Our family is honored to be part of these big moments in our clients’ lives. R.F. Moeller Jeweler reached a milestone of our own in 2021: we are celebrating our 70th anniversary! Oh, what they would say if they could visit our stores, which today represent the finest diamond, watch, and jewelry brands in the world! We are certain they would be proud knowing that we have grown and excelled, but even more pleased to see that our values have not changed. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge that this has been a hard year for many. For this reason, we know now more than ever our mission is critical, and we promise to bring joy through exceptional experience, quality, and service. We will continue to do this the only way we know how: with our world-class team of dedicated metalsmiths, watchmakers, appraisers, designers, jewelers, gemologists, and accredited sales professionals. We hope you enjoy this latest edition of our magazine. TUDORGOES FORGOLD —ANDSILVER

NEW CASE MATERIALS AND A NEW CERTIFICATION FOR THE BLACK BAY

Tudor’s new releases for 2021 go a long way to reinforce its mandate to produce high-quality watches at great price points. This year, the focus is on the flagship Black Bay and Black Bay Fifty-Eight lines, with new case materials, new movements, and a new performance guarantee. The Black Bay Fifty-Eight is getting both an 18k gold case and a 925 silver case. The addition of gold in the line takes the model up a notch on the luxury scale, and the silver is surprising because it’s a rare metal for watches. Since wristwatches became popular, the 1940s, gold has been the standard metal because it is soft enough to machine, yet hard enough for daily wear when alloyed with other metals. Silver was historically ruled out because of its softness and its tendency to tarnish. But times and timepieces change. Just as gold alloys are improving, silver has been upgraded. Tudor is the first brand to introduce the metal into watches, and although the precise alloy formula is top secret, Tudor says it is tarnish-free and hard enough for daily wear. The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925 Silver is 39 mm wide, a vintage size that makes it wearable for both men and women. Silver takes a high polish, which gives the metal a decorative quality and a sheen like no other material, and it is an affordable alternative to gold. Is it poised to make a comeback in the watch industry? Time will tell.

The new, METAS approved Tudor Black Bay Ceramic is 41 mm wide.

The 925 has an open caseback through which to see the movement, a new caliber for Tudor, the automatic MT5400, with a 70-hour power reserve. It is chronometer rated, which means it is COSC certified at an average daily variation between -4 and +6 seconds. Tudor does further testing in-house and confirms that the MT5400 tests between -2 and +4 seconds in variation. Tudor takes the accuracy standard up another notch with the new Black Bay Ceramic, an all-ceramic-cased watch with another powerful in-house movement that is METAS certified. Tudor is only the second brand in the watch industry to certify its watches with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology — the other is Omega. Tudor meets the qualification with a new movement, the MT5602-1U, which has a silicon balance spring and 70-hour power reserve. It is produced by Kenissi (a joint venture owned by Tudor, Breitling, and Chanel). The caliber is not only COSC- certified, but it also meets the higher standards of METAS. In order to qualify, it is tested at two temperatures, in six different positions, and must be able to function within a five-second range of variation each day (0/+5), compared to the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) rate of -4/+6. The certification also guarantees the timekeeping accuracy of the watch when subjected to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. The 41 mm Black Bay Ceramic has an open caseback showing the openworked movement, which has been given a black finish. It comes with two straps, one fabric and the other leather and rubber. The case is black ceramic and the bezel is PVD- treated steel with a ceramic insert. The 18k yellow gold Black Bay Fifty-Eight is also a first for Tudor and seems ahead of its time in its redefinition of the dressy sports watch. The gold adds a touch of elegance to the model, while the green dial and fabric strap retain a sporty edge. It’s also trendy: green is the hottest color in timepieces at the moment and looks great with yellow gold. It contains the MT5400 caliber, and like the other new Black Bay Fifty-Eight, it is water resistant to 200 meters. The new 18k gold model is a nice dress/ sport watch at a great price point. Just what we expect from Tudor.

