5th generation Clark, recent Fine Arts graduate from the University of Oklahoma, Art Teacher at Midwest City H.S.

transformed I n the realm of artistry, creativity knows no limits. Artists continually seek inspiration and innovative avenues to express their imagination, whether through traditional canvas paintings or digital masterpieces. In the heart of the BC Clark family, there is a treasure trove of artistic talent and we feel truly fortunate to introduce you to one of those talents, Emmy Clark. Emmy is a fifth-generation Clark and is the daughter of President Coleman Clark. She is an accomplished University of Oklahoma Fine Arts graduate and we are excited to watch her passion for creativity come alive in our stores. Over the past few years, Emmy has completed several remarkable commissioned pieces, yet her latest creation stands out among the rest for the time and creativity she poured into it. Emmy seamlessly blended intricate artistic elements with vintage components sourced from our jewelers’ and watchmakers’ workshops to craft a unique masterpiece for our newly renovated Downtown location.

EMMY CLARK’S ARTISTIC JOURNEY

Embedded within these paintings are fragments of gold, the delicate gears, springs, and wheels that drive timepieces, repurposed repair materials, watch bracelets, buckles, and other recycled compenents, resulting in a pair of complementary works of art. The paintings represent a captivating union of mechanics and aesthetics, coming together to form the working intricate details of a watch movement. We chatted with Emmy on her inspiration and dedication to making these pieces in this fun Q&A session.

14 BC CLARK MAGAZINE

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED ARTISTIC MEDIUM, AND WHAT LED YOU TO CHOOSE IT? My preferred medium is mixed media. It all began during my senior year of college. While I’ve always leaned toward painting, specifically acrylic and oil, I found myself yearning to incorporate texture into my work. I started attaching various textures to my canvases, scavenging materials from my parents’ craft room in the house where I grew up. String, yarn, beads, buttons, pipe cleaners, puff balls, perler beads, and fabrics — all found their place on my canvases. Once these textures were affixed, I would paint over them. This unique approach immediately drew me in.

15 BC CLARK MAGAZINE

HOW DID YOU INFUSE ELEMENTS OF THE JEWELRY INDUSTRY INTO YOUR PAINTINGS? For the BC Clark paintings, I knew I wanted to create heavily textured pieces. To weave in elements from the jewelry industry, I sought materials beyond buttons and yarn. I spent several days exploring the dark basement of BC Clark’s Downtown store, as well as the jewelry and watch workshops, collecting chains, watch parts (including watch faces, clasps, watch bands, watch crystals, batteries, and tiny gears and screws), charms, pin backs, and more. Once I had amassed my textures, the concept for the paintings began to take shape. Given BC Clark’s rich history in selling and servicing high-end mechanical watches, I decided to paint the intricate inner workings of a mechanical watch. I also aimed to ensure that both paintings complemented each other, forming a complete watch movement when placed side by side. WHAT WAS THE MOST ENJOYABLE ASPECT OF CREATING THESE PAINTINGS FOR YOU? My favorite part of the creative process was the entire journey. It all begins with sketching out my design and applying an initial layer of paint to the canvas. Subsequently, I meticulously lay down my chosen textures, followed by another layer of paint over the textures. The final step involves adding intricate details, shadows, highlights, and extra texture to bring the artwork to life.

IS ART YOUR FULL-TIME PURSUIT? In a sense, yes. I serve as a full-time art teacher at Midwest City High School. I also engage in art creation and commissions during my free time whenever the opportunity arises!

WE ARE THRILLED TO EXHIBIT THESE SPECIAL WORKS OF ART AT OUR DOWNTOWN STORE. THROUGH HER ARTISTRY, EMMY BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO FORGOTTEN OR DISCARDED COMPONENTS, PAYING HOMAGE NOT ONLY TO HER OWN CREATIVE JOURNEY BUT ALSO TO THE INDUSTRY THAT HAS PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN HER FAMILY’S LEGACY.

R oberto Coin, the maestro of Italian jewelry design, has a way of putting a new twist on his most beloved collections, with hundreds of new designs every year that complement and build on previous favorites. This year, he adds a literal twist to his Love in Verona collection, with new pieces incorporating a twisted gold motif — perhaps reflecting the twisted fate of the Verona lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who inspired the collection. Roberto has added diamonds to some of the pieces, either in the form of pavé on rings and bangles or lined up riviera-style on classic line or Y necklaces. In some pieces, diamonds form the petals of the signature four-petal flower motif. THE ROMANTIC, TWISTED, COLORFUL DESIGNS OF ITALIAN MASTER ROBERTO COIN

The rectangular elements of Roberto’s Domino collection were inspired by the pieces used in the Chinese game of the same name, with repeated elements that symbolically trigger the domino effect. Gold and diamonds certainly elevate the game, making every wearer a winner!

