I normally use this letter each year to show appreciation for the good fortune we have had and to thank the many customers that make our business possible. This year I wanted to make a special tribute to my mother. My mother passed away recently at the age of 99. She would have turned 100 this November. Always quick witted and ready with a joke, she was a larger- than-life- personality. My father treated her as a Queen, and she held onto that until the very end. My parents taught me about thrift and having a good work ethic, two things that were instrumental in how our business started and still operates today. I remember in the 1970’s we invested everything we had in our business and scrimped and saved to make it work. Even today after becoming successful, I still live by those values my mother and father instilled in me — to work hard, use common sense and speak the truth. My mother was one of the greatest Chicago Cubs fans ever, having attended nearly every single spring training game and watching every regular season game on television over the last 30 years. When the Kansas City Royals played in the World Series in 2014 and 2015, our family made sure my mother was there in- person to experience these games. We flipped a coin to see who had the honor. A son-in-law won the toss and took her. The game we attended lasted 14 innings and she stayed the entire time. When we arrived home at 2:30 a.m., I asked her if she realized she had a curfew. Her team, the Chicago Cubs, at the time had a 107 year drought of never winning the World Series, which is still the longest on record. She had resigned she would never attend a World Series game. It turned out to be amazing and I cannot put a value on the experience with her. She will be greatly missed.

MARK & CHERYL
M ark and Cheryl took a mesmerizing trip to Greece and France leading up to their 25th wedding anniversary. Before the trip, Mark worked with Kelly and Megan, custom jewelry experts at Meierotto Jewelers, to create a fabulous ring to surprise Cheryl. With inspiration from Mark and Cheryl, Megan created a few sketches of how the ring would look. Kelly had remembered Cheryl’s vision from their past conversations and admired Mark’s romantic idea to surprise his wife. One of Meierotto’s passions is bringing
a customer’s vision to life through the thoughtful process of designing a custom piece of jewelry. A custom design can take shape over many conversations and design alternations, taking time to perfect.
Kelly knew this was a ring Cheryl had been talking about for years. “She adores diamond rings that are unique in size, but not chunky. Delicate and sparkly are key” explained Kelly. The structure of the ring is complex with a unique style. After the initial
designs were sketched, Mark and Kelly decided it would probably be best to get Cheryl involved. It was crucial to match her vision for this special gift. On their trip, while island hopping through Greece, they stopped in Santorini Island. During a romantic breakfast overlooking the sparkling blue ocean, Mark surprised Cheryl with a Meierotto Jewelers ring box. Inside, Cheryl found a rolled-up piece of paper with a sketch of a very intricate, elongated diamond ring. She was completely shocked and thrilled to learn Mark had started the process of designing her dream ring. After Mark and Cheryl returned home, they continued the design
process with our team. Together, they looked at other rings with similar structures and even used a ring from Cheryl’s collection as a size guide. The ring design was all about balance so it was not too heavy but maintaining a secure structure. The ring itself is rigid but allows for movement and does not restrict Cheryl’s finger from bending as it is domed to fit long over her knuckle. “It’s a blessing to have spent 25 years together,” shared Cheryl. “When we had talked about the ring years ago, I thought I would never end up having it made. It was a true surprise from Mark that he wanted to honor our anniversary with such a thoughtful gift. Kelly was so persistent about wanting me to really love it”, said Cheryl. Meierotto Jewelers is honored to have helped with this one of a kind masterpiece. It was well worth the time and effort to make sure the ring matched Cheryl’s unique style. We look forward to collaborating with Cheryl and Mark again in the future. Here’s to 25 more happy years!