70 YEARS OF BRINGING JOY

For 70 years, the Moeller family has been following the footsteps of their visionary ancestor, Robert F. Moeller, proudly carrying on his family legacy of bringing joy to every customer that walks through the door. As a World War II veteran, the late Robert F. Moeller used the G.I. Bill to go to watchmaking school after returning home from the war. Once he completed his schooling, Moeller accepted his first job at the Emporium in downtown Saint Paul, and by 1951, he was ready for his own location. Moeller searched high and low for the perfect opportunity and finally purchased Harmon Jewelers in Highland Park from owner and operator, Jake Harmon. Thus,

began their decades-long legacy of providing exceptional service, selection, and quality. In 1961, the original location of R.F. Moeller Jeweler on the southwest corner of Ford Parkway and Cleveland was razed and replaced by a Powers department store. Moeller leased space inside the Powers building and continued to operate under the R.F. Moeller Jeweler name. Shortly after opening the Highland Park Powers location, Moeller leased additional space in another Powers department store located in the Knollwood Shopping Center. Yet, after seven years of operation inside Powers, Moeller realized department store retailing did not fit with the R.F. Moeller

Jeweler mission and customer experience. So, in 1968, Moeller began to consolidate his two locations and prepared to move the R.F. Moeller Jeweler operation into a freestanding location in Highland Park. It took three years and a lot of hard work, but by 1971, R.F Moeller Jeweler had completely transitioned into its new location at 2067 Ford Parkway, which brought to life the R.F. Moeller Jeweler vision of a fine quality, full-service jewelry store. Robert and Bernice Moeller owned and operated the store for the next 20 years, until their oldest son, Mark Moeller, purchased the business in 1991. Around this same time, R.F. Moeller Jeweler began carrying Lazare

10 ] R . F . M O E L L E R M A G A Z I N E

Diamonds and has grown to be the largest Lazare dealer in the country. Lazare Kaplan is the originator of the ideal cut diamond and Lazare Diamonds are considered to be the most beautiful diamonds in the world, because of their perfect blend of fire and light. Inspired by Lazare and the ideal cut diamond, R.F. Moeller’s tagline for over a decade was “The ideal diamond from the ideal jeweler, for the ideal price.” Although this tagline has changed over the years, this value of providing

the most beautiful diamonds at the best prices is still a cornerstone of the business. Three years after the transition fromRobert and Bernice to Mark, R.F. Moeller Jeweler expanded into the West Metro by purchasing Korst and Sons, another local family-owned jeweler on the corner of 50th and France in Edina. On R.F. Moeller Jeweler’s 50th Anniversary in 2001, the Highland Park showroom moved two doors down to its current location on

the corner of Ford Parkway and Cleveland. In 2006, the Edina store moved into a modern new showroom just off the corner of 50th and France, continuing the Moeller legacy of exceptional quality, superior service, and stunning displays of jewelry and watches.

A NEW GENERA T I ON OF EXPLORERS AND SOME OUT - OF - TH I S -WORLD D I A L S 2021 ROLEX

Rolex, the world’s most collected watch, singles out certain models each year for updates, new designs, or improvements. It could be a new metal, a new dial treatment, or even a new movement. This year, the Explorer gets some special attention, with new materials and a new dial treatment. The Daytona was endowed with an out- of-this-world dial, and the Datejust is embellished with a subtle palm frond motif.

16 ] R . F . M O E L L E R M A G A Z I N E

The Explorer has been enriched with a touch of gold this year with yellow Rolesor, a true Rolex signature combining 18k yellow gold and Oystersteel. A sparkling rim of gold also surrounds the numerals and hands. The dial has been given a rich, glossy lacquer finish, in keeping with the model’s climb into gold territory. The black color contrasts beautifully with the indexes and signature 3, 6, and 9 numerals, especially since they are now lit up with new and improved Chromalight, Rolex’s proprietary luminescent material. In dark conditions, the hands and hour markers glow a vibrant blue, and in daylight, they remain a bright white. The movement is also new for the Explorer. The caliber 3230 features Rolex’s signature Chronergy escapement with a blue Parachrom anti- magnetic hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers and a power reserve of 70 hours.

The Rolex Explorer in 18k yellow gold and Oystersteel.

The new 42 mm Explorer II is all Oystersteel, a unique alloy that is particularly strong and corrosion resistant — perfect for an adventure watch like the Explorer II, which has the added function of a second time zone. It is indicated on a 24-hour display with an orange hour hand on the central dial. It contains the Rolex caliber 3285, which is new to this model. It features Rolex’s patented Chronergy escapement with a blue Parachrom anti-magnetic hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers and a power reserve of 70 hours. The Explorer was sized down a notch this year to 36 mm from 39 mm, but that takes it back to the beginning — the Explorer was 36 mm when it was first introduced in 1953. The Explorer II remains a robust 42 mm.

