WESCHE HONORS

BY JENNIFER BRUGH

HOLLY WESCHE NAMED TO RETAILER HALL OF FAME 2023 GENERATIONAL EXCELLENCE F or over 45 years, Wesche Jewelers has been known for its beautiful jewelry but also as a knowledgeable and trusted jeweler in the Brevard County community. When Jim and June Wesche opened their small family-owned jewelry store in Melbourne, FL, in 1977, they never could have imagined it would flourish and grow into the company it is today. And it’s very likely they also never could have imagined that their oldest daughter, Holly, would one day be named to the National Jeweler Retailer Hall of Fame. But that’s exactly what happened this past October. Holly is the third generation of a family who has a rich history in the jewelry industry. Earning the induction under the Single-Store Independent category, Holly further enshrined her family’s name and business into the archives. For decades, she has been following in her late father’s and great-uncle’s footsteps, carrying the business to new heights. Just like her father and great uncle before her, Holly has held prestigious association titles like President of the Florida Jewelers Association and Chair of the Jewelers of America Board of Directors (being only the third woman to do so in the association’s history). Now, she’s breaking ground, yet again, earning her spot among some of the best jewelers in the country. As an annual honor, being named into the Retailer Hall of Fame is worthy of not just a plaque on the wall but also national recognition. Jewelers in each of their respective categories are recognized for their contributions to the industry as well as to their communities. From 1977 until today, the Wesche family has been very involved in the local community giving both their time and resources to various charities and organizations. But if you ask Holly, she’ll probably tell you that this honor is due in great part to the Wesche Team. “No one achieves this type of recognition on their own,” she says. “Our business has been a success because of the long-term contributions of many key people who have worked with us over the years.” From a small store located beachside in Indialantic to now one of the largest independent jewelers in Central Florida, Wesche Jewelers is looking toward the future and another milestone on the horizon: the celebration of 50 years in business in 2027.
