OUR STORY

A Bright Future

F For three generations, Brinker’s Jewelers has held ourselves to the highest jewelry industry standards. Our foundation has been built on servicing the products we sell, developing personal relationships with our customers, and establishing generational partnerships with our suppliers. Brinker’s Jewelers is a multi-location, luxury, jewelry retailer and manufacturer with our headquarters located in Evansville, Indiana.

Two years ago, we achieved a rare milestone for a family business when we celebrated our 50th anniversary. At that time, we announced renovation plans to turn our flagship location into a 13,000 square foot space with a brand- new showroom experience, enlarged jewelry and watch repair centers, and expanded offices for our ever-growing staff which is to be completed in 2026.

We would not be celebrating 52 years in business without the loyal support of our customers. We are thankful for our customer’s trust in us and for our team’s dedication to the Brinker family. We hope you enjoy this year’s edition of Brinker’s Magazine and we look forward to sharing the 2024 holiday season with you and your family.

All of the jewelry and fine timepieces are the embodiment of elegance and luxury along with the refined detail that Silverleaf members and their guests expect from The Silverleaf Club.

Building on the success of our Silverleaf location, we are excited to announce that in January of 2025 we are expanding our operations in Scottsdale, AZ, with the acquisition of Scottsdale Fine Jewelers. power FABULOUSLY FEMININE FLORAL MOTIFS ARE ONE OF THE YEAR’S TOP TRENDS, AND IT ISN’T HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHY. lower F

W

What’s more appealing than a flower? These ephemeral beauties from the earth are so enchanting that we plant them in our gardens, arrange them on our tables, and gift them to loved ones in both good times and bad. And the best thing about flower jewelry is that it will never wilt; a bejeweled bloom is forever! Ready to start gathering your jewelry bouquet? If you’re feeling colorful, look for gem-adorned floral jewelry to capture the glow of richly-hued petals in sunlight. If you want something more neutral, choose flower motifs with white diamond details for a look that calls to mind the romance of a moonlit garden or the striking sight of winter leaves kissed with shimmering ice.

Don’t forget to include the flower’s flying friends while cultivating your personal patch of flower jewels! After all, what garden is complete without the buzz of a busy bee, or the flutter of a butterfly’s delicate wings? These tiny creatures also translate gorgeously into jewelry and can be worn either alone or alongside floral styles for a delightful garden-themed ensemble.

INTERCHANGING FINE JEWELRY BANDS CAN ADD AN ELEMENT OF FRESHNESS AND EXCITEMENT TO YOUR PERSONAL COLLECTION.

L

Life is layered. From personal milestones to anniversaries and beyond, there are many moments to be marked and celebrated — and fine jewelry, with its timeless allure that transcends cultures and generations, is the perfect way to do just that. Minimal-but-mighty bands serve as lasting mementos of love, commitment, and success that can be passed down for generations to come. One of the beauties of owning such bands is their versatility. Unlike some jewelry pieces that are more distinct in style or cater to a specific occasion, bands can be elegantly simple or intri- cately designed, making them suitable for a variety of settings. This adaptability allows the wearer to express their unique style and preferences, celebrating their journey with pieces that truly resonate with them.

Owning multiple fine jewelry bands is not just a luxury; it’s a form of personal expression. Each band can tell a different story or represent a different chapter in one’s life. Take a classic diamond-studded band; it may symbolize an engagement, while a more modern, minimalist design might mark a career milestone or personal accomplishment. The ability to interchange the bands allows for a dynamic way to honor and remember life’s most important moments. It also means it’s easy to match jewelry to an outfit, mood, or the specific nature of any event. Interchanging fine jewelry bands can add an element of freshness and excitement to a personal collection, and prevent the monotony of wearing the same piece every day. A range of different combinations allows for the

joy of rediscovering a beloved band from occasions past. That not only enhances the value of each piece but also keeps accessories feeling fresh. Fine jewelry bands are more than just decorative; they are tokens of life’s most cherished moments — big or small. Combining multiple interchangeable rings is a great way to celebrate originality and style, as well as life’s special memories.

