CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF RUMMELE’S JEWELERS Around the World in ewels J

STORE EVENT

A

At Rummele’s Jewelers, we believe jewelry is more than adornment — it’s a celebration of artistry, heritage, and legacy. Our 75th Anniversary weekend event, themed “ Around the World ,” paid tribute to the cultures and craftsmanship that have defined our storied journey through the decades. For two days, we transformed our showroom into a vibrant tapestry of global inspiration, with displays honoring the origins of our jewelry lines – from the elegance of Italy and Japan to the traditions of Armenia, Switzerland, Belgium, and New York. Guests enjoyed thoughtfully curated small bites and themed beverages, while an eye-catching ice sculpture added a touch of spectacle to the festivities.

We were also thrilled to welcome top designers, who unveiled new collections and beloved classics to an enthusiastic crowd of over 200 guests. The atmosphere buzzed with admiration, conversation, and a shared appreciation for the universal language of jewelry. When our story began in 1950, Charles Alpert poured his soul into every detail of Rummele’s. Over the years, he created a legacy of integrity and genuine connection. Today, Tracy proudly carries his vision forward, and with Chloe and Zoe preparing to step in as the third generation, our legacy continues to grow.

As we reflect on this cherished milestone, we are deeply grateful for the trust and loyalty of our customers and community here in Green Bay. Thank you for being such an important part of our story. We look forward to creating many more memories together over the next 75 years.

MARKING MOMENTS

Birthstone Beauties Show them your true colors! Whether aquamarine represents the March birth of your first child or peridot brings out the green in your eyes, the stones you choose, and the stories they tell, are all yours. Each month delivers a fresh hue and a new reason to stack, mix, and wear them your way. Here’s your month-by-month guide to birthstones that sparkle with personal style and timeless beauty.

JANUARY — GARNET Deep, dramatic, and a little mysterious, garnet’s rich red hue turns up the heat in the coldest month. It symbolizes protection and strength, but mostly it just looks really good in gold. FEBRUARY — AMETHYST Purple reigns with the amethyst: regal, serene, and seriously eye-catching. Once favored by royalty, this dreamy quartz brings a pop of color and a touch of calm to your jewelry box. MARCH — AQUAMARINE As cool and clear as a tropical tide, aquamarine captures the easy elegance of early spring. This pale blue beauty is perfect for stacking or standing alone with breezy sophistication. APRIL — DIAMOND Classic, brilliant, and undeniably luxe, the diamond is April’s sparkling star. Whether you go big or layer delicate accents, there’s no wrong way to wear a little forever. MAY — EMERALD Lush, vibrant, and full of life, emerald is the ultimate green dream. Its rich hue has long symbolized renewal and love. We just call it chic with a side of drama.

JUNE — PEARL Elegant, timeless, and effortlessly cool, pearls bring a soft glow and subtle charm to summer style. Whether classic white or a modern hue, pearls are always a polished choice. JULY — RUBY Fiery, bold, and full of passion, ruby doesn’t whisper, it makes a statement. The perfect red for summer nights and confident moments. Hot month, hotter stone. AUGUST — PERIDOT Fresh and zesty, peridot adds a citrusy spark to any jewelry story. This bright green gem is like sunshine in stone form: playful, punchy, and surprisingly versatile. SEPTEMBER — SAPPHIRE True blue never goes out of style. Sapphire brings depth, drama, and a dash of mystique to everything it touches. It’s the cool classic your jewelry box deserves.

OCTOBER — OPAL Soft white with a kaleidoscope of hidden color, opal is October’s ethereal surprise. No two are alike, and that’s exactly the point. Whimsical, artistic, and one of a kind. NOVEMBER — TOPAZ Available in a rainbow of shades but best known for golden honey tones, topaz glows with richness and warmth. It’s a versatile gem that transitions beautifully from day to night. DECEMBER — TANZANITE A rare gem with a velvety violet-blue hue, tanzanite brings an air of sophistication to winter’s sparkle. Discovered only in Tanzania, it’s as unique as it is beautiful.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

