DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

A L INK INTRODUCING: A dolph Link, son of an Austrian bench jeweler, came to New York City in 1900. After apprenticing for three years with contracted manufacturing jewelers of Van Cleef, Harry Winston, and Tiffany, in 1904 he formed his own company, ALink. His creations were the reflection of Viennese artistry and designs influenced by his experiences assimilating into the heart of his adopted country, America. Working with diamonds and platinum, he created necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. Adolph worked to show the inherent beauty of earth’s most precious of minerals while using as little metal as possible, believing less is more. His first creations included a handmade, pulled-wire straight line diamond bracelet, joined later by a matching ring and earrings. He was ahead of his time. Seven decades later, these pieces had names: tennis bracelet, hoop earrings, and eternity wedding band.

“Our jewelry is an interpretation of the look, the beauty, and the spirit of a cosmopolitan lady of today and her desire to don some sparkle, both every day and on those special occasions,” says Jeffery Link, president of ALink. “For 114 years, ALink has strived to create jewelry which has the relevances, the style, and the grace of a city — jewelry which reflects the heritage of its roots and the excitement of the grandeur of New York City. We are metropolitan.”
