FAMILY MATTERS

Finding Balance CENTER’S BRIAN AND DANAE LECLERC WITH INTERNATIONAL DIAMOND

Brian and Danae Leclerc aren’t your average parents. Between raising four children (one of which is a newborn) and working with family at International Diamond Center (IDC) (Brian’s father, Keith, is the owner), the couple manages to lead a life that prioritizes health, balance, and most importantly, faith. Below, Brian shares everything from his detailed dai- ly routine (which includes a first-thing family cold plunge) to navigating family ownership. What does a “day in the life” look like? I wake up 6AM and spend time with the Lord in prayer. Following that, I wake up the kids, my wife returns from the gym, and we all jump in our cold plunge and the kids do some pull-ups. From there, my wife and I get the kids’ breakfast and lunches ready, I take the kids to Northside Christian and then hit the gym before heading to work. I start my workday requesting my day’s priorities from the inventory team, then I ask my father how he plans to spend his day. I’ll usually have my own list of things to do too, including pricing new goods from our African diamond site, pricing watches, matching diamonds for studs, building bracelets, replenishing stores, and processing estate goods that come in.

I usually leave work around 6:30PM and head home to play baseball, football, or soccer with my boys. How do find time to prioritize your health? I heard this line a while back: “If you don’t take care of yourself, how can someone expect you to take care of them?” That’s exactly how I see health with myself and my family — we make time for our health as a family by making the inconvenient extra effort to prioritize it, which means early morning cold plunges and working out when we don’t feel like it. We do our best to put things into our bodies that won’t compromise our health, which means buying from quality farms that verify their process transparently. We also make sure we have the correct supplementation in our routine. All of this is key to maintain peak condition in this very sick world we live in!

and great work ethic comes great favor on our business. I see so many people lose sight and focus on their family because all their attention is focused on being a success. I want to leave a legacy, but I won’t make that mistake. How do you support each other when things get hectic? With four kids, we are always going full speed, but that’s how we like it! We accept the challenge of adopting a full schedule, but we know the importance of quality time with one another. When that slips, we notice it feels like we’re running without aim, so we do our best to pick one another up and have each other’s back. Is there anything else you’d like to add? We are building something truly special at IDC. But it’s important to know where we’ve come from and that the level of favor on our business has come with great devotion and dedication to Jesus. We are a praying family that knows we have a higher calling than just success here on earth. Through a spirit of excel- lence, we believe we can accomplish anything!

How do you navigate the personal and professional aspects of family ownership?

By making my wife and family the number one priority. They allow me to do what I love, sometimes late into the night. I want them to see me as someone they are proud of. Also, I want them to see that with great faith in Jesus