By Jennifer Brugh

For Roberto Coin, fine jewelry is not just an accessory but an expression of artistry, culture, and individuality. Since founding his brand in 1996, Coin has dedicated himself to creating pieces that transcend time, bringing Italian craftsmanship and global inspiration together in a way that has captivated the luxury world. From the beginning, This philosophy extends beyond design and into the very DNA of his brand. Each creation is marked by a hidden ruby, a signature detail inspired by ancient Egyptian legend. Coin was drawn to the belief that rubies, worn close to the skin, bring prosperity and happiness. That is his personal wish for every woman who wears his jewelry — an intimate, unseen gesture of good fortune. A Visionary in the Art of Jewelry roberto coin

diversity and creativity have been at the heart of his vision. Unlike other designers who build their brand around a single recognizable motif, Coin has always sought endless reinvention, ensuring that no two collections feel the same. His mission is clear: rather than offering the same piece to every woman, his goal is to craft a different masterpiece for each, celebrating the unique beauty and personality of the wearer.

SOME DESIGNERS CREATE JEWELRY. OTHERS REDEFINE IT.

16 | RUMMELE’S JEWELERS MAGAZINE

Pairing these philosophies and creations, Coin manages to balance tradition and innovation, making his brand one of the most dynamic forces in modern jewelry. At his Italian atelier, master artisans — some with decades of experience, others with fresh, modern perspectives — work side by side to bring his visions to life. Their process is one of meticulous craftsman- ship, where time-honored techniques merge with cutting-edge advancements to create jewelry that is both timeless and groundbreaking. Beyond the world of jewelry, Coin is recognized as a pioneering spirit in fashion and design. His collections have graced the red carpet, appeared on the pages of top luxury

publications, and influenced trends across the industry. Yet, despite his global recognition, his approach remains deeply personal. Every piece tells a story — a reflection of his own endless curiosity and passion for the arts.

FOR ROBERTO COIN, CREATIVITY IS FREEDOM, AND JEWELRY IS MORE THAN JUST AN ADORNMENT — IT IS A STATEMENT OF IDENTITY. WITH AN EVER-EVOLVING VISION AND AN UNRELENTING DRIVE TO SURPRISE, HE CONTINUES TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF LUXURY, ONE MASTERPIECE AT A TIME.

must-haves diamond 5 WHY SHOULD YOUR EARLOBES EVER BE BORING WHEN YOU COULD THROW ON A PAIR OF DIAMOND STUDS? necklace or gown. Because why should your earlobes ever be boring when you could throw on a pair of diamond studs?

T

There’s nothing quite like a diamond: that scintillating, bright white shine that lights up both your smile and your look. Select a diamond of different size or style and it can take you from the grocery store to a night on the town, from a board meeting to the school drop-off lane. But which dazzling diamond delights do you need to have waiting in your jewelry box for any situation? Here are the five essential diamond must-haves. Diamond studs are many collectors’ first serious piece of jewelry, and for good reason — this standout staple is perfect for so many situations! Smaller studs are just the thing for everyday errands and low- key occasions, but scale up the size and you’ve got immediate glamour, appropriate to pair with the fanciest

A diamond tennis bracelet is the perfect place to start your wristwear collection: a captivating neutral to garland your arm in shimmering stones. But why stop at just one? A tennis bracelet is the perfect complement for a fine timepiece, stack of gold bangles, or colorful bracelets of any style. A diamond tennis bracelet will elevate anything next to it, and the effect only intensifies if you add multiple tennis bracelets at once!

A diamond tennis necklace is the ultimate expression of effortless elegance. Its continuous line of brilliant stones catches the light from every angle, creating a look that feels refined yet undeniably radiant. Whether worn alone to highlight a graceful neckline or layered with shorter chains for modern dimension, the tennis necklace adds polish to any occasion. From daytime sophistication to evening glamour, it’s a piece that proves diamonds truly shine best in motion.

like a captive star you can wear

A classic diamond pendant feels like a captive star that you can wear at your clavicle, a bite-sized taste of brilliance tamed and made your very own. Enjoy the sparkle solo by wearing it on its own or pair it with more diamond necklaces, your favorite sentimental charms, or even pretty pops of gorgeous gemstone color for a layered look. For even more versatility, try wearing your diamond pendant on chains of different lengths!

You might think of anniversary bands or wedding rings when you see a diamond band, but these glittering rings are an eye-catching choice for any finger. Layer diamond bands of different styles and stone shapes for a ring stack with interesting texture, or pair diamond bands with gemstone ones if you want to add in more color! How about a stack with the birthstone of each member of your family, bordered by a diamond band at the top and bottom? It’s an approach that is as chic as it is meaningful.