A new version of the Cosmograph Daytona is out of this world. It has a solid meteorite dial that adds a unique decorative touch to the watch with precious metal versions of the sporty model, including white gold, yellow gold, and Everose, Rolex’s proprietary rose gold. Rolex extends the special dial treatment to new models of the Datejust 36 with palm or fluted motifs. The new palm frond motif evokes lush, vibrant tropical forests, while the fluted pattern pays tribute to the grooves on Rolex’s signature fluted bezels. The new versions of the Datejust 36 are equipped with caliber 3235, with a precision rating of -2/+2 seconds per day. The Rolex Datejust, first launched in 1945, was the first selfwinding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial — viewed through the signature cyclops lens. The Datejust 36 is water resistant to 100 meters.

This year’s introductions also include some sparkle, with a new Lady Datejust adorned with more than 1,000 diamonds. They cover the dial, case, lugs, and bracelet like a blanket of sparkling snow, contrasted by elegant black Roman numerals. The 28 mm watch is 18k yellow gold, and it contains the caliber 2236, with a precision rating of -2/+2 seconds per day. The new lineup from Rolex for 2021 is a nicely balanced assortment, ranging from rugged professional watches and embellished sports watches to decorated dials and gem-encrusted beauties — something for everyone!

LOVE IN VERONA OBERTO COIN COLLECTION

In Verona, Italy, love is everywhere. Popularly known as Romeo and Juliet’s city, Verona is the inspirational birthplace for Roberto Coin’s Love in Verona collection. In this new collection, the jewels continue the thread that connects Roberto Coin to historical and passionate cities throughout Italy. Now, you, too, can take your lover on another Italian city tour with each piece in the Verona collection. At the heart of every Robert Coin collection is a beautiful and intriguing Italian story. His designs have taken us across the Portofino’s Mediterranean villages, shown us the majestic beauty of Roman palaces, and walked us through the narrow alleyways of Venice. Now, Roberto Coin is continuing our journey to yet another lover’s paradise, found only in the city of Verona. Still, his inspirations don’t stop with his fascinations of the city; they also capture the heart and soul of a special woman’s club: The Juliet Club. Founded in 1930, this select group of women read and answer every love letter that arrives and is addressed to Shakespeare’s Juliet. Each note tells the story of love, heartbreak, or desire and is responded to with the utmost thought and consideration. Just like Roberto Coin, this group takes their calling seriously, dedicating their lives to spreading the love of the Italian city across the globe. These letters are then archived and cared for with love out of respect for each note’s author. Robert Coin captures this dedication to love perfectly in every facet of his newest designs. Each adornment in the Verona collection considers a woman’s elegance, inner beauty, and innermost desires and passions. Love in Verona strikes that perfect balance between classic and contemporary style, a testament to Roberto Coin’s thorough design process that has turned taste and experimentation into style and innovation, capturing the eye of jewelry lovers and admirers around the world.

“FASHION IS CHANGEABLE — IT IS WHIMSICAL. STYLE IS NOT. STYLE IS PART OF US, OF OUR LIFE, IN EVERY MOMENT AND EVERY EXPRESSION.” ~ROBERTO COIN.

Roberto Coin combines his technological prowess with time-honored craftsmanship to create the new Verona collection. The four-petaled floral motif repeats in diamonds and in engraving, even reappearing in the gallery of each piece, as a reminder of our inner beauty. The Verona collection also continues Roberto Coin’s dedication to different cultures and multi-ethnic influences, echoing the importance of the past and the predictions of the future. To many, the repetition of the four-petaled floral motif

throughout each piece mirrors the same pattern found in the Arena of Verona, an architectural symbol of the city. This floral motif has become a cornerstone of the brand, evoking the medieval Century’s passion and exquisiteness. Throughout the Verona collection, you’ll find hand-crafted pieces with emeralds, rubies, diamonds, or sapphires sent in 18K yellow, white, and rose gold. Subtle yet bold, the Love in Verona collection will match her style, fuel her soul, touch her heart, and drive her desire to love and be loved.

