Carte Blanche Home & Design opened its doors in early 2021, and has quickly emerged as one of Pittsburgh's most sought after locations for home interiors and Design. Founded by former fortune 100 executive, Rachel Schaffer, Carte Blanche presents a collected and global aesthetic featuring artisanal and approachable luxury brands sourced from around the world. The store's wares reflect Schaffer's love of tradition, hospitality, patina, and objects that tell a story. " Carte Blanche doesn't sell products, we provide an experience" states Schaffer. "We want our customers to a feel sense of comfort, yet feel inspired & empowered to make choices to make their homes uniquely them". A quick tour of the store will reveal a decidedly European feel, with touches of antiquity mixed with modern furnishings, heirloom rugs, sculptural lighting, abstract art amongst hand-crafted ceramics, and of course all things Belgian linen. From the complex notes emitting from the Penn Chemist Candles, to the color inspiration on the Farrow & Ball display, each vignette is designed to invoke a sensory response.
