R.F. MOELLER GIVES BACK SUPPORTING CHILDREN’S CANCER RESEARCH FUND
F or four years, R.F. Moeller Jeweler has proudly partnered with Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF). They invest in bold new ideas to revolutionize the way childhood cancer is treated. Each September, we donate every dollar from watch battery sales to CCRF in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. With your help, we have donated over $16,000 to fund important research on more effective treatments for leukemia and brain tumors, the two most common childhood cancers. CCRF’s primary focus is to support the research of bright scientists across the country whose ideas can make the greatest impact for children fighting cancer. They also fund resources and programs that help families who are fighting cancer stay strong, find community, and take care of themselves. AMPLIFYING THE POWER OF A DOLLAR Every donation to Children’s Cancer Research Fund supports the early stages of childhood cancer research and fills in gaps along the way, when funding from federal or
other sources just isn’t available. Donations help jump-start new ideas and make better treatments and cures possible. Every dollar donated leads to an average of $18 in additional funding. Forty-six children are diagnosed with cancer every day in the U.S. By spreading the word and funding research, we can make treatments better and safer for kids fighting cancer. Today there are only six drugs that were approved first for use in cancer treatment for children. By the age of 50, more than 99 percent of survivors have had a chronic health problem caused by the toxicity of the treatment that initially saved their life, including brain damage, loss of hearing and sight, heart disease, secondary cancers, learning disabilities, infertility, and more. Kids fighting cancer deserve better, safer treatments. That’s why we have partnered with Children’s Cancer Research Fund to help make those treatments possible.