SPARKLINGWITHNEWS DE BEERS FOREVERMARK IS

Viola Davis at the SAGAwards,Amanda Seyfried at the Golden Globes, and Regina King at the Academy Awards: Hollywood A-listers have been putting a high-wattage spotlight on De Beers Forevermark for years, but never more so than the 2021 awards season. It’s among the reasons this luxury diamond house is enjoying a spectacular year. The name change you have likely noticed is yet another. This year, Forevermark is rebranding to become De Beers Forevermark, a reflection not only of the parent company’s deep commitment to the brand but also an integral step forward in its message of sustainability and ethical sourcing. According to a De Beers Forevermark statement, this “single,

unified and powerful social-purpose message” will also include an even greater focus on educating people about responsible mining and sourcing. It’s no longer enough to understand the four-C philosophy of color, clarity, cut, and carat weight; if you’re purchasing a diamond, chances are you also have questions about how a stone was mined, as well as each step it underwent until the moment you were first mesmerized by its brilliance. The certification process created by De Beers Forevermark not only provides answers about the diamond house’s sourcing, tracking and fair-trade practices, but it’s also a necessary element that makes insuring your diamond that much easier.

That dedication to transparency is why so many high-profile women in Hollywood are happy to wear De Beers Forevermark at awards shows broadcast around the planet. Celebrated for her directing work on 2020’s One Night in Miami , Regina King paired custom Louis Vuitton gowns with De Beers Forevermark diamonds at both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards this year, including pieces from the just-launched Avaanti collection, which combines graceful curves of 18k white, yellow, or rose gold with innovative diamond placements to create designs that feel wholly modern. At April’s SAG Awards, Cynthia Erivo likewise chose the ripple-inspired designs from this newly debuted collection, choosing two pairs of Avaanti Arc earrings and a trio of Avaanti diamond rings to accent her Alexander McQueen gown. The collection’s versatility and wearability with multiple pieces is part of its charm, while its accompanying ad campaign, produced by an all-female team, points to the brand’s desire to elevate women. “With Avaanti, we have created fine jewelry

that has the power not only to celebrate those who wear it, but to inspire them to realize their inner strength,” says De Beers Forevermark CEO Nancy Liu. “The smallest spark or idea starts with you, and Avaanti is a reminder that you should never underestimate your ability to create an impact.” Hollywood is likewise influencing the latest engagement ring and wedding band collection by De Beers Forevermark. Star stylist Micaela Erlanger — whose clients include Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o, Sigourney Weaver, and Lucy Hale — launched her first-ever jewelry collection in September 2020 with De Beers Forevermark. Christened Forevermark x Micaela, the collection consists of seven engagement rings and two wedding bands for brides and grooms, with each design highlighting diamonds set in platinum. Round, oval, and cushion-cut diamonds are accented with details like hidden pavé-set stones to provide added sparkle or brilliant-cut trapezoid diamonds that flank an elongated cushion shape on a three-stone ring.

Erlanger’s history of styling some of the world’s best-known women made her a natural choice for the collaboration. “Over the years, I have counted on De Beers Forevermark to deliver the most exquisite diamonds for the most memorable occasions for my clients,” she says. “While diamonds are incredibly important at a big awards show, they are even more so on your wedding day; you want to choose something that is personal, that is authentically you, and that symbolizes your commitment of forever.” There’s another reason the collaboration was a perfect fit for Erlanger — during the design process for Forevermark x Micaela, she also was planning her own spring 2021 wedding. Her own journey as a bride inspired everything from the modernity of each design to the use of platinum throughout the collection. “Platinum is incredibly durable, so it’s ideal for everyday wear,

and its natural luminous finish perfectly highlights the brilliance of a De Beers Forevermark diamond,” she points out. “The collection encompasses everything I know my brides are looking for: clean, delicate lines, settings that allow the diamonds to ‘float,’ timeless platinum settings, hidden details that incorporate just a little extra sparkle, and most of all, enduring style.” Not unlike the glamorous, accomplished women she dresses, Erlanger is ultimately a fan of every element that’s made De Beers Forevermark the unsurpassed leader in today’s diamond industry. “I want to ensure that I am giving brides something special and memorable,” Erlanger adds. “And that is what De Beers Forevermark offers: the most beautiful diamonds in the world, with unmatched beauty — and a commitment to making the world a better place.”