To say this is a trip of a lifetime would not be overstating it. Yes, it includes mountains, beaches, and breathtaking views, but it also unveils immense Italian hospitality, mouth-watering food and drink, and a glimpse at living la dolce vita ! Planning your own trip overseas might seem like a daunting task. However, our recent experience on a self- planned vacay might surprise you with how simple, beautiful, and amazing your stay can be. We visited the Amalfi Coast, which runs from Positano down to Vietre sul Mare, Italy, and includes thirteen villages. Each village offers its own character and story. Day 1 & 2: Pompei & Positano Many will start their trip by flying into Naples, Italy (NAP). From the States, you’ll often arrive

early, around 7-9 a.m. This allows you to see many things as you make your way south. First off, skip the rental car. We could spend a lot of time explaining why, but essentially, it’s about cost, parking, and convenience. Also, the drivers enjoy telling you about what you’re seeing on the way and can assist you in many surpising ways. We booked Gianpiero Fiorentino (https://www.gianpierofiorentino.com) for a tour on our way to Positano that included a two-hour stop in Pompei. He can customize any sort of trip, provide you with a quote online, and meet you at baggage claim. So simple! Gianpiero suggested we get a tour guide for Pompei and even lined it up for us. On our way to Pompei we stopped at the Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei, an incredible Catholic cathedral. Since the ruins did

not open until 9 a.m., he also took us to his favorite, nearby Pasticceria De Vivo for pastries and a couple of their famous Italian cappuccinos. Pompei can be hot in early June, so purchase a bottle of water and expect some walking through uneven rocks and gravel. It would take a full day to see all of the ruins, but two to three hours is plenty to get a great experience, and it is well worth your visit. Truly fascinating! The drive to Positano was jaw-dropping. We wound around the coastline of beautiful Sorrento while Gianpiero contacted the hotel and arranged for a porter to meet us at a designated parking lot just a short, steep walk down to our Covo dei Saraceni Hotel. It was the perfect location, near the restaurants, beach, and marina, and had an available balcony room, a highly-rated restaurant,

24 | RUMMELE’S JEWELERS MAGAZINE

Day 3 & 4: Capri & Fattoria La Tagliata How perfect that the boat taking us to Capri was steps from our hotel, after another glorious breakfast. We booked a small group trip with Cassiopea Positano for under €300 for two. There are private tour options (€1200) and there is a large transport boat(€80 pp), but we were happy to be with a group of 12 to share the experience and get to know some fellow travelers on a small boat, complete with Prosecco drinks on the way back to Positano. The trip to Capri for the day was a highlight of the entire trip (take a small bag with beach towels and a bathing suit). Viewing the coastline from the neon blue water was tantalizing! We dodged in and out of caverns and could not get over the color of the ice blue, clear water. An hour from dock we approach the Faraglioni rocks of Capri. Known as Stella, or Faraglioni di terra, the dramatic pinnacles reach a height of 365 feet, or 110 meters. We were dropped off at Capri town for a few hours. The two small beaches there could not be more picturesque. In June the water is pretty cold, but the day was hot and a plunge beckoned. You have time to visit Anacapri on the other side of the island, but we elected to get some sun, take a swim, and enjoy a pizza lunch with a dreamy view near the docks. Eight hours passed quickly, and before we knew it we were capturing the most amazing snapshots of Positano from the ocean as we approached the marina.

We topped off the warm cloudless evening with a stroll down the beach boardwalk to Fly Music Bar for a little disco music, dancing, and a Limoncello spritz. One big day indeed! Day two began with the fantastic breakfast buffet in a stunning room with large open windows overlooking the marina and beach (top pic). We sat there for quite some time soaking up the view and enjoying delicious breakfast items while sipping Prosecco and mimosas. A short walk took us to Positano’s famous Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Free admission allows you to fully experience a remarkable, large 10th century abbey — a must-see. We shopped for Limoncello and enjoyed the Italian boutiques before landing at Chez Black for a lunch of spaghetti and seafood, seaside. The people-watching, food, and ambiance were fantastic. That evening we dined at Buca Di Bacco restaurant (€30-€40 pp) right on the water just steps from our hotel. I can definitely recommend the spaghetti with clams!