Counterclockwise across spread: Venetian Princess Large Lapis and Diamond Bracelet in Rose Gold, $7,700. Venetian Princess Large Lapis and Diamond Earrings in Rose Gold, $8,500. Paperclip Link Necklace with White Gold Diamond Link, $8,400. Duchessa Satin Finish Door Knocker Earrings, $2,150.

Small Diamante Necklace in White Gold, $1,990. Diamante Diamond Earrings in White Gold, $2,900. Venetian Princess Diamond Bangle, $4,950.

20 BC CLARK MAGAZINE

The Cialoma collection is also inspired by tragic romance. The name comes from an old Sicilian ballad about a sailor who is torn between his love for a woman and his love of the sea. The collection has a nautical theme, with a sailor’s knot motif running through it. New pieces include open links and open- style cuffs and rings, which can be worn with flattened knots facing in or out. Of course, there are plenty of diamond accents, because what’s a love story without diamonds?

The Duchessa collection is all about traditional Italian craftsmanship and design, with spectacular doorknocker earrings, satin-finished, or pavé- adorned gold pieces this year.

New in the Navarra collection, inspired by the Navarra region of Spain, are newly styled Y necklaces, flat open linked bangles and, as in the rest of Roberto’s collections this year, plenty of diamond accents. Look for random dangling chains and diamonds placed in surprising places!

For those who love the symmetry and precision of mosaic patterns, the Mosaic collection offers a special visual treat this year, with interspersed panels of polished gold, diamonds, black jade, malachite, and turquoise (one of the hottest gems of the season, and also newly added to the Venetian Princess collection!). The addition of large ball-shaped pendants really makes the collection pop this year.

A GOLDEN LEGACY ITALY’S RICH HERITAGE OF GOLDSMITHING

A s you stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets of an enchanting Italian town, the warm sun casts a golden glow on the vibrant facades of centuries-old buildings. The air is filled with an unmistakable artistic aura, drawing you deeper into the heart of a place where creativity thrives. The melodic sounds of clinking tools and hushed conversations spill out from open workshop doors, teasing your curiosity. It is here, amid the timeless charm and whispered legends, that you begin to sense the intangible spirit of Italy’s illustrious goldsmithing heritage. A land known for its artistic mastery and rich cultural heritage, Italy has long been synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship. Among its many treasures, the tradition of goldsmithing stands out as a shining symbol of the nation’s cultural wealth and artistic brilliance. For centuries, Italian goldsmiths have been renowned for their exceptional skills, transforming precious metals into intricate and timeless works of art. Goldsmithing in Italy can be traced back to ancient times. The Etruscans, an ancient civilization that thrived in Italy between the 8th and 3rd centuries BCE, were revered for their masterful goldsmithing techniques. Their intricate gold jewelry, often adorned with detailed filigree and granulation work, showcased their unparalleled artistry. Roman goldsmiths further refined these techniques, creating stunning pieces that reflected the grandeur and opulence of the Roman Empire. THE RENAISSANCE ERA The Renaissance period marked a significant milestone in Italian goldsmithing. Artists and goldsmiths collaborated closely, resulting in extraordinary creations that merged the worlds of art and craftsmanship. Cities such as Florence, Venice, and Rome became vibrant centers of goldsmithing, attracting talented artisans from across Italy and beyond. The Medici family of Florence played a pivotal role in fostering the art of goldsmithing, supporting renowned artists like Benvenuto Cellini, whose exceptional skill and creativity left an indelible mark on the craft.

DISTINCTIVE TECHNIQUES AND STYLES Italian goldsmiths developed unique techniques and styles that set them apart. The art of filigree, delicate metalwork created by twisting and shaping fine wires, became a hallmark of Italian goldsmithing. Granulation, the meticulous application of tiny gold beads, added intricate texture and dimension to jewelry. These techniques, passed down through generations, continue to be cherished and practiced by modern Italian goldsmiths.

CONTEMPORARY GOLDSMITHING In the present day, Italy’s goldsmithing tradition thrives with a blend of timeless craftsmanship and innovative design. From the historic jewelry houses of Milan to small ateliers in artisanal towns like Arezzo and Vicenza, Italian goldsmiths continue to create breathtaking pieces that captivate the world. They embrace both traditional techniques and cutting-edge technologies, blending the old and the new to produce jewelry that is both classic and contemporary.

