D esigner Penny Preville has a way of putting her own special signature on otherwise classic designs. Eternity bands, heirloom-style medallions, lariats, and confetti diamond necklaces all take leading roles in her 2022 collections. There are new pearl styles alongside classic gemstones, from elegant emeralds to pink and blue sapphires. All of them have Penny’s signature touch. Her strategy is to create feminine, elegant, and supremely wearable jewelry.
This year’s revisited classics include a selection of stunning riviera-style necklaces and bracelets, including
some with baguette-cut diamonds and others with baguette-cut pendants, adding a touch of the Art Deco flair that is so close to Penny’s heart. Her more modern take on this style takes the form of a series of confetti-style chokers, in which diamonds in a variety of shapes and sizes are set in a free-form arrangement. The creative placement of diamonds adds a unique, contemporary kick to the traditional riviera silhouette. The Watercolor Confetti variations add a punch of femininity to the look, with soft pink, vibrant pink and purple sapphires. The Medallion collection embraces some of Penny’s favorite motifs, including sun, moon and stars, hearts and engraveable disks for a collection of everyday jewelry with distinctive symbolism. In another signature twist, Penny adds a hand- applied finish to the gold Antique Amulet collection, giving a vintage luster and feel to lariats, stackable rings, dainty drop earrings and gold bangles. Did someone say pearls and yellow gold? Penny works two of this year’s hottest trends in jewelry into her Pearl Link collection, creating an updated twist on classic freshwater and baroque shaped pearls. And she made them transformable! The pearl links can be removed from the earrings, which can then be worn as small diamond huggies. And the link bracelets can be enhanced with clip-on pearl medallions, some with diamond moon, star, or heart overlays — another unmistakable Penny Preville touch!