ROADSTER 2 0 2 2

DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE AND AERO EFFICIENCY

The second-generation Tesla Roadster, originally unveiled in 2017 and expected to enter the market in 2022, is the quickest car in the world, with record-setting acceleration, range, and performance. With SpaceX’s package it will go 0-60 mph in 1.1 seconds! WHAT’S OLD IS NEW AGAIN The Roadster will be a new addition to the Tesla lineup when it eventually enters production, resurrecting the nameplate worn by the company’s first model back in 2008.

As an all-electric supercar, Roadster maximizes the potential of aerodynamic engineering — with record-setting performance and efficiency. GLASS ROOF A lightweight, removable glass roof stores in the trunk for an open-air, convertible driving experience.

exilarating speed

JUST PLAIN FAST In November 2017, Tesla revealed the second-generation Roadster. Plans were made for a 2021 release, but it’s now expected to arrive for the 2022 model year. The good news? Until then, you could visit one on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California. Tesla hasn’t been bringing out the new Roadster prototype often since the unveiling. This is understandable, considering the production version has been delayed several times. Tesla is not looking to promote it too soon or too much. But this past summer it was in the rare situation where anyone who wanted to buy a ticket for the Petersen Automotive Museum could go and see it. And now you can order it as well. There, next to the car, was an interesting plaque that reveals a startling zero-to-60 mile-per-hour time of 1.1 seconds, when equipped with the SpaceX package. Huh? Musk took to Twitter to confirm the revelation, saying that it’s possible with “the SpaceX rocket thruster option package.” In true James Bond fashion, the Roadster might have cold air thrusters, supplied by compressed air tanks, with the thrusters hidden behind the license plate that’ll help propel the all-wheel-drive sports car to cruising speeds. Without the package, Tesla claims the car should be able to hit 60 mph (96 kilometers per hour) in 1.9 seconds, still mind-blowing, to say the least.

Musk has made a lot of promises with the Roadster, claiming the car will offer 620 miles of range with its tri-motor configuration — one in the front and two in the back — that will power all four wheels. The power and range will come from a 250-kilowatt-hour battery. When Tesla revealed it in 2017, the company said the car would offer 7,375 pound-feet (10,000 Newton-meters) of torque and that it would hit 100 mph (160 kph) in 4.2 seconds, which is quicker than most cars to 60. It would complete the quarter-mile in 8.8 seconds. All that performance won’t be cheap, as the car will be capable of reaching speeds over 250 mph (402 kph). The base Roadster starts at $200,000 with the Founders Series car, of which only 1,000 will be made, costing $250,000 each. Tesla required $50,000 to reserve one, and it should be a stunning performance car when it arrives. Musk often remained vague about a new official timeline for the electric hypercar program, but he confirmed earlier this year that the engineering of the new Tesla Roadster will be completed this year in order to enter production in 2022. He even said that he expects Tesla to have a new drivable release candidate by the end of the summer and that version should end up being the production version available next year.

THE DIAMOND SOLITAIRE: From the elevated, six-prong setting to the bezel-set beauty, the diamond solitaire remains the preferred engagement ring because of its simplicity and timeless appeal. It provides infinite options for pairing a wedding band or a set of wedding bands to personalize the look.

3.03ct Cushion Cut Sapphire with Trapezoid Cut Side Diamonds.

COLORED GEMSTONE: Some brides prefer a nontraditional engagement ring set with a colored gemstone at the center. The most popular alternative gem is a blue sapphire, which symbolizes love, loyalty, and harmony. However, with gemstones in all colors of the rainbow, we can help you find one in a shade that’s just right for you.

FANCY SHAPES: There’s no doubt that the round brilliant diamond will always remain a classic. In recent years, though, ovals, emerald cut, and cushion cut diamonds have grown in popularity. Oval diamonds carry more of their weight at the top, thereby appearing larger per carat. The linear facets on an emerald cut diamond give it a bold, graphic, geometric look, while a cushion cut gives a softer look to a square shape.

BACHMAN’S WEDDINGS AND EVENTS BringingBeauty toLife.