Custom Design CRAFTING THE PERFECT SYMBOL OF LOVE THAT IS UNIQUELY YOURS, ALONE

D

A good understanding of their style will help to create a ring they will love.

Designing a custom engagement ring is a deeply personal and exciting journey, allowing you to create a unique symbol of love that reflects your soon-to-be bride’s style. At Brinker’s Jewelers we have experts to help guide you through the easy steps of custom designing your own unique ring and creating a treasure to mark the start your new life together.

To get started, it’s always a good idea to gather intel on your partner’s preferred style. Look at their existing jewelry for clues: Do they wear mostly silver or gold jewelry? Do they lean towards classic, vintage, or modern designs? Have they ever dropped any hints or shown you a picture of their dream ring? (A picture is worth a thousand words!) Consider whether they favor intricate details or minimalist elegance.

18 BRINKER’S JEWELERS MAGAZINE

Custom designing an engagement ring, or any piece of jewelry, offers flexibility in terms of design and cost. Set a budget that is comfortable for you, keeping in mind that the final price will be influenced by factors such as the choice of metal, the size and quality of the gemstone, and the complexity of the design. Discussing your budget will help to create a design that meets your expectations. Don’t forget to consider options like engraving, which can add a very personal touch to the ring.

Traditionally, popping the question and presenting an engagement ring is designed to be a surprise. However, today it is common to find couples shopping together to select their all-important rings. Designing a custom engagement ring, either as a surprise or as a venture done together, can be a fulfilling experience that results in a truly one-of-a- kind piece.

We will work closely with you to create a beautiful and meaningful ring that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Long-time clients of Brinker’s Jewelers know they are in good hands and that any redesign of their precious jewels will reflect their own personal sense of taste and style. An engagement ring upgrade can mean anything from swapping out a center stone to enhancing the original setting with a halo of diamonds or a detailed prong and

gallery setting. Many couples add diamond anniversary bands or wraps that also have the power to alter the look and elevate the impact of a diamond in an existing ring. For some couples, the best option is to upgrade to a new diamond ring due to a change in style preference or damage to the original ring. Consider enhancing the design

with layers of meaning by adding children’s birthstones, specialized filigree metalwork, inscriptions to the band or three-stone “past, present, and future” symbolism. Remounting to create a necklace or new piece of jewelry is also a beautiful way to pass your original diamond on to your next generation.

Whether a few subtle diamond-set hour markers or a timepiece entirely pavéd in precious gems, bejeweled watches are cherished for the added sparkle they add to any wrist. Depending on the number of gems used — not to mention whether precious metals are also added into the mix — bejeweled watches can range from relatively affordable to exceedingly expensive, making it easy to find a suitable one for a variety of budgets. While dressier timepieces embellished with gems are classics, robust sports watches decorated with a dash of diamonds make a strong style statement. Diamonds paired with gold is a tried- and-true formula that’s easy to fall in love with, yet stainless steel peppered with diamonds is the timekeeping equivalent of fashion- forward high-low dressing.

Seiko Coutura Expressing a polished and modern sophistication, the Coutura Collection combines bold angularity and elegant design with superior timekeeping for effortless sport/dress aesthetic. This versatile timepiece features a diamond bezel and a shimmering pink mother-of-pearl dial with 72 diamonds adorning the bezel and a perfectly proportioned case and bracelet.

TAG Heuer Carrera Date Reference With its subtle powdery pink-colored dial circled by a shimmering flange, this 36 mm timepiece marries sturdy stainless steel with sparkling diamonds.

One particularly popular way to use gemstones on a watch is with diamond- set bezels; the halo of gems that tops the watch case and frames the dial is a surefire way to take any timepiece from discreet to dazzling. Another favorite option is to

In 2013, the city of Detroit filed for bankruptcy. Shinola, the watch and lifestyle brand that proudly calls Detroit home, decided to fight back against all the headlines that dismissed the once-prosperous city with a provocative ad campaign in the New York Times with the headline: “To Those Who Have Dismissed Detroit, We Give You The Birdy.”

