JOHN HARDY MARKS 50 YEARS WITH BOLD NEW VISION FROM REED KRAKOFF

The Balinese-born brand celebrates its golden anniversary with heritage reissues, new stores, and a fresh creative direction.
This year marks half a century of John Hardy — a major milestone for the Bali-based jewelry house known for artisanal craftsmanship, cultural symbolism, and sustainability. Founded in 1975 by Canadian artist John Hardy, the brand gained recognition for its handwoven chains, mythological motifs, and commitment to community and the environment. Now, under the creative leadership of Reed Krakoff, John Hardy enters a bold new chapter rooted in heritage but oriented firmly toward the future. To mark its five-decade legacy, the brand has launched two commemorative collections: Icon 50 and Spear 50. Icon 50 reimagines John Hardy’s beloved heritage chain as a modern statement piece, available in sterling silver, gold, and pavé diamond variations. Spear 50 revisits one of Krakoff’s own designs from his early tenure at the house, embuing it with Balinese symbolism and a refined, sculptural aesthetic. Together, the collections reflect a brand at the crossroads of legacy and innovation. Krakoff, who joined John Hardy as creative chairman in 2022, brings decades of industry experience and a minimalist eye honed at Coach and Tiffany & Co. Since taking the helm, he has introduced the high

He’s also expanded existing collections like Surf, Pebble, and Love Knot, and ushered in collaborations with names including Athena Calderone (spring 2025), Todd Snyder, and Wölffer Estate. His approach has balanced reverence for traditional Balinese craftsmanship with a clean, contemporary design language, helping John Hardy reach new audiences while deepening loyalty among longtime fans. The anniversary coincides with physical expansion, including new retail locations at Rockefeller Center in New York and Miami’s Design District, both opened in late 2024. These flagship stores underscore the brand’s growing luxury positioning, alongside a successful shop-in-shop at Saks Palm Beach Gardens and a robust wholesale presence. BMW i8 M redux 2026
THE FUTURE OF PERFORMANCE HAS ARRIVED

If you missed out on the first-generation BMW i8 hybrid supercar, you may have another chance. BMW is hinting at a new i8, this time with an M badge, although the model name, like many other things about this version, hasn’t been finalized. The first i8 was a plug-in hybrid powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, generating a combined 369 horsepower. The electric driving range was
a minimal 18 miles. More than 20,000 were produced from 2014 to 2020, making it the top-selling plug-in electric sports car. The next generation will be based on BMW’s Vision M Next concept. Expect a massive increase in power, a longer all-electric driving range, and a more capable chassis. It’s predicted to hit dealer showrooms at the end of 2025 as a 2026 model. The scuttlebutt is that the new version
will be powered by a turbocharged four- cylinder engine and twin electric motors, yielding a combined output of around 600 horsepower. In the Next concept, that drivetrain was capable of running 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph. With that kind of power, the i8 M will be competitive with hybrid rivals like the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray and the Lexus LC 500h.

The Vision M Next concept claimed an electric driving range of 62 miles. There isn’t much info on the EV capabilities of the i8 M, but be sure that BMW’s engineers are working feverishly to find ways to eke out more range from each charge. Hopefully, BMW will address one common criticism from the first model: ingress and egress. Sure, it’s a ground- hugging hypercar with butterfly or front- hinged doors, but it was exceptionally hard to get into and out of, gracefully or otherwise. As a hypercar, storage and cargo capacity will likely remain limited, but a front trunk (or frunk) may provide additional luggage space. We’re hoping it will be offered as a convertible as well as a fixed-roof coupe, similar to the previous generation model’s lineup. If you’re going to be uncomfortable in a performance car, you might as well have the wind in your hair. The price of the 2026 BMW i8 M is expected to range from approximately $160,000 to $180,000, depending on the selected trim and options. Like its predecessor, the i8 M will be BMW’s laboratory for futuristic styling and materials, serving as a rolling demonstration of cutting-edge features and eye-popping designs.

G Growing up in suburban Philadelphia, Kylie McDevitt Kelce had a neighbor, Tim, who was a frequent guest at her family’s home. Despite his sensitivity to loud noises or inability to make eye contact, no one was daunted by him. “Back then, I didn’t know I was being introduced to autism; he was just Tim, and we always welcomed him,” explains the now 33-year-old Kylie. When she graduated from Cabrini University in 2017, she taught in a life skills classroom as a 1:1 support person for the students. “I came to find out very quickly that we had been using strategies and managing behaviors we didn’t even know we were doing,” Kylie says. “Ultimately, Tim taught us how he wanted us to interact with him, and we listened.”

