THE IWC INGENIEUR
First launched in 1955, the IWC Ingenieur was created as a tool watch for scientists and engineers, built around the brand’s first automatic movement and designed to withstand magnetic fields. But it was in the 1970s, under the creative direction
of legendary designer Gérald Genta, that the Ingenieur took on its now- iconic form. With its distinct H-link integrated bracelet, grid-patterned dial, and screw-down bezel with five recesses, the 1976 Ingenieur
SL redefined the collection as a key player in the emerging category of luxury sports watches. Nearly 50 years later, IWC continues to build upon that legacy through the Ingenieur Automatic collection, a modern reinterpretation that combines Genta’s industrial design language with contemporary materials and proportions. Available in both 40mm and 35mm sizes, the two versions share the
same sculptural case, integrated bracelet, textured dial, and straightforward time- and-date functionality.