Birdy Jasper ref. S0120291078 Inside the gold PVD 34 mm case is a fine porcelain jasper dial with an earthy hue that ranges from rusty red to dust pink. Fitted with a gold PVD three-link bracelet.

Not only was it a catchy way to announce the Birdy watch, Shinola’s newest ladies’ timepiece collection, it also reminded the nation that there were people who still lived, worked, and flourished in Detroit regardless of what the critics said. Over a decade later, the Birdy watch remains a mainstay of Shinola’s catalog, maintaining its recognizable round case silhouette with coin- edge detailing, an oversized winding crown, wire lugs, a slim strap, and the Argonite 775 high-frequency quartz movement hand-assembled in Detroit. Stone dials became a hallmark of the Birdy collection, starting with the Petoskey stone to pay homage to the hidden gems found along northern Michigan beaches and evolving to include other natural materials. Against the odds, the Motor City is moving forward with its comeback story. And the Shinola Birdy collection continues to fly to new heights.

ACCESSORIES FOR HIM

By Noah Williams

I If you ask the average man what accessories he has, his answer would probably include a watch, maybe some cufflinks, and a wedding band. While we tend to accept this as the norm, historically this wasn’t the case. Men have worn jewelry since ancient times. It signified status, power, and wealth. In early civilizations like Egypt and Mesopotamia, kings and warriors adorned themselves with elaborate pieces made from gold, silver, and gemstones. The Romans wore rings as symbols of rank, and medieval knights donned signet rings for identification. During the Renaissance, jewelry became more ornate, reflecting artistic trends of the time. In the 19th and 20th centuries, men’s jewelry became more understated and included cufflinks and tie pins. Today, men’s jewelry is experiencing a resurgence, blending traditional styles with modern designs to express individuality and personal style. With the right touches, a few accessories can elevate almost any ensemble, taking it from ordinary to exceptional. A Revolution in THE RESURGENCE OF MEN AND JEWELRY Accessories

HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO GET STARTED.

Right off the top , a mechanical watch is an essential starting point. While smartwatches are great, and, yes, your phone can tell the time, nothing replaces the feeling of a beautifully crafted timepiece on the wrist. A great watch will easily last the rest of your life and become an heirloom. Pair the purchase with a significant life event, like a wedding or

the birth of a child, and add extra significance to the piece. There are plenty of phenomenal brands out there. An obvious list topper is the Rolex Submariner Date. As an added bonus, the case back makes a perfect canvas for engraving dates or sentimental messages, effectively etching a memory you can carry with you for life.

For diver enthusiasts, Oris has a range of options. The Divers Sixty-Five Date is iconic and comes in a variety of colors and case sizes. For the gear heads and lovers of German engineering, TAG Heuer’s Carrera line ranges from beautiful precious metal pieces to rugged stainless steel models that are classically styled and will look great for decades.

30 BRINKER’S JEWELERS MAGAZINE

When it comes to bracelets, the options are endless. Stacking a few colorful beaded bracelets with leather or metal bracelets is a hot modern look and adds instant personality to any ensemble.

Moving on to wedding bands , you don’t have to have just one anymore. While the ring you receive on your wedding day will always be the most significant, owning multiple bands is a great way to mix things up stylistically, while also preserving the more delicate metals. Swapping in a titanium band, or even just a

brushed finished ring as opposed to high polish, can make a marked difference. And while we’re on the subject of rings, a signet ring is also a great piece for both formal occasions or everyday wear — plus, they are seriously cool.

A BIG TURNOFF

A bout 60% of people say they’re addicted to their phones. Are you one of them? Constant connection can sap your quality of life and overload your senses. It could be time for a digital detox. Taking time away from screens can help rejuvenate your mental and physical health. You’ll feel new energy for your relationships and the things you used to love to do. Here are four reasons a digital detox is worthwhile and a few tips to get started.

TIME FOR A

Digital

By Gary Wollenhaupt Detox

The Benefits of a Digital Detox

How to Start Your Detox Mindfulness. Ask yourself why you’re using your phone. Are you bored? Afraid of missing out? Stressed with work? Examine your emotions to understand why you turn to your phone. Schedule a break. If you suspect you’re addicted, set an alarm for 15-30 minutes and put your phone down. Make the breaks longer over time. Substitute a habit. Instead of picking up your phone, fill the urge with something else.

