The new Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 collection.
No mention of Breitling’s heritage is complete without a word about the AVI Co-Pilot. In 1953, Breitling introduced an aviator’s watch that became the model for other aviator watches ever since. It was called the Ref. 765 AVI, and later the Co-Pilot, because it was considered the perfect tool for aviators with its rotating 12-hour bezel to record flight times. The AVI Co-Pilot was all about legibility, with a large dial, outsized Arabic numerals, and a minutes counter that could be read at a glance. This year, Breitling introduced three new Classic AVIs inspired by the original 1953 issue, and one inspired by a 1964 model. The color schemes of the four watches are designed to honor four of history’s greatest aircraft: the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang, the Vought F4U Corsair, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, and the de Havilland Mosquito. The introduction of the Breitling Caliber 23 chronograph movement further trims the profile and makes the Classic AVI attractive from a value perspective, as well.