AARON & GRACE
W ithout even knowing each other’s first name, Grace and Aaron met in March of 2018. Aaron and two of his closest friends had planned blind dates for each other for an evening of dinner and a show at the Nashville Symphony. The symphony performed a mashup of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 & Drake’s hit singles, a surprising but perfect combination. Little did they know, Aaron and Grace would be an even better match. Although Aaron and Grace had both been living in Nashville for the better part of a decade, they quickly realized that they grew up only 10 minutes from each other, Grace in Parkville and Aaron in Gladstone. They even attended the same Bible study program together for 5 years as children, have found photos with each other’s fami- ly in the background, and found out that the same doctor delivered each of them — the list goes on. What a small world! Being native to the Northland, Grace’s family have been customers of Meierotto Jewelers for nearly 30 years. All of her jewelry growing up came from Meierotto Jewelers, and she dreamed as a young
girl that her engagement ring would one day come from Meierotto Jewelers also. With both Grace and Aaron calling Kansas City home, they knew exactly where to go when the mention of marriage came up. They traveled all the way from Nashville to select their engagement ring. Grace and Aaron loved working with Jordan, and the couple said that she made the experience a truly treasured memory! Aaron surprised Grace with a knock-out ring in the Rocky Mountains, a very special place to her. Since Grace’s extended family has lived in Estes Park, Colorado, for nearly 100 years, Aaron knew that Lily Lake below Pikes Peaks would be the ideal place to ask for her hand in marriage. Later, after selecting their wedding bands, Carol joined the couple for a champagne toast and spent time getting to know their story. Aaron and Grace will be married October 2, 2022 just outside Nashville at a beautiful outdoor venue surrounded by the rolling Tennessee hills. Carol, Jordan and the whole Meierotto team feel very blessed to have had the chance to help Aaron and Grace with
their engagement ring and wedding bands. We always look forward to seeing them in KC when they come to visit. Cheers to the happy couple!

MOEN FAMILY
As time passes and generations create their own legacy, tough decisions are sometimes necessary. The process to evaluate and relinquish inherited property can be arduous and emotional for all involved. The Moen family found themselves in this situation in 2016, following the passing of Helen, the family matriarch. Fred Moen had purchased farmland in South Dakota and Iowa, keeping it in the family for decades. Although there were strong and deep memories of these farms, no one in the present-day family was able to oversee them. The decision to sell the farms and manage the financial aspects of the transactions became the responsibility of Mary, one of the 4 children in the Moen family. The last farm was sold in the fall of 2021. Mary’s brothers and sister, decided they should do something really nice for Mary to acknowledge her diligence and the demanding work. It was their brother Bob who suggested finding a piece of jewelry that would commemorate the family farm and land holdings. While visiting Mary in Kansas City, Martha learned her sister was having some jewelry made and how much Mary liked a particular jewelry store. In order to surprise her, Martha contacted Mary’s daughter to learn more about this jewelry store. She learned the jewelry store was Meierotto Jewelers, and immediately went to work. “I reached out and was put in contact with Megan at Meierotto Jewelers. She and I spoke, and Megan
immediately came up with some ideas,” explained Martha. Megan soon provided Mary with several sketches. I immediately fell in love with the idea of “farm rows” of
diamonds, and so did my brothers. Megan and I continued contact regarding the design, size of diamond and chain style,” said Martha. She continued, “This was very meaningful to all of us and we knew how much Mary had to take on to sell each of these farms. In the end, I think the last farm to sell was a bit sentimental for all of us, which brought even more significance to the gift.” “Megan was so great to work with, and I would highly recommend her and Meierotto Jewelers.” said Martha. Determining as a family to proceed with the task of liquidating family property that held dear memories is quite difficult. To be able to come together in a decision as a family is such an honor to the Moen family name.
ANAMARIA & PHIL 15 years ago, after a year of Phil’s daily proposals, AnaMaria finally said yes to her soulmate while in Las Vegas. The couple didn’t want to wait another minute to start the rest of their lives together, so while in Vegas they secured an 8:30pm ceremony on a memorable date of 07-07-07. For the impromptu ceremony, AnaMaria wore a simple $89 slip dress and they used a ring Phil had previously given AnaMaria as a gift; one she wore daily. When they returned home they went together to pick out a wedding set. It was a subsequent marriage for both of them, so they became a blended family with a combined total of five children. Now, with most of the children out of the house, AnaMaria and Phil are in a new stage of life. To celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary, Phil chose to upgrade AnaMaria’s wedding ring to a spectacular new diamond with a custom mounting to display it. With so much sentimental value being attached to her first wedding set from Phil, AnaMaria couldn’t imagine parting with it. Our Sales Executive,
Margaret, could tell what the ring meant to her. In order to continue to cherish it, and eventually pass it down to her children they decided to change it into a right hand ring. By remounting the original diamond into a new setting with emeralds, it became an ode to Phil’s favorite color of green. Now, AnaMaria can wear both of them as a reminder of their beautiful journey together. We have truly
enjoyed helping Phil and AnaMaria with this momentous occasion. We wish them all the best!