and an incredible free breakfast spread — all with gorgeous views of the water. Their historical story is on their website. Rooms are €600-€2,500 and includes breakfast, which for Positano is a little on the high end, but for a short stay, well worth it. Positano is steep, so choose your hotel wisely. Our all-white room with fabulous blue and yellow Italian tiles, with a balcony and bistro table overlooking the Mediterranean, was perfect. Pizza and Caprese salad lunch at their 5th floor pool/restaurant was exquisite. We then took a walk to explore the nearby shops. Definitely dine at their open air restaurant, Savino, overlooking the sea. I had their pasta with beef genovese and she had the sea bass with lemon sauce with a bottle of Costa d’Amalfi Furore. Delizioso!

Day 5 & 6: Amalfi The night before, the hotel arranged our pickup for our short, incredible ride down to Amalfi. Typically these short 30-45-minute trips are about €100, but when you take into account that one day’s parking costs that, or even double, it is the most economical and comfortable way to get around (often in a Mercedes private car). We arrived around noon at the Amalfi Hotel Aurora (€384 per night including breakfast) — a perfectly located hotel on the north end of the beach near the marina. Our balcony room was ready and very nice. The hotel is just a lovely 100- yard stroll from the entrance to the village square of Amalfi along a shoreline filled with delightful restaurants, shops, playgrounds, and a second small beach. We immediately made our way into a busy Amalfi for a pasta lunch at one of the many cafés near the square. We people-watched and sipped on delicious local wine while taking in an absolutely magical scene. Amalfi almost doesn’t look real, because it is so perfectly authentic. The patina on the buildings, the massive steps of the 9th century Duomo di Sant’Andrea, which anchors the smallish Pizza del Duomo, and the surrounding menagerie of cafés, pastry shops, and boutiques in ancient buildings of ornate Italian architecture is breathtakingly quaint yet luxurious. Hollywood couldn’t make a set this movie-worthy.

Again, the porter took our bags up to the drop- off and the hotel arranged for Peppe to pick us up and take us up to Fattoria La Tagliata (€374 per night, breakfast included), known for its amazing family-style, farm-to-table, dinners. Few know that they also have three cabin-style rooms. We scored Limonella, with an unreal trellis-covered patio and helicopter views of Positano below all the way to Capri. We were greeted with appetizers and a bottle of Prosecco as soon as we arrived. This family-owned farm/restaurant/ inn had the very best hospitality of our Amalfi trip. We made our way down the short path to dinner and found it overwhelming! However, the rustic-style dining room and mind-blowing view out the open windows did not prepare us for what was next. You don’t order — you get what they are making in the kitchen that evening, with everything coming from their terraced farm below, filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, and farm animals. They give you healthy-sized portions to share. There might be four meats (the rabbit was the best), four pastas, fresh breads, a bottle or two of wine, and multiple desserts. If you want something special, just ask, and they will prepare it. Your glass will never empty. You can’t possibly eat it all and don’t try (€60 pp). The next day we took our own tour of the grounds after another breakfast that was indescribable. An over-the-top free lunch to those staying there was an added bonus. They are known for their six-hour cooking class that turns

We enjoyed our Italian dinner that night across the street at Lo Smeraldino (€25- €40 pp) nestled right on the water with that view only the Amalfi Coast can give you. After a glorious breakfast outside on the covered hotel terrace, our second day in Amalfi started at the Duomo di Sant’Andrea and a tour of its museum grounds. The cost is nominal but the experience seeing the crypt, the original structures, and the gardens is unforgettable. Afterwards, we enjoyed mimosas on the square and watched as a bride and groom pulled up in an escorted red Ferrari, parked at the bottom of the duomo, and made their way up with their wedding party for a gorgeous celebration. A highlight of the day was a short walk up to what we thought was just a ruin overlooking the beach. However, upon arrival, we realized the tower had a restaurant called La Torre Saracena. We had a beautiful salad lunch served by the entertaining Angelo, but the view down on all of Amalfi was extraordinary. At the very least, go up there for the views and a good glass of vino! A cool and comfy evening under the stars, invited us back into Amalfi — now with far fewer people — to Andrea Pansa, next to the duomo, to enjoy dessert, coffee, and Limoncello under the soft lights of the town square. Saluti!

