THE SERPENTI SEDUTTORI AND OCTO FINISSIMO CLASS CBULGARI
The Serpenti Seduttori collection for ladies and the Octo Finissimo line for men are pillars of Bulgari’s watchmaking division. Both are symbols of the brand’s aesthetic — modern design combined with signature Bulgari flourishes — and both lines include models that represent Bulgari’s distinctive achievements as a watchmaker. There are gem-set pieces, interesting hand finishing, and high-watchmaking complications, including tourbillons and minute repeaters. There are even world records: Bulgari has mastered the art of micro-engineering, creating the world’s thinnest automatic, tourbillon, minute repeater, and chronograph movements, all within the Octo Finissimo collection. Bulgari brings this expertise and know-how to its basic, everyday models, all of which are crafted to the same standards and attention to detail as even the highest complications. THE OCTO FINISSIMO is Bulgari’s ultimate example of modern high watchmaking. It is an innovative design, with its distinctive eight-sided case and round bezel, and it is the venue for the brand’s world record for ultra-thin watchmaking innovation. The Octo Finissimo Automatic contains the ultra-thin Bulgari caliber BVL 138 Finissimo movement, with a platinum micro-rotor. The movement measures only 2.23 mm thick, and in the case, the watch measures a mere 6.40 mm thick and 40 mm wide. The dial is modern minimalist, with
narrow markers, a discreet small seconds dial at 7 o’clock, and beveled, semi-skeletonized hands. Another version features the distinctive glow of blue lacquer, with a subtle sunburst finish. The case and bracelet links are given an innovative satin-polished finish that is unique among stainless steel watches. The polished middle links on the bracelet create an interesting contrast to the s a t i n polished outer links. It is water-resistant to 100 meters. There is also an 18k rose gold model, with the gold also given a satin-polished finish, which looks great on a black alligator strap. THE SERPENTI SEDUTTORI is modern yet classic Bulgari, and is the brand’s fullest and most diverse ladies’ collection. There are several references, including a tourbillon version containing the BVL150 caliber, the world’s smallest tourbillon caliber. There are also various diamond options and a two-tone steel and gold option with a more accessible price point. There is even a steel version with diamonds. The design inspiration of the Seduttori, of course, is the serpent, the signature motif for Bulgari for the past several decades, in both jewelry and watches. It is a symbol of eternity, wisdom, and seduction, and it has come to represent Bulgari’s fearless sense of design. The Serpenti Seduttori adopts the iconic drop- shaped case that echoes the shape of a serpent’s head originally used in the Serpenti Tubogas collection. The Seduttori has a thinner case than that of previous models for a sleeker fit. A highlight of the model is its sinewy bracelet that is elaborately constructed to be flexible and luxuriously comfortable on the wrist. It was inspired by the original Bulgari Serpenti watch and is made with individual links which, like the case, take the shape a serpent’s head. A version with diamond setting on the inner links emphasizes this unusual shape. The crown is topped by a pink rubellite cabochon, a nod to Bulgari’s important roots as a jeweler and a testament to the attention to detail that is applied to all its watches.