In 1965, Seiko introduced its and Japan’s first-ever diver’s watch. It incorporated an automatic mechanical caliber and delivered a then extraordinary 150-meter water resistance. The watch was designed for maximum reliability and legibility in the harshest conditions and was used by the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition from 1966 to 1969. Today, in commemoration of this Diver’s legacy, the landmark 1965 design has also been re-interpreted with contemporary styling, upgraded materials, and the 24-jewel 6R35 mechanical movement with a remarkable 70-hour power reserve. The Save the Ocean Special Edition honors the legacy of the original 1965 model featuring a deep blue patterned dial recalling the textures and colors of glacial ice in the polar regions where the history of Seiko diver’s watches began.

The 1970 Seiko Ref. 6105 was one of the most memorable timepieces of its era thanks to its exceptional strength and unique design. PAM & JUDY O ne of our favorite things about jewelry is that it always tells a story. It’s the emotions we attach, the
sentimental value of the piece and the life it lives. There’s something even more special when a piece has been worn and treasured by one, and then passed along to another. We’d like to share a story about how one family chose to honor the matriarch of their family by turning her original rings into custom family heirlooms to match the style of her daughters and granddaughters. It all started when Judy and Pam
each inherited a ring from their mother after she passed. “My mom loved these rings!” recalled Judy. While it was clear they cherished these rings their mom enjoyed so much, Pam and Judy wanted their daughters to have a piece of jewelry to honor their grandmother. They decided to take the stones from the original two rings, divide them and create six new pieces of jewelry. One of the original rings had a four-diamond center, set in a beautiful marquise ring guard and the second was a stunning diamond cluster ring their mom inherited from a dear friend when she passed. Judy remembers her mother wearing these two rings daily. Pam and Judy decided to meet with Meierotto Jewelers to brainstorm how to create new, custom different styles pieces. Jenny and Megan came together as a team to work on the jewelry designs. “Working with Meierotto Jewelers was amazing! They knew the sentimental value and emotions attached to these pieces and guided us each step of the way. We took several weeks just getting the rings separated along with dividing the stones. Figuring out the design was a project in itself. The team was able to sketch the details to make our thoughts a reality,” shared Judy. Originally, Pam and Judy thought they would make matching bands

for all six of them, but quickly discovered they each have a unique sense of style. The result was four new rings, two necklaces and a pair of earrings. Each family member now has a piece of jewelry to cherish, just like their mom and grandmother did. “It was so exciting to see what each person created! We are very grateful to be able to carry such a special piece of her with us,” said Judy.