PRESERVING A LEGACY Italy recognizes the significance of preserving its goldsmithing heritage and has taken measures to ensure its longevity. Institutions like the Vicenza Jewelry Museum and the Goldsmiths Guild of Florence actively promote and support the craft through exhibitions, workshops, and educational programs. These initiatives foster the growth of new talent while honoring the legacy of the master goldsmiths who came before.

MARCO BICEGO ACADEMY TRAINING THE NEXT GENERATION OF MASTER GOLDSMITHS

Marco Bicego, founder and creative director.

M arco Bicego, the renowned Italian fine jewelry brand celebrated for its nature- inspired collections, has embarked on an extraordinary new journey: the Marco Bicego Academy, a prestigious training program designed to nurture and develop new master goldsmiths and professional jewelry artisans. This unique initiative combines formal classroom teaching, structured hands-on training, and personalized coaching to enhance the brand’s specialized production capacity and create a legacy for generations to come. In collaboration with recruitment agency Gi Group and the Vicenza Professional School of Art and Crafts, the academy has initiated a comprehensive artisan recruiting and selection process to identify talented individuals to learn the revered craft of goldsmithing. Throughout an intensive and immersive 120-hour training program, artisans learn and develop their handcrafting skills under careful guidance from the industry’s finest. By passing on this old-world technique to the next generation, Marco Bicego is enshrining its heritage and influencing jewelry-making for decades. “The importance of learning and mastering a craft seems to be a recommendation from the past,” says Marco Bicego, founder and creative director of the eponymous brand. “Instead, it is very current, and it can be prestigious.”

“We have launched this academy to enhance the quality of our work and make our territory attractive again,” he says. “It is part of our mission to preserve and elevate historical savoir-faire, supporting the bond with our local community and the territory where our goldsmith tradition originates.”

From backgrounds diverse in experience and expertise, every artisan to attend the academy embarks on a transformative journey, mastering old-world techniques. One of those techniques is burin engraving, an exquisite distinctive handcrafted process synonymous with the brand’s heritage. Relying on an ancient tool, the burin engraving technique dates back to the 15th century, with Maso Finiguerra being one of the first notable Italian goldsmiths to utilize the process. With quick, meticulous motions, artisans scratch into gold, leaving behind fine lines that produce a smooth yet captivating brushed texture. More than 5,000 hand movements go into each design, and no two pieces

are alike. That makes each necklace, earring, and ring one-of-a-kind.

Bicego is revered for his ability to fuse ancient traditions with contemporary creativity. He has developed this signature style that resonates with women seeking refined yet unconventional luxury for their everyday lives. His designs draw inspiration from the organic shapes found in nature, the allure of 18k yellow gold, and the captivating radiance of precious gemstones. Present in more than 50 countries worldwide, Marco Bicego has become one of the world’s most prestigious jewelry brands. Now, as the company embarks on this remarkable journey to nurture a new generation of master artisans, the brand reaffirms its commitment to excellence, innovation, and the preservation of time-honored craftsmanship.

A flight might take you through Atlanta and then onto Panama City. From there a 30 minute drive will bring you to a paradise designed to facilitate a rewind and refresh. They had been vacationing in the area for years,

and the spur-of-the-moment purchase was intended to provide a retreat for the family and their employees. Smart man that he was, patriarch Elton Stephens named the paradise after his beloved, Alys. All of Alys Beach’s 158 acres are within a short and pleasant walk of the coast, and walkability was the intent, with easy access to the town center’s many shops and restaurants.

HANS WILSDORF WAS FIRMLY CONVINCED OF A PERSON’S ABILITY TO INNOVATE AND STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE. MORE THAN 100 YEARS AFTER THE CREATION OF THE BRAND, THE FOUNDER’S PHILOSOPHY IS MORE PRESENT THAN EVER, FROM THE MANUFACTURING OF THE COMPANY’S WATCHES TO ITS COMMITMENTS WORLDWIDE. A VOYAGE INTO THE WORLD OF ROLEX

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE Since the beginning, the story of Rolex has been characterized by the quest for perfection and the ambition to push back boundaries.

