“When I first mentioned Operation Healing Forces to Keith and explained what we were doing to assist the wounded Special Operations troops and their significant others, he immediately bought into the cause and asked if there was anything IDC could do to help,” Gary said. “In addition to the first charity fundraiser that IDC did for OHF, Keith, Peggy, and the other family members and staff have done a fabulous job not only helping us financially, but verbally promoting our cause, as well.” Thanks to thousands of donations and the generosity of the Markel family, OHF covers the entire cost of the trips, so that each SOF couple can enjoy the program without worry. Furthermore, OHF has recently expanded its reach to well beyond the retreats in what they call their Special Operations Additional Resources, or SOAR for short. “The additional resource program started as just a way to continue working with the community and keeping in touch with our alumni,” said Resource Director Desiree Holley. “We didn’t want to be that organization that had a one-touch and moved on.” The SOAR program includes resources for immediate needs, which offers direct crisis support to the families that need it most. SOAR has also been able to help veterans and their families pay for medical treatments, prosthetics, flights to funerals, and more. As a sponsor of OHF through The Fifth C Foundation, IDC has committed to helping fund and support our veterans and these much- needed resources. This support includes providing a donation match of up to $25,000 collected on OHF’s Annual Giving Day. This year’s event will take place virtually on November 12, 2020, which just so happens to be Veteran’s Day.

S ince opening International Diamond Center’s doors nearly 30 years ago, Keith Leclerc’s ambitions have always gone far beyond the diamond business. “The Lord has blessed my family and our company,” he says, “and we will always live by the motto, to whom much is given, much is expected.” This spirit inspired Keith and his family to give back to all of the communities that IDC’s stores serve, in a consistent and authentic manner. Hence, Keith is very proud to introduce The Fifth C foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to create an intimate expression of the Leclerc’s family values and an extension of their traditions of philanthropy. The foundation is centered around philanthropic giving and a passion for helping others. The primary focuses leading the foundation’s vision include veterans of war, childhood education, and pediatric oncology. Many of the nonprofits we have supported over the years include Boys &Girls Clubs, UF Shand’s Children’s Hospital, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, FARA Energy Ball, Save the Kids Foundation, Children’s Dream Found, Dali Museum, Academy Prep Center for Education, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Operation Healing Forces, New Life Solutions, March of Dimes, Make a Wish Foundation, and many more.
