Bachendorf's Magazine Fall/Winter 2025

How and where did you two first meet?

From the start, Eric knew his pro- posal to Fallon had to be more than a simple question. It needed to reflect the depth of their love, the uniqueness of their bond, and the thoughtfulness he poured into every part of their re- lationship. It had to be one-of-a-kind, deeply personal, and — above all — a surprise. Months before the moment itself, Eric began laying the groundwork. Over dinner with Fallon’s father, Lawrence, he spoke about family, the future, and his excitement to be join- ing their lives together. Lawrence not only gave his blessing but also became an invaluable partner in the planning — especially when it came to the ring. Eric approached the design with equal parts creativity and care. He studied Fallon’s jewelry line, listened for subtle hints she’d left over time, and even drafted the first sketches himself. The heart-shaped diamond was always at the center of his vision, though he jokingly pretended to be uncertain to keep her guessing. With Lawrence’s guidance and expert input, the design went through many revi- sions before arriving at a ring that was elegant, timeless, and perfectly her. With the ring complete, Eric turned to the proposal. The timing aligned with Fallon and Lawrence’s travels through Europe, and Antwerp quickly became the ideal setting — romantic, historic, and unexpected. The plan required secrecy and careful timing. On departure day, Eric drove Fallon to the airport, wished her a safe flight, then quietly circled back, changed into a disguise, and boarded a separate flight that landed ahead of hers.

ERIC: “A friend of ours threw a Christ- mas party that I helped set up. We both arrived early, I knew who she was, she had no clue who I was. I had a chance to talk to her a little bit at the Christmas party but not a lot so when it was over I pushed the group to go out to a bar. I had some friends looking out for me so they made sure we all went and then left us two alone at Bowen House and we got to talk for a few more hours. By the end of it I left with 3-4 new calendar invites for events!”

What’s one thing you absolutely love about your partner? FALLON: “I love how he always has my back and knows how to communicate with me. I trust him to make the same or better calls than I would, and I know that no matter what he does, he’s thinking of my interests as well, and vice versa.”