44 BC CLARK MAGAZINE

A t the turn of the 20th century, a visionary entrepreneur based in London was on the verge of success. His aim? To introduce the watchmaking world of the day to an as-yet- unknown dial signature: Rolex. A new name, invented in 1908, it would become one of the world’s most respected brands in the space of a few decades. As Hans Wilsdorf recounted in his memoirs of the early days of his company, the opposition he faced seemed insurmountable at first. The entrepreneur started out with very little, but he did possess invaluable qualities: vision, perseverance, and an extraordinary ability to work. An orphan at the age of 12, with nothing other than his determination to help him overcome challenges, Hans Wilsdorf went on to invent the world’s first waterproof self-winding wristwatch with a Perpetual rotor — a watch that has become a benchmark in terms of quality and prestige. “Too complicated, too fragile, ill-adapted” — the wristwatch was met with skepticism. Yet, relying on his firmly-held beliefs, Hans Wilsdorf managed to achieve his bold objective of establishing the Rolex watch — the Oyster Perpetual — as the archetype of the waterproof timepiece: precise, robust, and able to withstand all conditions. But he was not simply a visionary who endowed Rolex watches with their fundamental technical and aesthetic characteristics. His constant quest for perfection was accompanied by a profound generosity and unshakable faith in human potential. UNITING EXPERTISE An integrated and independent company, Rolex has manufacturing resources that encompass a wide range of skills and knowledge. Watchmakers, engineers, designers, and other specialists work closely together from the design to the manufacturing

of the watches. Rolex’s company culture is based above all on human values, which place both expertise and soft skills at the heart of the brand’s different activities. Rolex is host to a variety of professions, brought to life by employees who are experts in their fields. The company has complete control over its essential components, from the casting of gold alloys to machining, finishing, and assembly of the movement, case, dial, and bracelet elements, as well as gem-setting. Its know-how is also made available right across the world thanks to an exceptional after-sales service network. To ensure the brand’s expertise exists into the future, Rolex has its own unique training center. Dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and the development of its employees, the center, located in Geneva, provides training to employees and instructs apprentices. The company aims to pass on to younger generations its pride in its skills and mastery of its knowledge. A WATCH UNLIKE THE REST The Oyster Perpetual collection was built on the success of the original

Oyster model, patented by Rolex and launched in 1926. As the world’s first waterproof wristwatch, it played a pioneering role in the development of the modern timepiece. Over the years, the Oyster became the proud bearer of many other innovations — such as self-winding by means of the Perpetual rotor (1931) — that defined the identity of the models in the collection and forged Rolex’s reputation for excellence, of which chronometric precision and reliability are among the cornerstones. The Oyster gradually evolved into a collection of watches that integrated new functions and innovative technologies. All the models share fundamental features and a strong visual identity. Today the collection consists of 12 ranges, split into two categories: classic watches such as the Datejust and the Day-Date, and professional watches, including the Explorer and the GMT-Master II. As the pioneer of the wristwatch, the company is at the origin of numerous major innovations in the watchmaking industry and has filed over 500 patents in the course of its history.

STREAMLINED COLLECTION David Yurman’s sleek is every man’s jewelry

N o longer an afterthought, fine jewelry is now part of every man’s signature style. And if you don’t already know it, American jeweler David Yurman is the go-to brand for masculine, sleek, comfortable men’s jewelry. His signature pieces are often referred to as “live in” pieces, because they never come off. “It feels easy and effortless,” says singer Shawn Mendes, the company’s new brand ambassador, when talking about what attracted him to David Yurman’s designs. “I’ve always worn these jewelry pieces because they are special but also subtle enough for me to feel comfortable in my own skin.” Take the new Streamlined collection, which expresses a masculine yet polished style with minimalist 18k gold and silver pieces that elevate any look, from a suit to jeans and T-shirt. The essentials include a smooth 18k yellow gold ID bracelet, a sculpted silver chain-link necklace, and a sleek gold amulet pendant outlined with a thin line of diamonds.

DUSTY HUNTER

I n 2020, wine importer and distributor Caroline Debbané discovered a noteworthy alcohol collection in a cellar in Lakeview Terrace, a suburb in the San Fernando Valley. The collection belonged to Hollywood heavyweight producer Cecil B. DeMille ( The Ten Commandments, King of Kings ). Over 200 bottles were found — some empty, some full — of spirits, wines, and ports. The exceptional collection was just sold for five figures, a major score for a growing legion of booze “dusty hunters.” The New York Times

hit shelves. They are often still marked with the original price sticker from 1970! Be careful, though, loose lips can actually backfire on you. A less-than-savvy hunter calls a shop owner and makes some comment on how much more a located bottle is worth, and lo-and-behold, when they arrive, they find a shiny new, market value sticker price. The real rule is if you see it, buy it, leave, and give thanks to the whiskey gods. This booze hunting hobby has truly grown nationwide, making it more difficult to procure vintage treasures. After all, prices for collectors

have skyrocketed. Over the past decade, people have begun to realize that buying old bottles is like building an investment portfolio. In some cases, bottles that cost $20 have become worth as much as

describes dusty hunters as people searching for “still- sealed bottles of vintage alcohol, usually American whiskey.” However, cruising around town hunting for bottles of George

