ROBERTO COIN

A Visionary in the Art of Jewelry

For Roberto Coin, fine jewelry is not just an accessory but an expression of artistry, culture, and individuality. Since founding his brand in 1996, Coin has dedicated himself to creating pieces that transcend time, bringing Italian craftsmanship and global inspiration together in a way that has captivated the luxury world.

From the beginning, diversity and creativity have been at the heart of his vision. Unlike other designers who build their brand around a single recognizable motif, Coin has always sought endless reinvention, ensuring that no two collections feel the same. His mission is clear: rather than offering the same piece to every woman, his goal is to craft a different masterpiece for each, celebrating the unique beauty and personality of the wearer.

This philosophy extends beyond design and into the very DNA of his brand. Each creation is marked by a hidden ruby, a signature detail inspired by ancient Egyptian legend. Coin was drawn to the belief that rubies, worn close to the skin, bring prosperity and happiness. That is his personal wish for every woman who wears his jewelry — an intimate, unseen gesture of good fortune.

16 | LENOX JEWELERS MAGAZINE

SOME DESIGNERS CREATE JEWELRY. OTHERS REDEFINE IT.

Pairing these philosophies and creations, Coin manages to balance tradition and innovation, making his brand one of the most dynamic forces in modern jewelry. At his Italian atelier, master artisans — some with decades of experience, others with fresh, modern perspectives — work side by side to bring his visions to life. Their process is one of meticulous craftsman- ship, where time-honored techniques merge with cutting-edge advancements to create jewelry that is both timeless and groundbreaking.

Beyond the world of jewelry, Coin is recognized as a pioneering spirit in fashion and design. His collections have graced the red carpet, appeared on the pages of top luxury publications, and influenced trends across the industry. Yet, despite his global recognition, his approach remains deeply personal. Every piece tells a story — a reflection of his own endless curiosity and passion for the arts.

FOR ROBERTO COIN, CREATIVITY IS FREEDOM, AND JEWELRY IS MORE THAN JUST AN ADORNMENT — IT IS A STATEMENT OF IDENTITY. WITH AN EVER-EVOLVING VISION AND AN UNRELENTING DRIVE TO SURPRISE, HE CONTINUES TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF LUXURY, ONE MASTERPIECE AT A TIME.

TRAVEL SPAIN

By Gary Wollenhaupt

waits A Coastal Splendor SPAIN’S

S Spain continues to rise on every list of trending travel destinations in 2026, and for good reason. You can’t go wrong with European cuisine, plentiful wine, golf courses, and a favorable exchange rate for American travelers. You could fill a book with all that Spain has to offer, and many people have done so. We’ll focus here on two extremes of Spain’s incomparable coastal destinations: Costa Brava and Andalucía, two regions on the north and south of the coastline.

20 | LENOX JEWELERS MAGAZINE

COSTA BRAVA First, let’s explore Costa Brava. The name “Wild Coast” refers to the coastal region of northeastern Spain, specifically in the province of Girona. It’s a popular destination for European travelers escaping the dreary winter months to seek sun, sand, and flavorful dishes. After flying into Barcelona, it’s easy to travel by car throughout Costa Brava. Explore secluded beaches and dine with the locals at a quaint fishing village, sampling the catch of the day and handcrafted wines you won’t find anywhere else. The weather and pace of life in the Costa Brava have attracted many notable figures over the years, including the unlikely pair of Albert Einstein and Salvador Dalí. The artist was born in Figueres, which is home to the Dalí Theatre-Museum, which Dalí designed himself. For more Dalí dalliances, visit the Dalí House and Museum in nearby Portlligat. The noted physicist lodged at La Residencia, the first hotel in Cadaqués, which opened in 1904. The current owner knew Dalí and transformed the boutique hotel into an homage to his old friend. The hotel overlooking the sea houses more Dalí works than the museum. To find your way off the beaten path, rent a motorboat in Blanes. You can explore bays and beaches that are only accessible from the water. Spend a day snorkeling and picnicking on your own to create unique memories. The main attraction is the region’s pristine beaches, from Lloret del Mar to Calella de Palafrugell. Experience luxury with private catamaran cruises, jet skiing, and parasailing for breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean. In the rush to the beaches, don’t overlook the region’s other attractions: national parks like Cap de Creus, world-class golf courses, and rustic villas. You’ll find destinations ready to cater to travelers who value privacy,

