Olga Addis, who has worked at the store for 11 years, has completed the GIA graduate diamonds course and has a similar passion for diamonds and beautiful jewelry. “We all do much more than just sell,” she says, and that includes enjoying the atmosphere of the store and the comings and goings of customers. “I like meeting with new people and talking with and getting to know them,” she says. “I also enjoy helping customers to pick beautiful pieces for themselves or for a present to make someone feel very special.” She says the store has a great ambience, “It’s professional, friendly, and fun.” Some days are more fun than others: “My most memorable experience while working for Rubel was getting to meet jewelry designer Roberto Coin, during an event at Montage Resort.”
Sarah Lichtenberg, another devotee of the Italian master, worked for a year at the Roberto Coin boutique at Fashion Island before starting with Rubel in 2015. “The boutique was closing, and Rubel Jewelers was looking for someone, and they took a chance on me.” Also a GIA graduate gemologist, she had previously worked for a jewelry appraisal company, learning the ropes in that area of the business. Her favorite thing about working at Rubel is seeing the pleasure customers get from the beautiful pieces they choose. “It is always the best feeling when we are able to find the perfect piece of jewelry for someone or we get a watch to a customer that has been waiting. Seeing their faces light up is awesome!”