Believe in yourself. Carefully curated lifestyles on social media lead you to compare yourself with others. It’s easy to forget the flawless model has a team of makeup artists just off camera. Don’t let that affect how you see yourself. Spending less time in that fantasy world can boost your self esteem. Get healthier. Staying glued to your smartphone for several hours can lead to eye strain, dry eyes, blurry vision, teary eyes, and headaches. It can also rob you of sleep by delaying the release of melatonin. If possible, stop looking at your device an hour before bed, and even better, don’t take it to the bedroom with you.

Target the problem. Restrict or eliminate specific issues, like a social media app or game. You may decide on a total fast for a day or a week or focus on a specific detox, such as social media. Let friends and family know so that they can help and support you.

Feel content. Experiments have found that scheduling a break from digital devices can lower your stress levels. It can also help you focus on the present and pay more attention to things around you rather than giving in to FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Be focused. Scrolling through your favorite social media sites or deep diving into Wikipedia can consume time otherwise devoted to your responsibilities. Set your phone aside to focus on things you want to get done while feeling less hectic.

NO MATTER HOW YOU TACKLE YOUR DETOX,

YOU’RE CERTAIN TO FEEL REJUVENATED, AND WHO KNOWS, MAYBE YOU’LL PICK UP A NEW HOBBY IN THE PROCESS!

TAG Heuer CARRERA CHRONOGRAPH PANDA

Introduced in 1963 and named after the legendary Carrera Panamericana Road race, the TAG Heuer Carrera has defined the wristwatch chronograph genre for over six decades. TAG Heuer now introduces its latest Carrera Chronograph, which draws inspiration from a vintage model and comes fitted with a striking silver and black “Panda” dial. It was Jack Heuer who designed the Carrera, focused on creating a chronograph with an uncluttered, functional dial. While he developed countless Carrera creations, it is the 7753 SN from the late 1960s that serves as inspiration for this newest iteration. Maintaining the spirit of legibility, the black azuré subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock contrast with the silver sunray-brushed dial, creating the signature bi-compax “panda” look. The addition of captivating, red-lacquered sub-dial hands further amplifies the contrast, ensuring clarity at a glance.

To further elevate readability, the watch incorporates TAG Heuer’s iconic glass box design, set to become a staple of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph line. The 39 mm steel case, topped with a sapphire crystal reminiscent of 1970s Heuer Carrera models, has been redeveloped where the crystal flows seamlessly over the tachymeter scale and into the case. The contrasting black curved flange and curved rhodium-plated indexes contribute to the watch’s cohesive aesthetic.

watch reveals the in-house automatic Caliber Heuer 02 (Ref. TH20-00) chronograph movement that drives the watch with 80 hours of power reserve. The new Carrera Chronograph Panda not only builds upon the Carrera’s rich heritage but also embodies the innovation and avant-garde spirit for which TAG Heuer is renowned.

The rhodium-plated central hand features a red-lacquered tip, catching the eye when reading the time. The black seconds hand ensures a clear distinction. Notably, each 5-second interval is marked in red, enhancing visibility. This also marks the first time the redesigned Carrera Chronograph is fitted with a steel bracelet, a welcome addition to the line. The back of the

911 S/T

T The 60th-anniversary edition of the Porsche 911 S/T is a commemorative lightweight edition built to extract as much driving enjoyment from the 911 platform as possible. It’s a collector’s item from day one, with a limited run of 1,963 units. The directive to the engineers at Porsche was simple: create a purpose-built machine for a pure, undiluted driving experience.

The starting point was the original 911 S version from 1969, tweaked for competitive racing. The new 911 S/T embodies the spirit of the original 911 S for the current generation of the venerable Porsche 911. It’s the lightest model of its generation, at 3,056 lbs., or 70 lbs. lighter than its sibling, the manual GT3 Touring. Many components, including the hood, roof, doors,

and front fenders, are crafted from carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. Insulation and rear-axle steering were left off the assembly list to save a few pounds. The magnesium wheels and ceramic composite brakes omit additional unnecessary weight. These engineering decisions contribute to agile and direct handling.