We truly enjoy celebrating in these victories, small or large, with you. One of our customers, Mark, has celebrated several personal moments with gifts from Meierotto Jewelers and has been a great friend of our store for many years. He is the 4th generation owner of a commercial laundry company. This group is based in Kansas City with additional operations in St. Louis and Denver. A few years ago, they sold to a company in Philadel- phia and Mark joined the new executive team. A focal point for Mark was to renew the company’s largest client, a very large healthcare system. With determination and lots of hard work, his team secured the deal; a major milestone for the company. When he was asked to travel to Philadelphia for a team celebration, Mark decided he wanted to take it up a notch. He really wanted to show his appreciation to the new executive team for their hard work and to acknowledge the efforts it took to land this deal. He reached out to Jenny Meierotto, who had guided him in his own gift giving in the past. They connected, brainstormed together and chose a gift for each of the top executives, a new Breitling watch. They were careful in their decisions,
choosing three unique and specific watches to match the personality and style of each recipient. Breitling is known for their quality and offers a wide collection of luxury watches, making the brand a perfect match for Mark’s team. “Jenny was as usual, most generous with her time and expertise,” shared Mark. Wanting to add a personal touch, Mark had the Meierotto Jewelers team engrave the back of each watch. The careful thought along with personalization demonstrated Mark’s desire to represent this occasion. When it came time to give his team their gifts, Mark arrived at the restaurant early looping the waitstaff in on his plan. He asked them to bring each box out separately on its own plate and present the gift to each executive. “They were truly blown away and beyond appreciative,” Mark recalled. This was the first time Mark had purchased a corporate gift and they were clearly surprised. With the help of Meierotto Jewelers, Mark was able to take a memorable executive dinner and make it an extraordinary and special night; one that properly represented this moment in time. AYO & ARAMIDE
A yo, being a self-proclaimed helpless romantic, wanted to give Aramide the fantasy proposal and ring that every woman deserves. He chose Meierotto Jewelers for the im- portant purchase and curated a masterpiece with our sales executive, Holly. “From the first time I walked in and met Holly, it was smooth sailing,” said Ayo. “Her expertise, calm, and unwavering support blew my mind. I would highly rec- ommend Meierotto Jewelers to any and every one.” When it came down to the proposal, Ayo decided to pick an iconic location in one of their favorite cities — The Lon- don Eye. Thinking they were going out for a simple birth- day dinner, Aramide was surprised when she and Ayo were suddenly atop the beautiful Millenium Wheel overlooking the River Thames. He had reserved a private capsule with a private host, champagne — the works. Right at the top of the Ferris wheel, with nerves out of control, Ayo asked Aramide to become his bride. The moment was flawless. “The reveal of my engagement ring truly took my breath away. The diamond cut is absolutely beautiful and the pave infinity band is so exquisite,” Aramide says. Following their private moments on the ferris wheel they were greeted by family who had flown in from the United States and other parts of the United Kingdom to surprise the couple and share in their excitement. “In es- sence, it was the best birthday ever” recalls Aramide. “I love who Ayo is, what he stands for and the peace I feel whenev- er I’m with him. Not only do we see life in very similar ways but our goals and dreams are aligned. The couple is now navigating a lot of change in addition to planning their wedding events. Given their Nigerian her- itage, weddings include several major events, so they will be celebrating in multiple cities and time zones over the next year. They have started new jobs, are building a home, and Aramide will soon be in Kansas City permanently, moving here from Cleveland. Ayo summarized their relationship well when he said, “I’m excited for our future together. We continue to place a high premium on respect, kindness, and radically candid communication within our relationship. ALEX & CAITLIN
A lex met the love of his life in law school. Caitlin was in her last year and Alex in his first year. “She helped guide me through the end of law school” Alex says. of champagne and Alex shared he had one more surprise up his sleeve. Before the trip, he had gathered videos of their closest family and friends sending
their congratulations and love from “across the pond”. As Caitlin and Alex shared these special moments together as a new engaged couple happy tears fell as they watched the videos. We loved how Alex was able to connect this very intimate moment, so far away from Kansas City, with the familiar faces of home. Since then, Caitlin and Alex have eloped in Las Vegas with their siblings as witnesses. They are enjoying married life in Kansas City frequently playing tennis, and loving on their two cats. We wish them years of happiness together!

M eierotto Jewelers found another gem a couple of years ago when Jordan started on our team. With five previous years of experience Jordan jumped right in. “I knew Meierotto Jewelers was the most prestigious jewelry store in the Kansas City area. I also wanted to expand my opportunities and sell higher end jewelry. Coming from a small town, I was excited to work with a family owned business.” She continued to explain, “This has become the perfect place to meld my passion for selling jewelry while working with a well established business with a great reputation.” One of Jordan’s passions is helping select the perfect engagement ring. She said, “Getting engaged is a pivotal time in life. I love guiding my customers through an important and happy moment in their relationship. Each customer has a unique style that leads us to the right ring for them. I enjoy seeing all of the different ways customers express their personality through their engagement ring. Seeing the
look on their face when they see the final product is so wonderful!” She continued to explain that Meierotto’s provides a unique opportunity for those choosing a diamond. “I can help my customer decide every aspect about their diamond: the color, clarity, size, and shape while having certainty we will have the diamond in stock. I work with bold, problem solving women who I look up to and I can’t wait to learn from them for many more years.” Jordan enjoys kayaking, rock climbing, and reading when she is outside of work. She even has a cat named Onyx, a nod to her love of gemstones.
