LUMINOR MARINAS PANERAI ADDS A TOUCH OF GOLD AND A LOT OF LUME TO NEW
The Panerai Luminor Marina, with its sandwich dial, large case, and massive hinged crown protector, is one of the most recognizable sports watches in the world. The new Luminor Marina PAM01313 and PAM 1314 represent an evolution of the design, with a stronger, high-performance Super-LumiNova that glows neon green in the dark. The 1313 has a dramatic blue dial, and the 1314 has a white dial. The cases are steel.
The in-house movement P.9010 has two mainspring barrels for a three-day power reserve, as well as a rapid time adjustment function, which can move forward or backward in increments of an hour and is automatically connected to the date indicator. It is water resistant to 300 meters and has an Incabloc anti-shock device. The blue dial model (PAM01313) comes with a blue alligator strap and a second rubber strap. The white dial model (PAM 1314) has a scamosciato black soft leather strap with ecru stitching. Both have steel cases. The case is 44 mm by 15.65 mm thick. The new gold case of Luminor Marina Goldtech 44 mm PAM01112 changes the look of this classic model dramatically, adding a refined, dressy element to the sports aesthetic. It does so without retracting from the durability required of a sports watch — this is a special, proprietary gold that Panerai calls Goldtech, mixed with a technically advanced alloy that makes it tougher, a bit darker, and less likely to oxidize than regular 18k 5N pink gold. The gold contains a high percentage of copper (24%), combined with platinum (0.4%). The finish is alternately satin and glossy, which adds dimension and makes the gold less flashy in such a big case. It is matched with a bold blue satin-finished sandwich dial that also tends to make a gold watch less formal. It also contains the P.9010, with a three-day power reserve, as well as a rapid time adjustment function. It is water resistant to 50 meters and comes on an alligator strap with an additional dark blue rubber strap. The small seconds and date window add utility to this dressy Luminor.