GREAT VINTAGE WHISKEYS ARE NOT BORN...THEY ARE FOUND

Whiskey has a unique status as an investable item because it has a very stable longevity compared to other alternate investments. Distilleries no longer in production still enjoy confident positions in whiskey investor rankings, because their diminishing stock appreciates in value the more time passes. In addition, as with most commodities, production and inventory levels are down, creating attractive investment opportunities.

$800. Hunting these bottles down is a lot more fun than buying a stock. Like treasure hunting shipwrecks in the Caribbean, it is exhilarating, exciting, and lends itself to great adventures. If you’re looking to get into dusty hunting, follow the exploits of Eric Witz; his Instagram @aphonik goes into minute detail about many of his discoveries. Or you could check out bars that showcase their owner’s extensive collections, be it Canon in Seattle, Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar & Kitchen in New York City, The Crunkleton in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Milk Room in Chicago, Old Lightning in Los Angeles, or the Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington, D.C. With the recent proliferation of collectors, there are sure to be more examples every day.

T. Stagg isn’t just a fruitless endeavor — it’s a quite foolish one as well. That’s not exactly dusty hunting. Dusty hunting is more readily recognized as driving to out-of-the-way liquor stores in small towns and remote locations in search of old bottles. Not all dusty bottles are desirable, of course. You’ll need to be able to read barcodes, identify tax stamps, and know where good “juice” was distilled and when. Opportunists who have developed these skills could end up scoring some major rarities — rarities most folks aren’t schooled enough to even know are worthy. Why? Because whiskey doesn’t age — or usually degrade — once bottled, no matter how old it gets. The real bonus is that these dusties can often be found for the low, low retail prices at which they first

JEWELRY + MEN

We’re living in a golden age of personal expression, trending across race, gender, age, and status, and that means there’s never been a better time for men to flex with some well-chosen jewelry. Here are a few suggestions to help dapper dudes start — or add to — their collections.

Beaded Hybrid Triple Wrap Bracelet by John Hardy, $850.

Classic Chain Carabiner Bracelet in Sterling Silver by John Hardy, $750. Opal Beaded Bracelet by John Hardy, $750. Classic Chain Reversible Bracelet by John Hardy, $1,995.

Necklaces are a fantastic category for men to consider. A chain of any length and size can be tucked inside a shirt for an understated approach or pulled free to drape proudly across the chest. Smaller links give a subtle look, while chunky chains have a bold beauty of their own. Many men’s pendants feature silhouettes inspired by dog tags to evoke the qualities of strength, bravery, and honor associated with traditional military styles. Layering allows for maximum versatility and self-expression: wear one necklace alone or stack a few together to build your own look. Wristwear is another jewelry genre for the modern man. Like watches, bracelets are visible when worn but won’t get in a busy guy’s way as he goes about his day. From the chic gleam of a sleek cuff peeking out from a tailored shirtsleeve to the compelling texture of a leather bracelet accentuating a powerful forearm, there are many options available for the man who wants to try rocking a bracelet. A well-chosen chain will go with any outfit, while beaded and braided styles can be a great way to add some flair to a bracelet without making it feel overly fussy. We can’t talk about men’s jewelry without mentioning rings. Many men are already comfortable wearing a wedding band, so why not consider acquiring a wardrobe of alternate wedding bands to switch up the mood for different occasions? If we look beyond the fourth finger of the left hand, many men find themselves drawn to signet rings. These hefty, bold, often personalized pieces date back to ancient times, when a nobleman would wear a signet with his official seal to mark correspondence. Today, signet rings are usually engraved with initials or meaningful symbols, or set with gems. Decorative knives are another great way to express personal style. They are often made by experienced jewelry designers and can display truly luxurious craftsmanship. Beautiful blades, adorned handles, and thoughtful details make these pieces of weaponry feel more like portable art than mere tools. Today, men who wear jewelry are associated with power and panache; throughout history, jewelry has been worn by kings, pirates, rock stars, and trendsetters. Not convinced or need more style inspo? TIME THE MANY COLORS OF

LUXURY WATCHMAKERS HAVE DISCOVERED THE POWER OF COLOR!

