OUR STORY
Alson Jewelers GENERATIONS OF EXCELLENCE IN JEWELRY A Alson Jewelers’ rich history began in the 1870s in Kubrin, Poland, where Sam and Ida Schreibman founded a jewelry manufacturing company. Sam was responsible for managing the business, crafting jewelry, and repairing watches, while Ida traveled throughout Poland in a horse-drawn carriage, selling their creations. Recognizing the opportunities America could offer, Sam decided to relocate his family.
In 1918 , Sam and his sons, Alvin and Wilfred, immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio. They settled in the East 37th and Woodland area, where Sam opened a jewelry store. The family lived in the back room, with Alvin and Wilfred assisting by selling newspapers and balloons on the street corner. In 1923, Sam, Alvin, and Wilfred became U.S. citizens, and the business began to show a modest profit. Eventually, Ida and her daughters immigrated to Cleveland, reuniting the family under one roof.
