruits, and integrated oak from its time in barrel. It is a blend of 75 percent cabernet sauvignon, 21 percent merlot, 4 percent cabernet franc, and is just entering its prime of life. Decant and enjoy now or cellar and enjoy over the next decade or more. Château Bernadotte Haut Médoc 2016, $19 : This drinks way above its modest price and is a classic Bordeaux left bank blend of 50 percent cabernet sauvignon, 44 percent merlot, 4 percent cabernet franc and 2 percent petit verdot. It leads off with lovely aromas of cedar, cassis, earth, and oak that

CANINE HEROES

BY CAROL BESLER

Roman Jewelers is proud to support The Seeing Eye annual auction, and this year, we had a visit from Seeing Eye puppy, Bart.

ROMAN JEWELERS IS PLEASED TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF SEEING EYE’S FURRY ANGELS ON EARTH DIAMOND DOGS

O f all the community activities supported by Roman Jewelers, the Seeing Eye affiliation is one that we look forward to every year. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a dog, especially when those warm furry friends are helping people with sight challenges to navigate the world around them. Seeing Eye is a philanthropic organization that nurtures the natural love and warmth of puppies and trains them for an important calling. It breeds and raises puppies to become seeing eye dogs. The organization also coaches blind people on the proper use, handling and care of the dogs, and even works toward the long term development of seeing eye dogs, supporting research on canine health and development. These professional fur babies need to be well bred and cared for, appropriately socialized, and expertly trained. The job of a seeing eye dog is harder than it looks. It can take years of training. Some dogs are born into the job at Seeing Eye’s 327-acre

Breeding Station campus in Chester, New Jersey. Of the 500 puppies it breeds each year, 60 percent pass the course and become guide dogs or enter the breeding program. The rest are placed with other service organizations, law enforcement, or search and rescue agencies or adopted by the public. Seeing Eye has approximately 170 staff members, with 35 full-time instructors, who work at the 62-acre Washington Valley campus in Morris Township. It’s no wonder the Seeing Eye ® dog is designated the official state dog of New Jersey! Roman Jewelers supports this noble effort by donating to Seeing Eye’s annual fundraiser auction. Not only does this allow us to support a cause dear to our hearts, it gives us the opportunity to meet some of these precious dogs in person. We firmly believe dogs are angels on earth, and we see it as an honor to help them share their love and to help others. And you can too! Seeing Eye is always looking for support from donors, volunteers, and puppy raisers. Give them a call today!

HEALTHY LIVING

your game WITH GREEN EXERCISE

LOOKING FOR A WAY TO STAY HEALTHY AND FEEL MORE RELAXED?

Try green exercise — any activity in which we interact with nature while moving our bod- ies and breaking a sweat. Experts have found a clear link between exercise and stress reduction and nature and stress reduction. Studies show that engaging in fitness activities in and around green spaces positively affects our mood and helps reduce stress and anxiety. So when you combine exercise and nature, you get a double dose of wellness. GREEN EXERCISE BOOSTS OUR WELL- BEING IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS: Reduces Stress Hormones. Green exercise reduces the level of stress hormones in our body, such as adrenaline and cortisol, helping us feel happier and calmer. Produces Endorphins. When we exercise, our body releases feel-good neurotransmitters called endorphins. These brain chemicals act as natural painkillers, making us feel better and less stressed. Minimizes Fatigue. Exercise improves blood flow and our body’s ability to use oxygen efficiently. These changes in our brain reduce fatigue and improve alertness. Encourages Mindfulness. Both exercise and nature provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy a mindful moment. When immersed in nature, we can easily get lost in the moment and experience a happiness boost.

FIND YOUR FAVORITE GREEN EXERCISE

PICKLEBALL As the fastest-growing sport in America, this activity, a cross between tennis and ping-pong, is another excellent green exercise option when played outdoors. PADDLEBOARDING Paddleboarding, which involves standing or kneeling on a floating board while using a paddle to glide across the water, offers the perfect blend of outdoor relaxation, fun, and physical exercise. You can appreciate the natural surroundings while engaging your muscles to maintain balance. BIKING Head out for a ride in your neighborhood or through a local park. You’ll get some exercise while enjoying the fresh air and natural scenery.

When you think of green exercise, you probably picture intense outdoorsy activities like hiking and climbing mountains. However, green exercise can be as simple as walking or cycling in your neighborhood or nearby park.

HERE ARE SOME IDEAS TO HELP GET YOU STARTED:

HIKING Walking and hiking, whether around your neighborhood, at a nearby park, or along the beach, can help you enjoy some healthy exercise while taking in the beauty of nature.

SWIMMING

Swimming is a versatile

and low-impact activity. Spending time in the water has a tremen- dous soothing effect. Experts have not- ed that swimming produces the same relaxation response as yoga, increasing calming chemicals and allowing us to enter a meditative state.

The options are endless to engage in some green exercise that will help you feel healthier and calmer and inspire you as you bask in the great outdoors.

BEHIND THE SCENES BRIDAL PHOTOSHOOT WITH THE FINANCE BRIDES

A rainy day could not stop a dream team of wedding experts during a late summer bridal photo shoot at The Estate at Florentine Gardens. The photo shoot, featuring bridal industry infuencer, Courtney Lynn, from The Finance Brides @thefinancebrides, was staged perfectly, mostly indoors, by a team assembled by Steven Sendor, publisher of Sophisticated Weddings and Lisa Ivler Events. The afternoon started with makeup and hair beautifully executed by Magda Designs. Courtney only wore one gown for the shoot, which was provided by White House Bride, so only a few hair and makeup touch ups needed outside. Yes! The team did finally make it outside for the last couple of shots thanks to host, Ciro, from The Estate at Florentine Gardens. So much more than a venue, this family business has a lot of heart and dedication! Because they invested in a heated blower, the outdoor space and gardens can potentially be enjoyed by all, including couples that may have a little rain on their day.

Roman Jewelers is always given the pleasure and high honor of going last — you know, putting on the finishing touches: the jewelry. It is funny how a little sparkle really adds sparkle to everyone’s faces, too. Roman Jewelers placed an amazing engagement ring on Courtney’s finger that day, a 3 carat oval diamond set in an A. Jaffe ring. Rumor has it that it may have even sparked Courtney to think about an oval for her own future engagement ring.

There were a few pieces that Roman Jewelers added to compliment her gorgeous day-of look, including a stunning diamond necklace from Norman Silverman and additional diamond pieces curated by Lucy Zimmerman, owner of Roman Jewelers and stylist for the day. So what do you do when a little rain falls? You dance! Courtney was dancing in the rain that day, as she started thinking about her own future wedding day. Roman Jewelers was honored to be dancing right next to her. Stay tuned for more updates from Courtney @thefinancebrides and follow her as she talks all things weddings.

This exquisite oval engagement ring demands all the attention. With a large center stone suspended in a classic four- prong setting and complemented with graduated diamonds along each side, this ring is designed to be noticed. Total carat weight of 4.26.