ESTATE JEWELRY eauty B WITH A BACKSTORY

By Annie Davidson Watson

I

In the ever-evolving world of fashion, estate jewelry offers a sense of permanence. These are pieces with provenance — styles that span centuries and still manage to feel entirely modern. From the timeless shimmer of diamond bangles to the soft luster of a classic pearl strand, estate jewelry speaks to those who appreciate beauty with a backstory. The spectrum is expansive: one moment it’s a pair of vintage diamond studs, the next, a mid-century timepiece that tells its own story with every tick.

Some are drawn to the poetry of the past: the soft glow of old mine-cut diamonds, the symmetry of Art Deco, the elegance of a strand of pearls passed down through generations. Others chase the allure of near- modern icons — pieces just out of production already steeped in cult status. The magic lies in the mix and in the slow, intentional act of collecting jewelry that shifts and grows with every chapter.

Today, jewelry is less about a single signature and more about the mix — diamond bangles stacked beside a cherished watch, a pearl strand paired with gleaming studs, each combination reflecting its wearer’s individuality. With estate jewelry, personal style becomes layered and dimensional, and certainly a conversation point. But provenance, condition, and authenticity, of course, matter. A reputable dealer sells more than jewels — they’re offering expertise, preservation, and often restoration. The right source ensures each piece is as legitimate as it is beautiful.

Natural Diamonds

STUNNING BEAUTY, LASTING VALUE

Before ever gracing your fingers, earlobes, necklines, and wrists, natural diamonds have undergone a transformation unlike any other. Formed deep within the earth under unimaginable heat and pressure, they can take up to 3.5 billion years to come into being. This incredible journey from the heart of the planet to your jewelry box is a testament to time, care, and patience: values as precious as the stones themselves. Beyond their beauty lies a deeper worth. Natural diamonds are not only investments in style but also in lasting value. Due to their rarity and continued demand, diamonds often appreciate over time, making them an asset you’ll never regret.

Lab-grown diamonds, while visually similar, lack this ancient origin and the mystique that comes with it. That difference in authenticity is one reason these inferior stones do not retain their value over time. Their rapid, factory-controlled creation process is not as environmentally friendly as was originally claimed, and it cannot replicate the natural story or intrinsic worth that earth-forged diamonds possess. In contrast, the natural diamond industry has embraced a new kind of brilliance: from ethical mining practices to sustainability initiatives, there is a growing commitment to protecting our planet and honoring the people behind every gem. It’s a reflection of our shared responsibility — to ourselves, to each other, and to the earth. With a rich heritage and a legacy as old as the stars, natural diamonds are more than just jewelry. They are heirlooms, investments, and evidence of enduring beauty born from the depths of time. In every facet, they tell a story — one of resilience, rarity, and timeless elegance.

NATURAL DIAMONDS HAVE CAPTIVATED US FOR CENTURIES — AND FOR GOOD REASON. THESE BREATHTAKING GEMS ARE MORE THAN JUST DAZZLING ADORNMENTS; THEY ARE RARE SYMBOLS OF ENDURANCE, TRADITION, AND LOVE.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Two Hearts United CHLOE & WILL CELEBRATE LOVE AND FAMILY IN A DAY TO REMEMBER

C

Chloe and Will’s April wedding was a heartfelt celebration, woven together by family traditions and meaningful details that made their day truly unforgettable. To honor her 98-year-old grandmother, who couldn’t travel for the big day, Chloe wore the same dress to the rehearsal dinner that her grandmother had first donned 79 years ago. “Wearing her dress made me feel like she was right there with me,” Chloe shared. On the wedding day, Chloe and Will made a striking pair — Will in a classic suit, perfectly complementing Chloe’s elegant gown with its stunning, swooping back. The silhouette was beautifully accentuated by a surprise gift from her mother: a one-of-a-kind Mikimoto pearl necklace, designed to drape perfectly along the open back. Paired with Mikimoto earrings, the necklace inspired Chloe to style her hair up, letting the pearls take center stage and adding a timeless touch to her ensemble. Reflecting on the day, Chloe shared, “I loved all of it, but what stood out the most was that at dinner we stood at the top of the stairs and took a few minutes to take in the scenery of all our loved ones enjoying themselves and making the trip to celebrate us as a couple. The entire lawn was dimly lit by candles and bistro lights. It was such a magical moment that I will remember forever.”