Bold colored straps and dials were once the trademark of quartz fashion watches, but now luxury watch brands have discovered the color wheel, and they are taking it to the next level. It’s no longer just about pink straps and purple tinted dials — although there is plenty of that — but infusing components of the watch with permanent color. That means new case materials, anodized or illuminated bridges and other components of the movement, colored dial plates that have been treated with vibrant enamel and miniature painting, and, of course, plenty of dazzling gem setting, including various applications of rainbow sapphires. The result is a blast of intense, joyful, edgy color that is beyond refreshing. The combination of hand-craftsmanship, mechanical movements, precious metals, colorful gemstones and high- watchmaking finishes such as grand feu, champlevé, or plique-à-jour enamel are a winning formula. Not only do they add up to unrivalled beauty but they also add value. That makes luxury watches more collectible and sought- after by aficionados than ever before. Among the new introductions for ladies, pink is hot right now — to match your pink diamonds! — and purple is emerging in unlikely places, not just on ladies’ watches but on some daring men’s pieces. The hottest colors for men include blue, green, and salmon. Salmon is especially interesting from a collectible point of view. The color is often used on special editions, with high complications or platinum cases — watches that are very limited and highly coveted. Salmon dials are also a craze in the vintage sector — the color was popular in the 1940s, and pieces made by luxury brands from that period are hot. Here are a few examples of how color is heating up the luxury watch market right now.

ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL CELEBRATION Rolex has pulled out all the creative stops in its 2023 collection, including this joyful take on the traditional Oyster Perpetual. The dial is lacquered with 51 bubbles in bright colors: turquoise blue, candy pink, yellow, coral, red, and green. Each color is applied and fired separately, followed by the application of black lacquer borders on each bubble. Sizes begin small, at 31 mm, and there are also 36 mm and 41 mm sizes. All cases are steel, and movements are automatic.

TAG HEUER CARRERA DATE TAG Heuer takes to the pink end of the spectrum with the Carrera Date, which also has a new tapered bracelet and an upgraded movement, the caliber 7 automatic. The pink dial is only one of the colors available for this model. There is also a mint green, which is emerging as a strong color on watch dials, along with navy blue and silver. The deep flange carries the color right to the bezel.

TUDOR ROYAL

Among the 13 dial options in the Tudor Royal collection is this new salmon tone, one of the shiniest variations of the trend, with a sunray pattern radiating out from the center. The Royal is a crowd-pleasing gender-neutral option, with 28, 34, and 38 mm case sizes to choose from. The applied numerals and COSC-rated movement give it a luxury watch vibe.

BREITLING PREMIER CHRONOGRAPH As Breitling’s most important heritage watch, the Premier represents the brand’s transition from producing tool watches for the military in the 1940s to creating more elegant chronographs for the wider market. The salmon dial is a nod both to its vintage roots and its modern, trendy aesthetic.

OMEGA

travels the world

in speed and style

O mega’s Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer is a go-to travel watch and a robust sports watch all in one package. Three new versions include a titanium edition and two stainless steel pieces. All three are more sporty than conventional worldtimers, with green rubber strap options for the steel versions and a black rubber strap for the titanium. At the center of each dial is a vision of earth viewed from the North Pole, made by laser-ablating continents and colors on a grade 5 titanium surface. The outer world time city ring includes Bienne, Switzerland, where Omega is based. All three have scratch-resistant ceramic bezels (black for the titanium piece and green for the steel) and use Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8938 movements. They are sports-sized large, at 43 mm, and water resistant to 150 meters.

The Speedmaster Super Racing Edition is the debut venue for Omega’s fine- tune Spirate System, a revolutionary new spiral attached to the movement’s balance spring that allows for ultra-fine rate adjustments. The new, patent-pending component makes it possible to achieve a precision of between 0 and +2 seconds a day, a remarkable new standard in watchmaking. (By comparison, the official Swiss chronometer testing agency, COSC, guarantees a watch’s precision to within -4 to +6 seconds per day). It is used in the Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 9920. The Speedmaster Super Racing Edition is built for speed: it’s a chronograph with a black ceramic bezel etched with a yellow grand feu enamel tachymeter index. Conveniently, the watch’s 60 minute/12 hour recorder at 3 o’clock also serves as a second time zone.