38 BRINKER’S JEWELERS MAGAZINE

THE BASE MSRP STARTS AT $293,350, AND THE HERITAGE DESIGN PACKAGE ADDS ANOTHER $20,670. MULTIPLE OPTIONS AND COLORS, INCLUDING PAINT-TO- MATCH, ADD TO THE STICKER PRICE.

Engaging the accelerator puts the pieces in motion, with the exclusive lightweight single-mass flywheel encouraging the naturally aspirated 518 hp, 4.0 L boxer engine to build revs with refreshing directness.

With the short gear ratio on the six-speed manual transmission, the 911 S/T peaks at 9,000 rpm on its way to a top speed of 186 mph, passing 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

With the lightweight flywheel, a firm hand on the gearshift is required to finesse each gear change. The autoblip function does take some of the stress out of coordinating downshifts.

With less insulation and lightweight glass, it’s noisier inside than an average 911, but that’s not all bad. Rather than overwhelming wind or tire noise, you can hear the interactions of the parts orchestrating a symphony of mechanical delights. With only 1,963 examples available worldwide, consider yourself fortunate to see one, let alone own one. The consolation prize is the standard 911 GT3 Touring, which would be the gold medal if you didn’t know the S/T existed.

SEIKO 5 SPORTS The first Seiko 5 Sports watch, the Seiko Sportsmatic 5 (known as the “Five”), was released in 1963. As the first automatic day-date watch from Japan, the “Five” was equipped with five advanced attributes, as represented in the name. A departure from the previously mainstream dress watches with leather straps, the novel design and specifications perfectly matched active scenes, and gained worldwide popularity. For over 50 years, the Five delivered consistently high levels of reliability, durability, performance, and value and is endeared by mechanical watch enthusiasts worldwide. In September 2019, the collection relaunched as the new Seiko 5 Sports under the slogan “Show Your Style”. The lineup, based on the concept of five styles (Sports, Suits, Specialist, Sense, and Street) that symbolize today’s intermingling of diverse values, is designed to meet the individuality of those who wear the watch to create unique styles. In addition to standard models, Seiko has also released collaborative models with musicians and artists.

Each piece of jewelry sold at Brinker’s Jewelers is carefully curated for its beauty, craftsmanship, and value, ensuring that customers receive only the best when they give or receive a little green box from Brinker’s Jewelers. One of the key factors that sets Brinker’s Jewelers apart from other jewelry retailers is our jewelry and watch service centers — we service the products we sell. In today’s world, it is a rarity to be able to buy products from a retail store and have service performed by the same people who sold you that product. Brinker’s Jewelers is a prime example of a retail jewelry store that is innovative and never complacent. In addition to our commitment to the jewelry industry, we also have a long-standing relationship with the game of golf. Golf always has been more than an avocation; it has been intertwined in the fabric of the Brinker family for generations. Brinker’s Jewelers founder,

Roland Brinker, and a group of investors bought a 300-acre parcel of land in McCutchanville, Indiana, in 1994. Together, they designed and built a housing development called Eagle Crossing and with the help of Lohmann Golf Design, they built Eagle Valley Golf Course. The first round of golf was played at Eagle Valley in September 1998. The relationship

between golf and retail jewelry stores may not be immediately apparent, but when examined closely, it becomes clear that there are several parallels. Both golf and jewelry stores cater to a clientele seeking tradition and excellence, making them a natural fit for collaboration and mutual promotion.

Similarly, Brinker’s Jewelers specializes in offering high-end, meticulously crafted products that cater to individuals seeking luxury and elegance. By merging jewelry and golf, we have tapped into the golfing community’s affinity for tradition and excellence while introducing our brand to an audience that shares similar values. As a matter of fact, two of Brinker’s Jewelers’ current brand ambassadors learned to play golf at the family’s public golf course –Eagle Valley. Adam Schenk of Vincennes, Indiana, is currently in his 6th season on the PGA Tour. Kyle Brinker, the current Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Brinker’s Jewelers, used to give Adam golf lessons when he was a young golfer participating in junior golf clinics in the Evansville Junior Golf Association held at Eagle Valley. Dylan Meyer, of Evansville, Indiana, is currently on the Korn Ferry Tour. Dylan also learned to play golf as a junior golfer at Eagle Valley Golf Course. Many of the Brinker family members played golf and gave tips to Dylan over the years, while he was chasing his dream of playing collegiate and, ultimately, professional golf.

