Isabella & Jorge Del Toro HOW DID YOUR LOVE STORY BEGIN? Isa: We met during our first semester of college at a party. We were both at the same party, and a few weeks later, Jorge reached out to me through text. We met again for a formal date, and since then, we have been inseparable. We have been together for 5 years now. From the moment I saw him, God highlighted him to me. Fun fact: Jorge asked me to be his girlfriend at a Denny’s restaurant. He was having his favorite breakfast dish: Moons Over My Hammy, and I was having a strawberry crêpe. WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE PART OF YOUR WEDDING? We married shortly after our engagement. Two months later to be exact. Both of us were about to begin a new degree that fall, and with school and work ahead, we knew we wouldn’t have much time to plan a big wedding. So we decided on an intimate celebration in Puerto Rico with Jorge’s family, since he is originally from there. Although it was stressful to plan a wedding in just months, it was completely worth it. Now we get to call each other husband and wife!

TELL US ABOUT THE PROPOSAL! HOW DID IT HAPPEN, AND WAS IT A SURPRISE?
Alex completely surprised me with the proposal. Just a few days before we were set to leave for a trip to Europe, he checked us into a suite at The Breakers Hotel. At first, I thought it was so random — why book something so extravagant right before a big trip? But the day unfolded beautifully: we had brunch, spent the afternoon enjoying the room, went out to dinner, and when we returned, he led me out onto the balcony to watch the waves. That’s where he got down on one knee and presented the most beautiful ring. It was intimate, thoughtful, and so us.
HOW DID WESTON JEWELERS HELP YOU FIND THE PERFECT RING?
As Weston natives, Weston Jewelers has always been part of our lives. My family has been going there since I was little, and over the years we’ve become great friends with Ed and Tracey. That made finding my engagement ring even more special — it wasn’t just about choosing a piece of jewelry, it was about creating something meaningful with people we’ve trusted and loved for years. My dad was the one who took Alex to Weston Jewelers when he started looking, which made the process even more personal. Ed guided him with such care and expertise, and the end result was a ring more beautiful than I ever imagined. Having them as part of our journey — and even at our wedding — made it all the more heartfelt.

WAS THERE A MOMENT YOU REALIZED THEY WERE YOUR FOREVER PERSON? Yes! At a family friend’s wedding, the first wedding we went to together, we both separately thought about wanting to spend our lives together, and just recently we shared that with each other, and coincidentally it was on the same night. TELL US ABOUT THE PROPOSAL! HOW DID IT HAPPEN, AND WAS IT A SURPRISE? It was a surprise! We were at our families’ houses for Thanksgiving when Zack suggested we head back to Miami early to take a Solidcore class, which was very unusual for him! (He knew I wouldn’t have agreed to leave early otherwise). That evening, he said our friend was in town and that we were going out to meet them at their hotel for a drink. When we showed up, I saw the photographer in the bushes and knew. He had planned a dinner with our families that night, and afterward, he surprised me again with all of our friends at our apartment.

WHAT ARE YOUR WEDDING PLANS? We are planning to honor both of our cultures by having a big Indian wedding and integrating parts of my culture as well - being of mixed Italian and Chinese heritage. We are very excited to bring our two families and cultures together, and there is no doubt that there will be some good food at our wedding! HOW DID WESTON JEWELERS HELP YOU FIND THE PERFECT RING? Weston Jewelers helped us take a family heirloom and turn it into the perfect ring for us. They understood how much it meant to us and respected the history behind the ring and our family. They designed a handmade, custom engagement ring and wedding band set, preserving the history of the ring and adding a modern twist to it. The whole process of designing the ring was made seamless.