GRACE & THOR Lakeside Beginnings How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend who invited us both to his lake house for a summer weekend. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t leave each other’s side, and the rest is history. When did you get engaged? October 13, 2023 Tell us the proposal story. Thor proposed at the same place we would later get married, a year and a half later, at my grandparents’ family cottage in Door County, Wisconsin. Overlooking the lake and surrounded by friends and family, it was a perfectly intimate and meaningful moment. Tell us about your rings.

Thor designed my custom platinum Simon G. engagement ring with a radiant-cut center diamond flanked by tapered baguette diamonds. For his band, we chose a yellow gold design with a hammered finish and black inlays on each side.

JOY & CHARLIE One Year to Yes How did you meet?

We matched on a dating app. Charlie had just moved back to Green Bay after completing his master’s program, and I had recently returned home from Florida. Our first date led to one incredible year together, culminating in an engagement on our anniversary. When did you get engaged? June 6, 2025 Tell us the proposal story. Charlie told me we were stopping quickly before a family birthday dinner, but it was actually a surprise engagement party. He brought me to the St. Norbert campus, where we regularly attended Mass, to the Grotto of Our Lady, decorated with flowers, candles, and photos of our favorite memories. He asked me to marry him, I said yes, and then we celebrated with family and friends. Tell us about your ring. My engagement ring is a marquise diamond set on a gold band with a hidden halo beneath. I wanted something timeless and unique, with a simple, elegant touch.

JACK & TESSA Fore-ever Together How did you meet?

We are a Hinge success story. At the time we matched, Jack was only in Green Bay for spring break from grad school. Our first date at Main Street Bourbon started with cocktails, a lot of chatting, and somehow ended up lasting seven hours after an escape room and brewery stop. We clicked instantly and knew we were a great match. When did you get engaged? May 31, 2025 Tell us the proposal story. The day started like any other Saturday, with Jack on the golf course and me riding shotgun with breakfast in hand. The real surprise came later during a picnic at Pamperin Park. After wandering for the perfect spot, Jack asked me to stand up, got on one knee, and presented the most beautiful ring. Family and friends were waiting nearby to celebrate, making it a day we will never forget. Tell us about your ring. I have always loved oval diamonds, and Jack found the perfect one. The gold band features diamonds on either side, highlighting the main stone’s beauty. It was exactly what I hoped for.

JACK & JILL A Tale as Old as Time How did you meet?

We’re high school sweethearts! We first met at 16 years old in our sophomore speech class back in 2013. Over the course of the year, we got to know each other and began dating our junior year. Over the last decade, we’ve lived in four different states and spent nearly four years in a long-distance relationship during college. No matter the distance, we always made time for each other—love always wins. We’ve now called Manhattan home together for the past three years. When did you get engaged? September 19, 2025 Tell us the proposal story. Jack proposed on Porto Mós Beach in Lagos, Portugal. He had hired a professional photographer who was sitting on the beach by the cliffs pretending to be a tourist. As we walked past him and stopped in front of one of the cliff facades, Jack reminisced on our relationship and told me how much he loved me and that he had a little surprise. The surprise, of course, was him getting down on one knee and proposing. Tell us about your ring. Before the proposal, I had noted a few features of my dream ring, which came to life beautifully with the help of Chloe Alpert. It features a stunning elongated cushion- cut diamond with half pavé on each side, set in 18K gold with white gold claw prongs and a low setting supported by a small band that lets in plenty of light. It sparkles even in the dark!