Looking back on 2020, the global pandemic, and the challenges faced by somany of us, it feels like we can finally take pause and even begin to plan for a brighter future. 2020 was a difficult year for so many, bringing about disappointments and unique challenges while also surfacing opportunities for reworking the things that didn’t serve us. Weddings and events were no different, but suffered especially during the pandemic. In a time when many yearned to be close and gather together, our happiest moments and celebrations were put on hold. The pandemic forced many couples to delay, reschedule, rethink, or even cancel weddings. Now, as we begin to come together again to celebrate life’s joyful moments, there are opportunities to craft weddings and events that are exactly as we want them to be, full of joy without any stress or strife. Through 2020, award-winning florist and garden center Bachman’s worked diligently to adapt to the many changes

the pandemic brought about for weddings, events, and retail. You might say Bachman’s has a little experience in weathering change. Bachman’s was founded in 1885 and remains family- owned, with fifth-generation Bachman family members leading the company today. Based in Minneapolis, Bachman’s operates retail locations in the Twin Cities, including six full- service floral, home, and garden centers, a gift and décor store in the Galleria Edina, a hardscapes center in Farmington, and 28 floral departments within Lunds & Byerlys grocery stores. The company also operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, a weddings and special events department, a nursery wholesale division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a 670-acre growing range in Farmington, which produces many of the plants, flowers, and landscaping products sold by Bachman’s today.

During the pandemic, with new rules and regulations imposed on gatherings and events, Bachman’s worked with couples to look at weddings and events in a new light. The wedding team at Bachman’s (recognized for several years running by the Knot as their pick for Best of Weddings) provided guidance and flowers for small family gatherings, outdoor weddings, or courthouse weddings celebrated with a simple bouquet and boutonnière. Now, in 2021, with event regulations and mask mandates lifting, Bachman’s is readier than ever to jump back into creating dream weddings, events, and celebrations. With over 100 years of expertise and experience in celebrating love, plus newly gained skills and dexterity from navigating events during the pandemic, Bachman’s is your partner in creating your dream wedding, whether it is an intimate gathering or a celebratory bash. For many couples, flowers are the most fun and special part of wedding planning. Flowers evoke cherished memories, and favorite flowers often become the basis of a chosen wedding color palette. In this Lake Minnetonka waterside wedding, Bachman’s designers created stunning floral masterpieces to enhance already gorgeous shoreline views. Featuring a color palette of coral, blush pink, navy, and orange, the arrangements complemented the nautical navy of the boats in the water, and the groom’s dapper suit. Unique flowers like peony, thistle,

protea, ranunculus, and scabiosa accented with textural foliage like pepperberry and olive leaf created modern and whimsical floral elements for the outdoor ceremony. Bachman’s designers created dramatic floral installations in classic urns to line the aisle leading to a romantic lakeside ceremony site under a circular willow and floral arch. Lush table centerpieces paired with smaller cocktail-sized arrangements studded the tables, pairing perfectly with placeholders, menus, and elegant place settings. The bride’s whimsical and textural bouquet stole the show, featuring roses, ranunculus, and peonies complemented by accent flowers and dusty green draping foliage. Wrapped in blush ribbon, the bride’s bouquet combined classic and whimsical elements perfect for a sophisticated lakeside wedding. Whatever the future holds for events or for your special day, the experts at Bachman’s are ready to help you visualize, plan, and create your dream wedding. Whether your idea of the perfect wedding is a ceremony on the lake with friends and family, a belated reception to celebrate a small 2020 wedding, or a simple celebration for just you two, Bachman’s weddings and special events team is ready to bring your vision to life. THE ALLURE OF GRAVURE LUXURY &PASSION

The moment that a wedding band is slipped onto one’s finger, a commitment becomes complete, marking the beginning of a new connection. The Gravure Commitment brand captures the intimacy, purity, and honesty of a union between two people, and their bands have been created to symbolize that deep, genuine emotion. Gravure Commitment has cemented their reputation by producing only the finest quality commitment bands using a unique production process used by very few in the industry. The attention to detail is apparent in the precise intricacies of its designs. The company takes pride in being able to craft unforgettable wedding bands. By using traditional skills, passed on from one generation to the next, the very latest technological innovations and diamond- tipped tooling, Gravure continuously strives for design perfection with each ring they create. Gravure was brought to this side of the Atlantic by Robert Neuwirth in 1965. He and his wife initially operated out of a small, one- room facility that has since grown into one of the most state-of-the-art, trusted, and respected creators of wedding bands. The addition of Robert’s daughters make Gravure a third- generation family business which has established its status as a leading provider of finely crafted

