Anibal Rubio JEWELER
At Sheiban Jewelers, we are fortunate to have Anibal Rubio, a master jeweler whose life journey began in Ecuador. Inspired by watching his cousins craft adornments by hand, Anibal discovered his passion for jewelry at the age of 11. After moving to the U.S., he honed his skills in New York City, a vibrant hub for jewelers. His transition to working with Sheiban Jewelers began a 25-year chapter filled with mastery and camaraderie. Anibal’s bench sits next to Mr. Sheiban’s, symbolizing their decades-long bond and seamless teamwork. Together, they create exquisite and unique pieces, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques.
One of Anibal’s most cherished projects involved crafting a gold police badge pendant to honor a hero, mentor, and grandfather. A client approached us to repurpose a gold chain gifted by his grandfather, a longtime Cleveland Police member, over 30 years ago. Anibal melted down the chain, now too thin for daily wear, and recast it into a pendant shaped like his grandfather’s original police badge. Using the actual badge as inspiration, Anibal meticulously crafted a replica with matching design, badge number, and inscription, creating a meaningful tribute to honor and preserve the memory of a beloved grandfather.
Beyond his meticulous work, Anibal’s cheerful demeanor lights up the store, making him a beloved figure among colleagues and clients. Away from his jewelry bench, Anibal finds joy in family time, often playing basketball with his sons and grandsons or enjoying outings to local parks and lakes.
Brandan Cloos WATCHMAKER
Brandan’s career with Sheiban began early in 2023, but his journey into the world of horology began at 14 when he stumbled upon a box of old watches at a local auction house. This discovery sparked a passion that led him to The Lititz Watch Technicum, where he honed his skills and became SAWTA certified in 2020. Brandan’s expertise is instrumental as he leads our expanding watch service department. His love for vintage watches, especially those with unique in-house movements, drives his dedication to his craft. He finds joy in exploring the creativity of past watchmakers and the intricate designs that tell stories of innovation and the rich heritage of horology. His favorite watch, a classic 36 mm Rolex Datejust on a jubilee bracelet, symbolizes both elegance and sentimentality, as many intend to pass these heirlooms to future generations. Outside of watchmaking, Brandan enjoys visiting flea markets and antique shops with his wife, always searching for unique treasures to add to their home. He also has a passion for bodybuilding and spends time training in his home gym.
