Make Donations Giving an organization or someone you know financial assistance is a significant blessing and shouldn’t be something you take lightly. Yet, if you’re unsure where to start, what causes to give to, or where to find resources, you can check out your local food and homeless shelters. They are always in need of supplies that require financial support. If you want to support fundraisers, the easiest place to look is GoFundMe, especially for those struggling because of all the challenges this year has brought. Also, consider keeping your shopping local and supporting local businesses. Many of our area restaurants, shops, and service-based businesses could use the boost. Plus, the customer service is more personable, and you know exactly where your money is going. Give Creatively Giving back to your community doesn’t always involve monetary donations. Instead, look for ways to donate things around your home. Perhaps you want to go through your closet and get rid of unused clothes. Or maybe you want to donate an older computer or laptop you don’t use anymore. Find an organization or business near you that is donating them to employees and students working from home. Have a particular skill? You can donate your time. If you know how to sew, consider making personalized masks for your neighbors. If you know how to design a website, think about a local business
struggling and reach out. You can even host an online fitness class for your local nursing homes, providing these individuals with much- needed activity and exercise. Encourage Social Responsibility at the Office Corporations have a social responsibility, you can help your employer or company meet those obligations in many ways. You might start small and stay small, identifying with the “think globally, work locally” mindset.