SOPHIA & JOHNNY It’s You — Today, Tomorrow, And Forever How did you meet? We met at the Oneida Golf & Country Club. Johnny was golfing there and I was the beverage cart bartender. When did you get engaged? June 23, 2023 Tell us the proposal story. Johnny borrowed a close family friend’s sailboat to take me on a date. I had just finished a long stretch of night shifts and almost canceled, but he packed a bottle of wine and charcuterie and was so excited to go sailing that I couldn’t say no. It was 90 degrees with basically no wind, so we spent the afternoon sitting and talking. We reminisced about the sailing trip he had taken a year earlier with his dad. We kept a journal we’d write in during the time we were apart. Each time we got together we would read what we wrote to each other. Johnny said he had written one more note, his proposal speech. It was beautiful, heartfelt, and thoughtful. When we returned to the dock engaged, all our family was waiting for us. Tell us about your ring. Johnny shares, “The ring Rummele’s helped us create is entirely unique and deeply meaningful. It holds a diamond from my mother, one from my grandmother’s engagement ring, and one from me, representing three generations. Rummele’s also refurbished Sophia’s mother’s original wedding band to fit perfectly with the engagement ring and they restored my late grandfather Aldo’s wedding band with a new engraving, which I’m honored to wear. These family heirlooms are beautiful reminders of the relationships that have shaped ours, remaining united in the symbolism of our marriage.”

CELEBRATING

THE GIRLS

By Becky Stone

Everyone knows that great bridesmaids are the key to any successful wedding, whether they’re offering last-minute moral support, finding tissues for the teary-eyed, or running discreet interference with champagne-soaked relatives. The best bridesmaids deserve the best thank you gifts, but it can be hard to figure out how to honor your nearest and dearest for supporting you on the most important day of your life. Don’t worry, we have suggestions!

THANK YOU

ALL TOGETHER NOW — DIAMOND BANDS ARE THE NEW BEST-GIFT-EVER FOR BRIDESMAIDS

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so why not thank your best friends by giving them diamonds? A diamond stacking band is a fantastic bridesmaid gift — a classic piece of jewelry that works with any outfit and will never go out of style. You can even include a sweet note saying the band is a promise to stay friends with your bridesmaids forever, just like you’ll be pledging your love to your fiancé at the altar later that day.

42 | RUMMELE’S JEWELERS MAGAZINE

If a diamond band doesn’t feel right, a necklace with a small twinkling diamond or gold pendant is the kind of effortless piece of jewelry your bridesmaids will be able to enjoy forever. Want to make your gifts even more personalized? Show your appreciation by customizing a monogram pendant for each of your girls with their names or initials. If a necklace doesn’t go with your bridesmaid dresses, an engraved pinky ring is a chic and unexpected alternative. If you’d rather not go the jewelry route for your bridesmaid gifts, an elegant jewelry travel case or ring dish is a lovely keepsake that can be both meaningful and useful. Have it personalized with your wedding colors, your girls’ initials, or other personalized message for an extra thoughtful touch.

A glass or flask engraved with your bridesmaids’ names is a fun souvenir that you can all enjoy using together while getting ready for the big day. Or if you’d rather give them something special to take home, to avoid the risk of gifts getting lost or forgotten on the wedding day, a high-end pen with a personalized engraving is a truly special outside-the-box bridesmaid gift that your girls can treasure for years to come.

TRAVEL COLORADO L

Colorado Springs

Walking by our table, the maître-d’ of the Golden Bee subtly flicked a small embroidered honey bee at each of our lapels like a behind-the-back Jordan pass. It landed perfectly, leaving a startling yet welcome reminder of our dinner at this English pub. The Golden Bee is one of the Broadmoor’s signature dining experiences, but it’s only an introduction to a sweeping monument to comfort and connections. Local industrialists Spencer and Julia Penrose brought their singular vision of a grand European hotel to life on the southwest edge of Colorado Springs, nestled at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain. Stepping into the west lobby of the Broadmoor is like stepping back in time to 1919 when the Forbes Five-Star Resort opened its doors. Like the original stained glass ceiling panels and Italian Renaissance flair, the Broadmoor remains unwavering in its commitment to providing an exceptional experience more than a century later.

Culinary Comfort My first stop at the Broadmoor was The Golden Bee, an authentic 19th-century English pub that was shipped and reconstructed, panel by panel, in 1961. The pub retains an authentically cozy atmosphere of warm woods and traditional craftsmanship, perfectly recreating the feel of a familiar neighborhood watering hole from the old country. It’s just one of many dining options, from the French-influenced La Tarverne to the rustic Restaurant 1858, located at the base of the majestic Seven Falls series of waterfalls. Seated at Ristorante Del Lago with a glass of Italian red and fresh house-made pasta, we could have been convinced that we’d been transported to the elegant shores of Lake Como. Fine dining is just the beginning of the Broadmoor experience. Top Golf The 2025 US Senior Open was played on the East Course, perched in the foothills near Cheyenne Mountain at an elevation of more than 6,300 feet. The East Course is renowned for its expansive, tree-lined fairways and wide, well-maintained greens. In contrast, the West Course is tighter off the tee, featuring rolling fairways, heavily tree-lined holes, and breathtaking views of both the mountains and Colorado Springs. A perfect blend of natural beauty and rich history!

