DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT
BY CAROL BESLER
R oberto Coin, the maestro of Italian jewelry design, has a way of putting a new twist on his most beloved collections, with hundreds of new designs every year that complement and build on previous favorites. This year, he adds a literal twist to his Love in Verona collection, with new pieces incorporating a twisted gold motif — perhaps reflecting the twisted fate of the Verona lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who inspired the collection. Roberto has added diamonds to some of the pieces, either in the form of pavé on rings and bangles or lined up riviera-style on classic line or Y necklaces. In some pieces, diamonds form the petals of the signature four-petal flower motif. THE ROMANTIC, TWISTED, COLORFUL DESIGNS OF ITALIAN MASTER ROBERTO COIN
The rectangular elements of Roberto’s Domino collection were inspired by the pieces used in the Chinese game of the same name, with repeated elements that symbolically trigger the domino effect. Gold and diamonds certainly elevate the game, making every wearer a winner!
