ONE STEP AT A TIME You don’t need to have your whole layered look planned out in advance. Put on a mid-length necklace first, then look at your outfit as a whole and decide if your neckline needs more adornment above or below. Add whatever feels right for that open space, then repeat until you love your look! FAIL-PROOF FORMULA You can never go wrong pairing a pendant necklace with a decorative chain, beaded necklace, or tennis necklace that’s an inch or two shorter. When you’re ready for more, try adding a third, longer pendant necklace or decorative chain. LEARN YOUR LENGTHS
A FRESH APPROACH TO NECKLACE STYLING T
Layering works best when the necklaces you’re wearing together are different lengths. If you have a 16-inch necklace, an 18-inch necklace, and a 20-inch necklace, they’ll space out beautifully on your clavicle. If you do a lot of layering, it’s helpful to have chains of different lengths and a necklace extender or two in your jewelry box.
There’s a reason necklace layering has been trendy for so many years: it’s a chic and creative way to get the most out of the jewelry you already own without always needing to buy something new. Love the look of layered necklaces but don’t know how to get started styling them? Don’t worry — here’s how to layer necklaces like a pro!