ANDALUCÍA For the other extreme, head south to the Andalucía region. You’ll see why the Spanish developed the custom of the siesta or afternoon rest. Temperatures average 97°F in summer afternoons, and late evenings will see 95°F on the thermometer. Follow the local customs and retreat to a cool spot to wait for temperatures to drop. Pop back out into the city in the evening and follow the crowds to a late dinner. Some restaurants take reservations as late as 11 p.m. Tap into the tapas culture or reserve time for lunch or dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant. You can explore on your own or book high-end itineraries featuring luxury accommodations (such as Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville and Alhambra Palace Hotel in Granada), private car transfers, Michelin-starred meals, and exclusive tours of landmarks like the Alhambra, Ronda, and Córdoba’s Mosque- Cathedral. You can sign up for curated experiences such as horse carriage rides, sherry tastings, and authentic flamenco shows, all vetted by local experts for a seamless luxury expedition. For offbeat luxury in Andalucía, stay at boutique fincas (estates) like Finca Buenvino in Huelva’s chestnut forests, castle hotels in Jaén, and Moorish-inspired boutique hotels in Cádiz. The focus is on understated elegance, artisanal experiences, and immersion in local culture, from olive oil tastings to private wine cellar tours in Jerez. In Costa Brava and Andalucía, Spanish traditions and identity run deep through the language, cuisine, and palpable confidence of the people. Whatever you’re looking for in a vacation, Spain can help you find it.

natural beauty, and personalized activities. In the Costa Brava, the focus is on blending adventure with relaxation, ensuring memorable and scenic moments for discerning travelers.

IRELAND

If you’re a golfer, you’ve dreamed of a golf trip to Ireland. And if you’ve never been, I can tell you that whether you play a round or not, Ireland is about the most beautiful, rugged place on the planet. The southwest coastline is one of the most scenic drives I’ve taken in my many travels domestic and internationally. It is a step back in time awash in green — green everywhere you look! Vista upon vista, there is a stunning view around every turn on the Wild Atlantic Way. Wind along the coast from Ballydehob up to Glengarriff and then make your way around the Ring of Kerry. Enjoy the pubs and music of Killarney (you’ll sit right next to the locals and they will sing their hearts out) before an astonishing loop around the world-renowned Dingle Peninsula. HONEY, HOW ABOUT A TRIP TO IRELAND? SURE, I CAN PUT THAT TOGETHER IF YOU’RE REALLY INTERESTED! OK, SO NOW THE PLAN IS FULLY HATCHED AND APPROVED BY THE BUDGET OFFICE.

Road along the scenic coast of western Ireland. Slea Head, Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry.

And the people! Oh my, the people! The Irish love Americans. You can’t help but feel you’re in a cartoon or movie, because everything you’ve heard about Ireland is true. The names of places and people are right out of a novel. There is no ruse here. Do you get to play some amazing golf courses in Ireland? Yes, but your significant other will thank you for a lifetime of memories as well. Words cannot do this place justice. You’ve got to love a win-win situation! On with the real business at hand A golf trip to Ireland offers an unparalleled experience, combining world-class courses with the aformentioned rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. There are just a few things to know to make the trip all the more special.

The Ring of Kerry. Ross Castle was built in the late 15th century by local ruling clan the O’Donoghues Mór (Ross), though ownership changed hands during the Second Desmond Rebellion of the 1580s to the MacCarthy Mór.

Go in the late spring to early summer Ireland’s temperate climate allows for year-round golfing. However, the peak season from June to August offers the best weather and course conditions. For more favorable rates and fewer crowds, consider the shoulder months of April, May, September, and October. [ireland.com] Golf destinations Ireland boasts numerous renowned golf regions: Dublin and Surroundings: Home to historic courses like Royal Dublin and Portmarnock, this area combines rich golfing history with vibrant city life. Southwest Ireland: Featuring iconic links courses such as Ballybunion and Lahinch, this region offers challenging play amid breathtaking coastal scenery. Northern Ireland: With world-class courses like Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, it’s a must-visit for serious golfers. Budget expectations Costs can vary based on season, course selection, and accommodations. Peak season rates for green fees at top courses can range from €200 to €250 per round. To manage expenses, consider traveling during the shoulder season and booking packages that include accommodations and multiple rounds. [golfhireireland.com]

Accommodations and amenities Many Irish golf resorts cater to both golfers and non-golfers, offering amenities like spas, fine dining, and cultural excursions. Family-friendly hotels, such as Newpark Hotel and Mount Wolseley, provide activities for children, ensuring a memorable experience for all. How to pack Given Ireland’s unpredictable weather, pack layers, including waterproof gear. While most courses offer clubs for rent, bringing your own can enhance your comfort and performance. [fidistravel.com] How to drive This might sound funny, but it takes a moment or two to adjust to driving on the left side of the road. You’re going to have some silly moments, like roundabouts, to deal with. But you are going to want to drive, in order to see all you can see. EMBARKING ON A GOLF TRIP TO IRELAND PROMISES AN UNFORGETTABLE ADVENTURE, BLENDING CHALLENGING COURSES WITH THE COUNTRY’S RENOWNED HOSPITALITY AND NATURAL BEAUTY.

