A Golden Era Begins
“There are three pillars our company is founded on, and that’s service, service, and service .”
— TONY SHEIBAN
Celebrating 50 Years Fifty years ago, Tony Sheiban opened a small jewelry shop in downtown Cleveland with just 200 square feet, a single display case, and an unshakable commitment to quality and personal service. Today, Sheiban Jewelers is one of Northeast Ohio’s premier destinations for fine jewelry and watches, a testament to five generations of skill, passion, and family values. Roots in a Family Tradition Long before Sheiban Jewelers became a household name, Tony was a boy in Lebanon learning the trade from his father, a master jeweler. Born in 1947, he grew up surrounded by tools, gemstones, and the quiet discipline of craftsmanship. By the age of ten, he was helping support his family while mastering the intricate techniques that would define his career. In 1973, political and economic turmoil pushed Tony to make a life-changing decision. At twenty-six, he left Lebanon for the United States, carrying little
more than his tools, determination, and a dream. He first arrived in Boston, then moved to Cleveland, working tirelessly in jewelry manufacturing and quickly earning a reputation for precision and integrity. Building the First Store Two years later, Tony had saved enough to open his own shop at the corner of Ninth and Euclid in downtown Cleveland. With a modest footprint and a workbench in the back, he crafted custom pieces that attracted both individual clients and major retailers. By 1976, Tony saw the need for a larger space where he could work directly with customers. He moved Sheiban Jewelers to Strongsville, a growing community south of Cleveland. The new location allowed him to expand custom design services and deepen client relationships that remain central to the business.
