The Ultra-Chron is another pure Longines sports watch, this one beating at 10 beats a second, or 36,000 vph (the average watch movement beats at 28,800 vph). Longines has a rich history in creating high-frequency movements, a quality that enhances the accuracy and reliability of a mechanical watch. In 1968 it launched the Ultra-Chron Diver, the first dive watch to be equipped with a high-frequency movement. Even before that, in 1959, it developed the first high-beat movement for a wristwatch that set new records in terms of accuracy.