A New Chapter for the Santos de Cartier Watch

The Santos de Cartier watch is a cornerstone of modern horology, born from innovation and continually reimagined to suit the times. This latest evolution honors the origins of the iconic timepiece with the introduction of a refined small model, thoughtfully sized at 27 mm x 34.5 mm. Its proportions pay tribute to the earliest Santos watches created for pioneering aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont in 1904 — the very first modern wristwatch, designed for ease of use during flight. Remaining faithful to the collection’s style, this new interpretation preserves the aesthetic codes that have defined the Santos de Cartier for more than a century: a square case, visible screws, and fluid lines. The industrial nature of the screws contrasts elegantly with the sophistication of the new sunray-effect dial, offering subtle radiance within a streamlined silhouette. Though more compact, this edition carries the same presence and polish as the larger Santos models. Available in all-steel, yellow gold and steel, or solid yellow gold, the watches are powered by high-autonomy quartz movements, tailored to the smaller case dimensions. Each version is water-resistant to 30 meters and features Cartier’s signature interchangeable strap system, allowing for effortless transitions between a bracelet and leather strap. The leather options, fitted with ardillon buckles, are crafted in smooth calfskin for the steel and two-tone models and in alligator for the all gold edition. With its precise design, wearable proportions, and enduring pioneering spirit, the new Santos de Cartier small model represents yet another milestone in the story of a true Cartier icon.

THE ENGAGEMENT

By Jennifer Brugh

from

Love Story

It was the engagement heard round the world, breaking the internet on a random Tuesday. But while everyone else was focused on how Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce broke the news, we couldn’t help but notice the what — a stunning custom-made engagement ring sporting an old-mine-cut cushion diamond in an 18k gold setting. A nod to the 18th and 19th centuries, the most historical engagement ring on the planet is telling us one thing: we’re entering an exciting new era in bridal!

to

Legendary

USHERING IN A NEW ERA IN BRIDAL

Yellow Gold Yellow gold is reclaiming center stage, and for good reason. Its buttery warmth flatters every skin tone and instantly lends modern rings a sense of history. Its soft hue reads luxe yet lived-in, dressing up a sleek, round brilliant or framing an antique- leaning cut with ease. Whether you love a tapered shank, a bezel-kissed profile, or delicate engraving, yellow gold sets the mood for such a romantic occasion.

Big Solitaires The solitaire is stepping into the spotlight again — bolder, lower, and more considered. Today’s solitaire silhouettes highlight presence without the pretense. Think a low and effortless setting, a pared band that lets the diamond sing, with side notes that complement the center stone, rather than compete with it. Solitaires are making a comeback in a big way and can take your love story from classic romance to living legend.

Fancy Cuts

The season belongs to soft corners and old-world charm. Elongated cushions and old mine cuts exude unabashed romance, with larger, antique- style facets that shimmer in any light. If the popstar’s new bling caught your eye, then you’ll love a center stone that favors character over conformity. And if you’re into numerology, an old-mine-cut cushion has 58 facets: 5+8=13!

Taylor’s ring is inspir- ing elongated diamond cuts, solitaire settings, and vintage details

Natural Diamonds

STUNNING BEAUTY, LASTING VALUE

Before ever gracing your fingers, earlobes, necklines, and wrists, natural diamonds have undergone a transformation unlike any other. Formed deep within the earth under unimaginable heat and pressure, they can take up to 3.5 billion years to come into being. This incredible journey from the heart of the planet to your jewelry box is a testament to time, care, and patience: values as precious as the stones themselves. Beyond their beauty lies a deeper worth. Natural diamonds are not only investments in style but also in lasting value. Due to their rarity and continued demand, diamonds often appreciate over time, making them an asset you’ll never regret.

Lab-grown diamonds, while visually similar, lack this ancient origin and the mystique that comes with it. That difference in authenticity is one reason these inferior stones do not retain their value over time. Their rapid, factory-controlled creation process is not as environmentally friendly as was originally claimed, and it cannot replicate the natural story or intrinsic worth that earth-forged diamonds possess. In contrast, the natural diamond industry has embraced a new kind of brilliance: from ethical mining practices to sustainability initiatives, there is a growing commitment to protecting our planet and honoring the people behind every gem. It’s a reflection of our shared responsibility — to ourselves, to each other, and to the earth. With a rich heritage and a legacy as old as the stars, natural diamonds are more than just jewelry. They are heirlooms, investments, and evidence of enduring beauty born from the depths of time. In every facet, they tell a story — one of resilience, rarity, and timeless elegance.