jewels known for its exquisite craftsmanship. Headquartered in Montreal Canada, the Gravure collection is featured across the globe at the most discerning jewelers. Leaving a war-torn country at the young age of 14 set the stage for Robert’s work ethic and desire to produce a product that would help people celebrate life’s most cherished moments. Their rings are influenced by Robert’s history, blending the love of art and beauty in design from his European hometown of Hungary and the superior standards in quality learned along the way in Belgium. Arriving in Canada, Gravure was created to fill a gap in the wedding industry, providing rings to couples who know and deserve better. Because Gravure understands that commitment is unique to every individual, they can customize any of their rings to reflect the wearers’ unique union. Upon finding their dream ring, the color of metal can be changed, and diamonds can be added or removed. With endless options Gravure invites you to use their design as a springboard to make it truly yours. According to Gravure, “We pride ourselves on helping the client on their journey. It is our honor to have you join our Gravure family.”

4.29ct Oval Sapphire Ring with Half Moon Diamond Accents.

Green Hues: Emerald Cut Emerald and Diamond Halo Pendant.

The big three gems — ruby, sapphire, and emerald — are stronger than ever this year, in both traditional and modern styles. In fine jewelry, they represent the classics that never go out of vogue. At one point, ruby, sapphire, and emerald were considered the only precious gemstones (the rest were called semi-precious). These three gems, in the highest qualities, always hold their value, and in some cases are priced well above diamonds. They also represent strong colors on the spectrum. Red is the color of

love. It radiates passion and vitality. It is the color of intensity, appetite, and adventure. Blue is the world’s favorite color. It is cooling and soothing and associated with wisdom and clarity. It is a looks-good-anywhere color that is all about peace and serenity. Green is a perennial favorite that has come to represent ecology and the environment, along with green spaces, spring, regeneration, and fertility. It represents renewal and energy.

COMFORT COLORS, NEW NEUTRALS, AND A TOUCH OF CHEERY NEONS BRIGHTEN OUR WORLD

Yellow diamonds and yellow sapphires are hot this season because of their cheery intensity. Diamonds and sapphires are the hardest of all gemstones and reflect light with a brilliance that outshines all other gems. Both are rare, and therefore, highly prized. Yellow is the most luminous of all the colors in the spectrum. It captures our attention more than any other. It’s a happy color that reminds us of sunshine, daffodils, and lemons. It exudes energy and optimism. Orange: In nature, this vivid, bracing hue shows up in sunsets, rainbows, fire, and flowers. Best of all, it is the color of two beautiful natural gemstones: spessartite garnet and fire opal, which have a vitality all their own. Both gems are perfect for statement pendants or cocktail rings, as they are durable and come in large sizes. Orange represents vitality, warmth, cheer, and adventure.

Beyond the big three, other gems in the blue, green, and red category are also perennial favorites. Green tourmaline has a hue that is slightly softer than emerald, and because it is generally available in larger sizes, it makes great statement earrings or rings. It is quite resistant to scratching, chipping, and cracking, making it an excellent choice for everyday wear. Tourmaline is said to possess natural healing properties that release a wholesome energy to all parts of the body, to encourage strength of spirit and calm the nerves.

Aqua Hues: 9.40ct Emerald Cut Aquamarine from Spark Creations & 8.90ct Paraiba Tourmaline and Diamond Pendant.

Green Hues: Green Tourmaline and Diamond Drop Earrings & Mozambique Tourmaline and Diamond Ring.

Rubellite is also a type of tourmaline. It comes in dark pink to red colors and medium to dark tones. It is the most prized member of the tourmaline family because of its beauty and rarity. Because of its deep rich color, the gem is compared to the ruby. Rubellite rings are particularly sought-after as they wear well in almost any type of jewelry. Aquamarine has a special glow that seems to emanate from within. It reflects the color of earth’s life-giving forces — the sea on a warm tropical holiday or a cool iceberg in the Antarctic — generating wellness and vitality. Aquamarine was believed to have originated in the treasure chests of mermaids, who doled it out to protect and rejuvenate their favorite sailors.
