Celebrities and their pricey watches are not a new concept, but lately it seems that both onscreen and off, the stars are eager to show off what’s happening on their wrists. Among marriages between celebrities and watch brands, few are as seamless as TAG Heuer and Patrick Dempsey, who wears the brand’s iconic Monaco during his offscreen life, as both a driver and owner of a racing team. “The greatest honor for me has been the ability to get to know [retired TAG Heuer chairman] Jack Heuer, to understand everything he did,” Dempsey said during a 2019 party celebrating the Monaco’s 50th anniversary. “He really geeks out over the technical side [of watches]. He’s an engineer, so he loves that. But it’s also how he marketed the watches. His story is something really special.”
