LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS CREATE MAGIC BCClark partnered withHSEArchitects, who was involved with the design at the store at the Shoppes at Northpark. The result is a truly special place. The store design was inspired by modern jewelry design, the architects said. “While designing the space we constantly referred back to certain pieces that we found early on for inspiration,” said Todd Edmonds, principal architect at HSE. “We wanted the space to have the same soft organic elegance that you see in a lot of necklace, bracelet, and ring designs. Our goal was always to capture that essence and reinterpret it into architectural features and interior finishes.” HSE was heavily involved from start to finish, from the floor plan concept to the design elements, to the interior design finishes. HSE’s interior designer helped select all the finishes and appointed furniture. The design evokes timeless elegance. “BC Clark has been in Oklahoma since 1892 and has no intentions of going anywhere anytime soon,” Edmonds said. “They needed the design of their space to be one that lasts but also representative of the values that built their company. They have sold jewelry for 128 years and jewelry is something people wear as a way of expressing themselves. We thought the store should be a way for BC Clark to express themselves.” When choosing their partners BCClark focused on working with local businesses including HSE Architects, Smith and Pickel Construction, and mostly local subcontractors. “Oklahoma has supported us for 128 years, and we will always support our local community however we can,” Clark explained. “And this commitment doesn’t end with our contractors.” In celebration of the opening of the new store, BC Clark donated $10,000 to Infant Crisis Services, an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit providing necessities to toddlers and babies. In addition to stores in Downtown and the Shoppes at Northpark, Classen Curve gives BC Clark customers three great locations to shop. “Classen Curve is an ideal location for our largest store for the next ten years and beyond,” Clark said. “The outstanding retail, dining, and fitness brands at Classen Curve, as well as the proximity and ease for our customers, make it a perfect fit for BC Clark. We invite you to come see us at Classen Curve and celebrate the latest chapter of our Oklahoma story.”

A FAMILY AFFAIR One new addition beloved by staff and customers alike is a cozy “KidSpace” located under the stairs. Complete with a star ceiling, beanbags, and a TV screen, it is sure to be a favorite spot to keep kids occupied while parents shop. The whimsical ‘animals in space’ themed walls were hand- painted by Emmy Clark, 5th generation Clark family member, and an art student at the University of Oklahoma. The room is also equipped with a camera so that the parents may carry around an iPad to keep an eye on their children as they continue to browse.
