COLLECTING IN COLOR

DIFFERENT GEMSTONES FOR DIFFERENT DAYS, NO EXPLANATION REQU I RED.

IN LIVING

F For years, color was the sidekick of diamonds and gold, a pop of something extra rather than the main focal point. That’s shifted and color isn’t filling in anymore; now it makes for the most fun jewelry in the case and is the perfect way to accentuate an outfit and your personality. Not sure where to begin? Start with the colored tennis bracelet, because it’s the easiest way in. Take that classic line of light you already love and crank up the saturation with sapphire blues, emerald greens, or a pink you can spot from across the room. And then there’s the rainbow version. Every gemstone is a different color, lined up one after another, closer to a candy counter than a jewelry case. It’s the bracelet you know, just way more fun.

Picture a long chain dotted with bezel-set gemstones in every color there is: blue topaz, amethyst, peridot, citrine, a little smoky quartz, each one tucked in warm gold and catching the light its own way. Add the matching bracelet and your wrist does the rest of the talking. The best part is that a single piece already feels like a whole collection, so you’re never really wearing just one thing. And that’s what makes color so personal. Cool blues for the calm days, hot pink and coral for the days you’re feeling it. Reach for one emerald drop to keep things simple, or stack on everything when you don’t. Different gemstones for different days, no explanation required.
