Every custom design has a story. One of the most highlighted and talked about pieces that came from the Reis-Nichols shop this year was a diamond and sapphire bangle made with love for a bride on her wedding day. “The design matched the lace of her wedding dress. We also used mom’s diamond in the middle and set a small yellow diamond on the inside for her good friend who passed away when they were younger. It was very thought out and [the jewelers] captured everything the client envisioned perfectly.” – Tracie Walters, Reis-Nichols sales consultant From drawing, to CAD to 10 hours of setting, this piece was an all-hands-on-deck project that was completed in less than two weeks and left both the bride and her parents speechless.
A MASTER’S MILESTONE This year, Reis-Nichols master jewelry designer, André van Bergeijk, celebrated his 40th anniversary with the company. As an award-winning designer, André is recognized across the Midwest as one of the top designers in the industry, and Reis-Nichols is proud of all he has accomplished over the past four decades. “He is an an amazing custom jeweler, fabricator, and wax carver. André has designed many award-winning pieces, and he is not only an artisan but a true artist,” said BJ Nichols, president of Reis-Nichols Jewelers. “He is legendary not only for his commitment to the industry, but for his for his commitment to Reis-Nichols for the past 40 years.”
André is the store’s lead designer with years of experience and skills that have led to some of the most stunning custom designs to ever cycle through a jewelry shop. You might have seen some of his work in Butler Blue’s collar and in many of the pendants gifted to the Indianapolis 500 Festival princess court each year. André has the unique skill of taking anything a client envisions and bringing it to life, often blowing their expectations out of the water.