Being in the Spotlight Being the mother of four daughters under age six is no easy undertaking, and to do this in the glare of media and social media attention can often be overwhelming for Kylie. This is especially in light of the mega interest in Jason’s brother, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his fiancée, pop star Taylor Swift. Kylie says she chooses projects that are authentic to her beliefs, like working with the autism community. “The way I have been navigating being in the public eye is making sure that I am unapologetically me, and all of the things that I put out there are things that I believe in, use, and can be proud of,” she says. “The good thing is I don’t have the time to read the negative comments, because I am busy chasing my children around.” Kylie is also the host of the podcast, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce , which skyrocketed to popularity after its December 2024 launch. She speaks candidly about numerous topics, including family and fame. Making time for self-care can be difficult, so she sets her alarm early to start her day with coffee and quiet time. “I usually have more patience throughout the day if I can drink my coffee in peace and have some me time in the morning before the snuggles begin.”
Kylie is the loving wife of Jason Kelce, the celebrated former Philadelphia Eagles center, a future Hall of Famer, and one of the most beloved Eagles players of all time. She is also the devoted mother of their four adorable daughters: Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, 2-year-old Bennett, and Finnley, born March 30, 2025.
Fast forward eight years, and Kylie is using much of her time in the spotlight to raise money and awareness for autism through her charitable partner, the non- profit Eagles Autism Foundation, (EAF), a hands-on endeavor she has embraced with great enthusiasm, including spearheading many fundraisers. Kylie and Jason were front and center when, in June 2025, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie donated $50 million to create a new institute to revolutionize how autism is understood, diagnosed, and treated, unlocking scientific discoveries and fostering hope for millions around the U.S. To date, EAF, which was started in 2018, has raised an additional $30 million for autism research. This research is vital, with 1 in 36 U.S. children currently diagnosed with autism, and additional resources needed by families, schools, and the medical community. Among the EAF projects Kylie is proud of is the HP Print Pals, in partnership with puppeteer Stacey Gordon, who created Julia, the Sesame Street puppet with autism. The project was launched in the summer of 2024. Print Pals are printable puppets that enable neurodivergent children to express themselves through the therapeutic power of creative expression.

Jon Ritchie is a familiar name in Philadelphia. As a standout fullback for the Eagles, he brought grit and determination to the field — qualities that have carried over to his second career behind the microphone. Today, he co-hosts the morning show on SportsRadio 94 WIP, where his sharp perspective and dry humor make him a trusted voice for passionate listeners and fans. Off the air, Ritchie stays deeply connected to his hometown. He can often be found at local sports events, mentoring young athletes, or using his WIP platform to shine a light on charities and causes that make a difference, right here in our local area. It’s this commitment to his community that reflects the authenticity, loyalty, and tradition he values — and one reason he enjoys supporting local, family-owned businesses like Benari Jewelers. We were thrilled to bring Jon’s vision to life, creating the engagement ring he used to propose. We caught up with Jon to get some insight on his love story. Where did you meet? Ruben Amaro Jr. actually told me about my now-fiancée about a year and half before we met. I reached out through a mutual contact who told me she wasn’t on the market. Bummer. Then last July, fate stepped in. She was at Training Camp covering the Eagles at the same time we were doing our show from NovaCare. So after practice that day I tapped her on the shoulder…and the rest is history. How was your experience at Benari? It’s funny because I met the team at Benari shortly before I met my fiancée. As soon as I realized she was the one, it was such a relief knowing I was in good hands with Benari as I started the process of ring shopping. Right from the start, Yoni and Rachel made the process easy. I made several visits after work in the morning to Benari to get ideas, pick our stone and finalize our style. Every step of the way, Rachel and Yoni made me feel comfortable, safe, and so confident in my decision. The ring came out even better than expected. They really nailed it. What made you pick your ring style? Our ring was inspired by one my fiancée saw on Instagram but I wanted it to stand alone so that’s when I went to work customizing it — making the side stones a bit larger for scale and adding personal touches on the inside of the band (our secret). It’s one-of-a-kind which is really the best part and tells our story forever.

When and where did you get married? August 3, 2025 in Athens, Greece at the Island Resort Residence What made you pick your ring style?
I went in with an idea of what I wanted to pair with my engagement ring, and left with something completely different than what I expected! I was open minded to suggestions from the sales staff and tried on a lot of different styles to make sure I felt completely confident I chose the perfect band. I ended up choosing a style that was much more glamorous and lustrous than I planned to pair with my emerald cut engagement ring, and I’m so happy I did. My set compliments the best qualities in each band. For my husband, we knew he wanted something classic and timeless and the staff helped him find the perfect white gold band.
How was your experience at Benari?
We had an amazing experience at Benari. The staff was patient, knowledgeable, so kind, and really cared about our likes and dislikes. It always felt like their main goal was to make sure we left happy. We procrastinated ring shopping and cut it a little close when it came to timing, just 4 weeks before our destination wedding. Benari made sure they only showed us pieces they could have ready before we left, as we’d requested. They helped ease our stress about everything and we couldn’t be happier with our rings, and that we went to Benari.

B ichard & ernadette R Where did you meet? Despite growing up only 2.5 miles apart, we didn’t meet until 2022 when Rick gave me his “rose” on Hinge. Our very first date lasted over four hours, and neither of us wanted to leave the restaurant. We both knew then and there that we had found the one.
Where did you get married? Our ceremony was held at St. Anastasia Church, Bernadette’s parish and the same church where Rick’s parents and grandparents were married — a nice coincidence that made it even more meaningful. Our reception took place at the stunning Ellis Preserve Ballroom. From our very first visit, we knew it was the perfect location — elegant yet modern — and with Finley Catering’s outstanding reputation, it felt like a no brainer for us.

What prompted your ring style selection?
I always loved my oldest sister’s ring set — a yellow gold pavé band with a white gold setting and matching wedding band. When I tried on the oval diamond it felt like a timeless look, and Rick agreed. He said, “It has no ends, just like our marriage.” Rick selected the diamond and setting from there, and Benari customized it perfectly with our chosen metals. The extra diamonds on the front and back of the Fana band were the perfect finishing touch, making the ring feel uniquely ours.
How was your experience at Benari?
We absolutely loved our experience at Benari, especially working with Paul Miller! From the engravings and custom fittings to the complimentary cleanings, Benari has gone above and beyond to make sure both we and our rings are well cared for.
