But, like almost everything associated with planning a wedding, these ceremonies, too, can come with their own set of challenges. “I feel like smaller weddings put a lot less stress on the bride,” Amber says. “But in some cases, it puts more stress on them because they have to cut guest lists,. It can be very daunting, when one aunt can come and others can’t. How do you choose your favorite aunt?” With a microwedding comes plenty of creativity. Some brides choose to wear lace or pearl studded masks, while others are providing individual monogrammed bottles of hand sanitizer for guests. Some have even moved their venues outdoors, away from enclosed spaces. Both Amber and Garrette foresee microweddings and elopements climbing in popularity, not just for the rest of 2020, but into 2021 as well. So no matter how big or small your wedding, remember that in the end, it’s always about the celebration of love.