Lodging Locations Guest rooms evoke the finest European luxury hotels, complemented by modern comforts. An array of rooms and suites offer views of the Rockies’ purple mountain’s majesty or the twin lakes behind the main hotel building. The Penrose suite may be the pinnacle of accommodations. It’s the well-preserved apartment of Mrs. Julie Penrose, who lived there from 1944 until 1957. The suite was left essentially intact, with only sympathetic upgrades to modern amenities. If you’d like more room, cottages and brownstones can accommodate family or corporate gatherings with enhanced privacy and superior service. For the ultimate group setting, the estate house features five bedrooms, a grand parlor that accommodates up to 60 guests, an opulent dining room with seating for 16, and a gourmet kitchen ideally suited for any occasion. Architect Thomas MacLaren oversaw the design and construction in the late 1920s, and the home was expanded in the 1930s to create a sanctuary just steps from the resort’s main campus. Additionally, the Broadmoor has earned a spot as a top wedding destination, and the convention center caters to both work and play business events. Elite Excursions Pike’s Peak is the star attraction in the region. You can hike up it, take a bus, or, my favorite, ride the Cog Railway. It’s a 3.5-hour round-trip tour, and depending on how many donuts you eat at the café, it’s easy to doze off on the return trip. Broadmoor Outfitters can plan more active excursions, from hiking to fly fishing. Adventurous souls will enjoy the Broadmoor Soaring Adventure, which consists of 10 zip lines among two courses that range from 250 feet to 1,800 feet. You’ll need to be prepared for moderate hiking, traversing rope bridges, and a controlled 180-foot rappel that features stunning views of the waterfalls and the canyon below. Popular hiking options include easy trails winding through the sandstone formations of the Garden of the Gods and Red Rock Open Space, the forested gateway views of North Cheyenne Cañon, or the more strenuous Section 16 trail.

BASQUE WAISTS What is old can be new again! The Victorian era of the 1800s has always influenced today’s designers, but the onslaught of basque waistlines currently in vogue — characterized by their V or U shape coming to a point below the natural waistline — elongate the body beautifully and elegantly.

DROP THAT WAIST The Jazz Age of the 1920s returns with vengeance. For the bride looking for something both modern and classic, the drop waist is both now very popular again as well as vintage. On the right gal, it can be very flattering, elongating, and eye-catching, offering up a lovely silhouette.

CAT-EYE NECKLINES The cat-eye neckline is defined by the sharp and angular edges pointing up towards the shoulders. Haute couture dresses for formalwear and now bridalwear are dominating the modern bride scene. Paired with the basque waist, it offers drama, sexiness, and comes off as powerful and confident as it stunningly highlights the arms and shoulders.

BUBBLE HEMS No one will mistake who the bride is when she enters the room in one of these volume powerhouses. Ultra- feminine yet modern, this look gives you a show-stopping moment with ballroom elegance. Especially lovely, and perfect for convertible wedding dresses as you go from day formal to night party and dance at the reception.

LACE-UP LOOKS Corset designs are not a thing of the past when the details are on full display on the front. Lace-up details front and center as opposed to on the back have now become a unique design detail rather than a hidden trick. The contour makes the fit more easily perfect and at the same time pushes it forward in time. There are a lot of variations out there on this theme.

A SCARF MOMENT Does anything look more Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn, or Grace Kelly than a bride’s neck draped gracefully in a simple chiffon scarf? Not only is it stunning down the aisle, but imagine a flowing scarf in those wedding pictures with a slight breeze blowing. Whoa! The perfect alternative to the more traditional bridal veil, they look best with a lower neckline and bare arms.

TRICKY TOPPING Revealing sheer beads or lace is a big part of the fashion scene in ready-wear in 2025. It makes perfect sense that the detachable trend also comes into play with light, playful tops and/or sleeves that can go from that “I do” moment to “party like it’s 1999” afterwards.