NATURAL DIAMONDS HAVE CAPTIVATED US FOR CENTURIES — AND FOR GOOD REASON. THESE BREATHTAKING GEMS ARE MORE THAN JUST DAZZLING ADORNMENTS; THEY ARE RARE SYMBOLS OF ENDURANCE, TRADITION, AND LOVE.

The future

Mr. & Mrs. Alott

“James and I went to high school together at Staples but didn’t become friends until after graduation working at Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club together. From that friendship we started dating while we were in college.

For the engagement we were out in Big Sky Montana which we visit a lot and is a very special place for us. One of the hotels out there is the Montage which is one of our favorite places to pop in for a drink while we’re out in Big Sky.”

“I thought we were just walking into the Montage for a cocktail before dinner when James walked out to the balcony and proposed. We flew back to NY the next day and had a surprise brunch with both of our families.”

HERITAGE COLLECTION Breitling Refreshes new wave: The Breitling Superocean Heritage returns with its first major update since 2017, now sleeker, sharper, and ready for sun-soaked adventures. Designed to channel the spirit of the sea with modern finishing, the new collection combines the soul of the 1950s original with contemporary proportions, streamlined features, and a nod to Hawaiian surf culture. the Superocean

A new assortment of sizes includes 36 mm, 40 mm, 42 mm, and 44 mm cases, all with a slimmer profile and new bracelets and straps designed for comfort and water-readiness. The 42 mm chronographs are powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. The automatic models in 44 mm, 42 mm, and 40 mm feature the new B31 three-hand manufacture movement, while the 36 mm version houses the Caliber 10. Color choices have been simplified to core dial tones — black, blue, and green — and each paired with a ceramic bezel for long- lasting durability. Finishing touches, such as red gold accents and improved symmetry and proportions, bring polish without losing the watch’s sporty nature.

Breitling also introduced the Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 40 “Kelly Slater” Limited Edition, a 500-piece tribute to the surfing legend. With a tropical foliage dial and custom floral packaging, it’s a laid-back yet tool-ready piece that captures Slater’s deep connection to Hawaii and the ocean. From cutting through waves to relaxing on shore, the refreshed Superocean Heritage lineup proves that seaworthy watches don’t have to sacrifice elegance for performance. Whether you’re a diver, surfer, or just enjoy the look, these new models are ready to go wherever the tide takes you.

Two Speedmaster Models Join Omega’s Collection, Celebrating the Company’s Historic Ties with Space Exploration

“The First OMEGA in Space” Makes a Vintage Return In 1962, astronaut Walter “Wally” Schirra wore his personal Speedmaster CK 2998 during the Sigma 7 mission in 1962, making it the First Omega in Space (FOiS). For 2024, the FOiS has returned to production, now with a modern Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861 update. This year’s updated models follow the original style, each with a symmetrical 39.70 mm case in polished-brushed stainless steel. The dark bezel ring has been produced in black aluminum and features the Speedmaster’s essential tachymeter scale. There’s also a brand new hesalite-like form sapphire crystal and a CVD-coated dial in a gray- blue color. The “First Omega in Space” is available on a black or brown leather strap or a full metal bracelet.

Speedmaster Moonwatch with Lacquered White Dial Already renowned as the most iconic chronograph on Earth, the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch is now available with a lacquered white dial with black and red details, inspired by astronaut spacesuits. The 42 mm stainless steel timepiece, which houses the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861, is presented on a vintage-inspired stainless steel bracelet with five arched links per row. Two more versions are also available, including one on a black micro-perforated leather strap with red and white stitching and another on an anti- bacterial rubber strap with a moon surface pattern in positive relief on the underside for increased comfort and aesthetics.

SECOND TIME’S When it comes to pre-owned watches, there’s something about the unexpected: a rare reference rediscovered, a vintage piece with a perfectly aged dial, or a recently discontinued model that’s already become collector lore. The result? A highly personal collection — pieces for work, for travel, for ceremony — that speak not just to taste but to timing. a charm

In today’s collecting culture, a single watch no longer defines a wardrobe. Instead, the rotation becomes part of the ritual. Sporty one day, dressy the next, every piece tells its own story: a ’70s chronograph, a minimalist diver, a Swiss- made icon once passed over and now impossible to find. These are watches that carry both character and craftsmanship. But provenance matters. Established jewelers and heritage boutiques offer more than inventory — they offer expertise: in-house watchmakers, verified service histories, and a level of trust that digital marketplaces rarely match. A fine timepiece deserves a place where knowledge and care are part of the transaction. The right pre-owned watch doesn’t just tell time, it tells a story — of craftsmanship honed over generations, of life moments (big and small), and of styles that transcend trends. Each scratch, patina, and detail carries the imprint of its past, while its owner continues to write its story.
