DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

THE JEWELERS’ JEWELER S ince 1912, Oscar Heyman has been creating magnificent jewelry with the finest gemstones sourced from around the world at their atelier in New York City. Beginning as a manufacturing house for companies such as Cartier and Tiffany & Co., they developed a reputation for excellence in handcrafting one-of-a-kind treasures. At the 1939 World’s Fair, they earned the nickname the Jewelers’ Jeweler , which was used as the name for the recent book on the brand published by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. In addition to their collection of heirloom-quality pieces, Oscar Heyman is deeply passionate about creating custom jewelry, an endeavor they are uniquely well-positioned to do. Whether you desire a traditional three-stone ring, or a piece from the depths of your imagination, your masterpiece will contain exquisite gemstones. Beyond diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires, Oscar Heyman specializes in esoteric gemstones with equally glamorous appeal, including alexandrite, paraiba, cat’s-eye chrysoberyl, opal, aquamarine, star ruby, and star sapphire. The design process for custom pieces is highly collaborative. Designs are often presented as a hand-drawn gouache painting and a 3-D CAD model. The final version will be filed in their historic archives of over 200,000 designs. The goal of the design phase is to ensure that the manifestation of your dream will be crafted to exact specifications. The company’s Madison Avenue workshop houses their entire production. Their excellence is guaranteed by lapidaries, jewelers, setters and polishers working in conjunction with designers to bring a two-dimensional design to life. Each artisan bestows close personal attention upon the piece at each step of its formation. Every piece of jewelry is signed and stamped with a serial number. Whether you purchase a piece from their imagination or your own, your one-of-a-kind treasure is delivered to you with a certificate of authenticity and corresponding gem reports, signifying its legacy in your collection.