Both the Schenk and Meyer families have been personal friends of the Brinker family and long-time customers of Brinker’s Jewelers and Eagle Valley Golf Course. So there was no hesitation for Brinker’s Jewelers to partner with them. By aligning with Adam and Dylan, Brinker’s Jewelers shows we are dedicated to helping the community chase and realize their own dreams while getting our jewelry brand on a global stage. “It’s a surreal moment when you are watching the Master’s, and you see a young man trying to accomplish every golfer’s dream of sliding on a green jacket, and you realize that you used to give him golf lessons when he first started playing. It’s a humbling experience to know that you have been family friends for over 30 years, supported each other’s family businesses for the same amount of time, and you see your Brinker’s Jewelers logo on their shirt or golf bag,” says Kyle. “I have customers call or text me throughout the year and tell me they saw our logo on Adam, Dylan, or even Netflix’s hit show Full Swing,” says Kyle. [Brinker’s Jewelers also has a brand ambassador agreement with PGA Tour member Joel Dahmen’s caddie, Geno Bonnalie.]

Strategic partnerships with brand ambassadors in professional golf are a perfect fit for Brinker’s Jewelers and our family. So many of our customers play golf, are members of country clubs, or are in the golf industry. To be successful in the jewelry industry you have to have excellent relationships built on trust and integrity. Golf is one of the few sports that slows down time in today’s hectic world. Typically, when you’re playing a round of golf, it’s going to take 4 1/2 hours to play an 18-hole round, and there are no interruptions from work, cell phone calls, texts, emails, etc. Golfers go out there to disconnect from their daily routines, share stories, create memories, compete, and form lasting friendships. That is exactly what customers are looking for when it comes to choosing their jeweler!

ORIS Aquis Date GREAT BARRIER REEF LIMITED EDITION IV

O

Oris returns to the water with a 2,000-piece limited edition created to support the Australian non-profit Reef Restoration Foundation. Oris partnered with Reef Restoration Foundation in 2018 based on its mission to bring Change for the Better. “Oris is climate neutral and committed to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals,” says Co-CEO Rolf Studer. “Supporting the Reef Restoration Foundation is a joy, and we’re delighted to shine a light on their work to counter the effects of climate change on the world’s reefs.” The Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV watch is based on the next-

generation Aquis Date Caliber 400 but with a few extra details designed to capture the foundation’s story. These start with the vivid gradient blue dial, which not only mimics the turquoise and blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef from the air but also the refraction of the sun’s rays through the water. This is one of the few times Oris has made a dial gradient that falls vertically from 12 o’clock rather than emanating from the center. The dial is home to center hours, minutes, and seconds hands, as well as a date window at 6 o’clock. The hands and indices are coated with Super- LumiNova for low-light legibility.

The base is the Aquis Date 43.50 mm, the refined versatile tool watch with 300 meters of water resistance. Its stainless steel case, screw-in crown, crown protection, unidirectional rotating bezel, and three-link bracelet have all been redesigned for improved ergonomics and performance.

Inside the case is the game-changing Caliber 400, the in-house automatic movement with 120 hours of power reserve that delivers elevated anti-magnetism, 10-year recommended service intervals, and a 10-year warranty with a MyOris registration.

As with all Aquis Date Caliber 400 models, the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV also features the Oris-patented strap change and quick adjustment systems, both designed for ease of use and versatility.

THERE’S ALSO A GRAY TUNGSTEN

BEZEL INSERT AND A CASEBACK WITH SPECIAL ENGRAVINGS, INCLUDING THE LIMITED-EDITION NUMBER OUT OF THE 2,000 EXAMPLES THAT WILL BE PRODUCED.
