In water polo, Golden Bears captured four medals, highlighted by Team USA’s bronze- medal finish on the men’s side. Goalie Adrian Weinberg, who concluded his Cal career by helping the Bears secure a third consecutive NCAA championship, played a starring role, joined by alumni Luca Cupido, Johnny Hooper, and assistant coach Gavin Arroyo. Alumna Kitty Lynn Joustra helped the Netherlands earn bronze after defeating the three-time
defending Olympic champion United States. Track & field stars included three-time NCAA champion Camryn Rogers (Canada), who won gold in the women’s hammer throw, and rising junior Mykalos Alekna (Lithuania), who earned silver in the men’s discus. Alumna Georgia Bell (Great Britain), returning to competition after a five-year break, captured bronze in the 1,500-meter run. With these achievements, Cal affiliates now
have a total of 246 Olympic medals all-time, including 126 golds — a legacy of excellence that continues to inspire athletes and fans alike.
